Crikey, where do you do your shopping? A weeks shopping for me and hubby is in the £20-30 (so £10-15 for me), and we have veg with every meal, well I used to.

I admit, CD is good for weight loss once you get used to it, but it is very expensive, I may well shift my 28lb but I'll be a thin person in debt. I'm going to stick to 600 cals a day (3 x 200) , drink plenty of water, and do some exercise.

If you stick to 600 cals per day off your own bat you will make yourself very very ill very fast as you will not have the nutrients your body requires. Cambridge diet is very carefully balanced following 20 years of research and ongoing research to date.

At £35 per week Cambridge is NOT expensive at all. The people on mse.com whom spend under £25 per week on shopping are living on high calorie, high carb junk

You won't save £600 on your shopping at all since you do have to eat anyway!

Vez, you have to do what's the best thing for you and your husband. I do the CD and i have a friend who would LOVE to. She tried for 4 weeks and of course, lost a stone BUT the stress caused by the financial outlay just was not worth it for her and her family. She cut her calories and has lost weight. Not as much as if she had been on CD but still, she has done well. She hasn't become ill at all. The body is VERY resiliant and she feels she was more vulnerable to illness when she was obese. Good luck with your plan x

I had a phone call yesterday, my cdc was ill and couldn't see me! But she had arranged for someone else to see me instead, so I went to see her after work tonight, and got my first 'stash'. As I am 5ft 8, I get to have 4 shakes a day, but of course it costs a third more, so I paid out £48 tonight! I decided not to wait until tomorrow to start, as I knew that I would just pig out tonight (last meal and all that), so I have had two shakes tonight, one butterscotch, and one toffe and walnut. Both very nice.

I thought I would be able to discretely shake one up for lunch at work tomorrow, but I think it will need a blender. How easy is the tom soup to make up without a blender?

I make the tomato soup - all of the soups - without a blender.

I mix the powder to a paste in a mug - with the tomato I add a little more cold water - and let it stand for a minute or so, then add the off-the-boil water gradually, stirring all the time

    Another recipe for the 790/810

    Celeriac Chips

Slice a piece off a celeriac and cut into small chips.

Put onto a baking tray and spray with 1 cal oil spray.

    Sprinkle with -

    Curry powder
    Paprika
    Pepper
    Herbs
CD Savoury Drink mix and some herbs maybe

Then bake at 190C for about 15 mins

    They are delicious!!

nb I have had my celeriac for a week now and am still eating it! It goes a long way!

I spend no more than £15 a week, including a bottle of wine! I don't eat junk, I just shop carefully. I wear a size 8-10, and I am fit and healthy. I couldn't imagine ever spending £35 a week on food!

We are talking about dieting here not normal food shopping.

WW, SW, Atkins all take a lot of money for proteins and fruit/veg.

As diets go paying £35 per week for Cambridge is relatively inexpensive.

Also, when you consider, it is not forever.
My journey has been longer since I had a lot of weight to lose but that is just one of those things.

LL is currently £70 per week. Lipotrim is about the same as Cambridge.

We are paying for research, expertise and a scientifically controlled diet which has been proven for over 20 years to work and to keep a body healthy along the way. I know that I am healthy - my monthly blood tests prove that I am healthy.

I am happy with the decision I made to take the Cambridge journey and I would recommend the diet to anyone

Cambridge is a fabulous plan - thank you Dr Alan Howard

Before cambridge I spent atleast £5.00 a day on lunch 5 days a week = £25.00 + a few take aways a week at maybe £20.00 + etc etc. I am saving money on CD. However for those who shop within a certain budget I can appreciate that it may seem costly. I've just had to pay for 3 weeks worth as my CDC has gone on holiday. spending £37.50 X 3 + some mix-a-mousse seemed a harsh blow to my finances at the end of the month. However, atleast I dont have to dip into my salary for the next couple of weeks.

When I was on WW I used go shopping each week and fill the freezer with WW ready meals. They are abot £3.00 - £4.00 a pop. At £8.00 per day for 2, I was spending much more than on CD per week.

Anyway, after amazing you all with my mathematical skills (or lack thereof), I only came to say that I am now classified as 'overweight' and not 'obese'. This has caused me great excitement and is possibly the only excuse for me blabbing on and on above.

Hope everyone had a super duper day x

    Well done!!

    That is a great achievement!

I am sorting myself out to go on holiday on Tuesday. Will collect my tetras and bars next Monday.

The CD ice cream was gorgeous!! Do give it a try if you haven't already!
