I'm confused now, in the SS booklet it says I can't have the water flavourings until week 2/3 (can't remember which) but my CDC let me get some at my first meeting

I think I'll probably just leave it until week 3.

I went shopping with my mum this morning and she made me go and look for an apricot tart for my dad, and I was faced with all these lovely desserts I can't have  but I'm staying strong :)

    Well done for resisting temptation!

No CD water-flavouring, bars or mousse-mix until week 3

Can anyone help me with this one? I'm sure someone out there can put my mind at rest.

I started CD two weeks ago and found the first week hard (headaches etc) as you all seem say you have. But I stuck with it and YIPPEEE at my first weigh in I lost 7lbs (started at 12st 11lb) This gave me such a boost and found the second week much easier and found I had loads of energy... I have ben off work for the last two weeks so to keep my mind active I found myself doing lots of active stuff, Housework, clean all the windows, gardening. Then at the weekend I did a 5 mile bike ride on Sunday followed by a 2 mile walk with my dog then I went bowling with a friend. Ive been drinking all my water each day, probably more than 4 pints aday. I have had an upset tum for the last few days.

I went to weigh in this morning and I have only lost 2lbs. (I was so dissapointed) My CD said I have been to active and my body has gone into starvation mode and the upset tum is probably proof of that to.

Has anyone else suffered something similar?

I cant be to ungrateful as it is noticable and I have now discovered lots of clothes in my wardrobe that I can now wear so 9lbs off is not to be sniffed at!!

I start a new job on Monday so that should help keep me occupied and I should be so tired when I get home I will just want to watch TV for a few hours and go to bed.

I am off on holiday in 3 weeks and I really want to lose as much as possible.

Any wise words from anyone who may have suffered the same.

Oops, well I had about a litre of summer berry water today.
    I'll try again tomorrow. :o

I had another vanilla shake for breakfast and used less water and I actually had a blender, so it was alot nicer (but I won't be getting any more next week!)
I think the problem is it's a lactose-free one, instead of the normal variety, so the normal one might be nicer.
I expected it to be like a McD's shake, and it was nothing like it :p

Had a chicken and mushroom soup for lunch which is much nicer than vegetable.
Also, I had a choc mint shake for tea which was lovely. :) So I'm feeling much more positive after my disasterous first day. :)

Temptation is everywhere! I keep half wishing I never started CD so I could eat all these wonderful foods but I have to keep telling myself I'll be much happier when I'm thin, because I know I will be. :)

My mother! I'm sure she's trying to sabotage my diet, shes now cooking bacon and eggs for her and my dad tomorrow, and she got out a packet of mini rolls, and she moved the biscuits from the landing (where I couldn't see them) to the kitchen, but my dad scoffed them all so I didn't get tempted for too long. :p

And I went in a coffee shop with my friend today, he got the most gorgeous looking garlic bread and cheese, and I sat there watching it.
I gave in at one point and almost ate a tiny bit of cheese :o but then I thought 'argh what am I doing!' and spat it out into a napkin :p
I then sat picking at his salady bits, but I only had a few tiny bits of leaves, so I'm proud. :)

Me, mum, dad and my brother went to the pub tonight and I very loyally sat there and drank water for 2 hours :) so I've had about 3.5l instead of yesterdays 2.25l (just enough!).
My brother was saying, 'are u going to have a chip?' and I said no, and then he asked if I wanted a pea :D but I was very good. His chicken, bacon and cheese looked delicious :o

No headaches today :D but I was feeling very tired and hungry and felt very low on energy, I was meant to be going clubbing tonight and totally didn't feel up to it, so I've got a whole evening to kill now. :)

Anyway, that was my day, I'll be quiet now :p

Congratulations on your weight loss :)

They say not to take up any new exercise during SS, since you're basically taking in enough calories to get through the day, and if you're using those calories up exercising, you don't have enough energy to get through the day and I guess that's why you go into starvation mode.
I could be completely and utterly wrong there, but that seems about right. :p

Yay, I've now had about 4.5 litres (assuming 2 pints = 1 litre, which I could be totally wrong about). :)

I'm just going to rant on here I think, feel free to ignore me :D

Hope I go into ketosis tomorrow, though my water flavouring may have hampered it a bit.

As long as I feel better on monday then I'm fine (I don't want to be hungry during my exam!)

    For Debc

If you want to exercise you need to go up the plans to 810 otherwise your body will hold onto every single calorie it is taking in to keep going.

Even so, a two pounds loss is not to be sniffed at so well done on that!

    Thanks for your comments.

Yes your right CnQ, at least it was 2lbs off so its going in the right direction. Its so annoying though as I was looking forward to breaking into the 11st barrier. Well 12st 2lbs now so hope to do it next week and as I said I can see it and my clothes fit better.

Well that was last week and I cant change it now!! I'll mark that one down to experience and see what this week brings.

Good luck to you all for the next week.

Can any of you give me an idea of what you lost in your first 4 - 5 weeks (week by week). I find it very motivational when I read these. Also, you've all done so well why not brag about it.

    Good Luck

Jennikay - have you thought about mixing your vanilla with some hot (not boiling water) coffee?, it makes a nice latte especially if you have a hand held coffee frother. (mix in a large jug if you have a frother so as to avoid spillage) I found these really nice.

Also has anyone had the oriental chilli soup? I was not sure about it at first but if you add a little more water its actually really nice. This and Tomato are the only soups I like but I love all the shake flavours espcially Fruits of the forest.

I'll try having a 'latte' this morning - I'll let you know how I get on :)

Eek - I woke up at one point during the night with a sharp pain in my right calf, was rolling around in agony until it went away and it still hurts a bit now  which is worrying.

I don't appear to have gone into ketosis today, since I'm quite peckish. :p
But I probably won't have any sense of 'well-being' since I have a cold.

Does anyone know if I'm allowed sleeping tablets on SS?

Well my latte was quite nice, much nicer than vanilla by itself.
I've asked my CDC to get some normal vanilla shakes in, and I'll try those when she does.

Feeling quite queasy now actually, I think I'll have to start splitting my packs.

Have to get started on the water now :o haven't had a drop yet this morning.
