If you eat the same amount of calories as your BMR plus exercise etc you will maintain your weight, no question about it, that is scientific fact.

Cambridge is 440/600/810/1000/1200 calories dependent on which Plan we do.

And isnt a womens recommended calorie intake 2000 calories per day?

    I`ve made my point

What I learnt on weight watchers when I lost 5 st 5 yrs ago was that if I eat less and eat healthily I lose weight. I still put the weight back on. Its just not that simple.

    I agree

What I have learnt on Cambridge is that I have a problem with food. It is not just about eating less and eating healthily, it is about confronting your relationship with food, learning what your triggers are, realising that you dont need to eat when your low, allowing you to gain control instead of letting food control your life, realising that you are not going to keel over because you havent had chocolate, alcohol, junk food etc, reprogramming your body and mind so that you can maintain your weight in the future etc etc.

So they offer you counselling then yes?

This is what cambridge offers. It is one of the most established and well researched diets out there. If life was as easy as eating healthily and exercising, this country wouldnt be facing an obesity crisis

    .

Too right, life isnt easy, but people make their own choices, I`m in no doubt the CD works, ive tried it, but i didnt need a milk shake to tell me i had a problem with food, drinking that all day, and not eating, isnt what humans are supposed to do anyway, so isnt that unhealthy?

I dont come onto this thread to have to justify myself, I come here for support from my fellow cambridge dieters and to help new cambridge dieters who might be strruggling or have questions. I am making positive changes in my life thats all thats important to me.

I'm off to have my mousse now, think chocolate mint is on the menu tonight. Hope everyone has had a good day. Dont let yourself get distracted by the easter eggs.

No you haven't made your point at all.

If your BMR plus exercise is 1800 cals per day and you eat 2000 cals per day, you would be taking in 6000 cals per month too much and would gain 2lbs in weight/ 24lbs+ in a year

Not every woman can eat 2000 cals a day and still remain the same weight. As we get older we need less calories, not more. Some people can exist and maintain their weight at 1200 cals or less.

If you don't like the Cambridge diet why are you posting here?

what didnt work for you, doesnt mean it wont for others, the perfect example is c&q who is still losing weight

this is a diet that gives you a stage by stage progress of carrying on losing weight, so your post saying that you only go and put it all back on, is only true for some, there are many ppl who havent done this.

noones asking anyone to post negatively here, theyre all looking for the same support from each other, so maybe you should go and take your comments elsewhere ....

I'm booked in to see a councillor tonight. Dont know what difference it will make . Problem is i didnt weigh myself when i started so I dont know if Ive lost any! I know, completely stupid but I just didnt think about it.
Smile. Its the second best thing you can do with your lips....
  • Make sure that you measure yourself too - even if your CDC doesn't.

Along the way the measurements become very important since we can lose inches but the scales remain the same sometimes.

Hope all goes well for your meeting!
