Do try the tetras made into a mousse - they are totally different to the shakes made into a mousse - yummy!

Just the paracetamol and then add hot CD water flavouring which will help

Hope you feel better soon x

    Thanks for that c&q.

I'm being sent home from work think - I'll go to bed for a few hours.

So no throat lozenges then? Are we able to have vitamin c soluble as I usually increase my vitamin c intake when I have a cold.

No throat lozenges, no as they are too sugary

You can have Vitamin C, no problem, it won't upset your diet. I take 1000mg of Vitamin C every day all year round and have done for two years now.

How has everyone else faired whilst on the CD diet, with a cold?

I’ve been shocking and proper ill.

I was sent home from work twice. On the second occasion I spent 18 hrs in bed. I have had loads of fluids and my husband has been making my shakes (they taste so much better when someone else has made them - Lol!!)

Normally I sail through a cold, carry on working and manage my 3 bike classes at the gym
    .
I don’t know if it’s because I have not been taking my usual cold remedies (I was worried about the calorific and carbohydrate content) or because the shakes do not provide me with enough nutrition to fend off a cold.

On the plus side my favourite pair of size 18 work trousers zip up without tummy strain and that ‘hanging’ belly look!!!

Hope everyone is well and managing to stick with it x

Hi all, just wanted to report in! This is the beginning of day 7 and I've lost 11llbs! Very pleased with myself to have made it! It has been really hard and I only bugun to feel better on Thursday afternoon, but I would say it's been worth it.

I am going to have a nice meal tonight, because other than missing food, I'm also missing making a meal and sitting down with my partner at the end of the day, so I'm looking forward to having this meal, it's whats kept me going since Wednesday lol.

Hope everyone else is doing well and feeling good xxx

aislinn i think that if you are ill, you are ill and you need to take what will make you batter, CD isn't a religion and you haven't failed if you take some medicine. The sooner you feel better the sooner you will get back on track.

Have u looked at www.minimins.com There is SO much help and support there from many experienced people and counsellors.

    Good luck. The diet works!

Many thanks for the advice. I do hop between both websites (although I don’t contribute to the other) to gather information and tips – and find both just as good and useful.

I did resort to using some meds in the end because my throat was so sore and I simply could not stop coughing.

I think you are right annie_d it is about getting that balance as CD is neither my life nor my religion. Having said that, I feel that my bizarre relationship with food could end up being transferred to CD. It’s really weird but the regime is almost addictive…...shake at breakfast……soup at lunch……half of each for tea……..not having to brown ones together or in a row…….lol!!

I’m on 2 shakes a day now so that I can have an evening meal……………but I feel really guilty about eating instead of having that third shakes………….and at the risk of you all thinking that I ‘m totally mad – I feel like going back to buy the other 7 !!!

Anyway I’m going to try it starting with a barbeque today – my meals are supposed to be low carb and low fat right?

Whatever they put in those cough medicine bottles perked me right up yesterday and I was able to make it to the spin class – all though I was under par.

Anyway the weight loss was reduced only doing 4lbs this week but at least it was a loss and not a gain – eh?!!

Crickey I have gone on a bit…….lol. I’d better get off before him upstairs begins to think I’m in one of those ‘other’ chat rooms!!

Have a good week everyone x
