Yeah I was looking at iphone contracts for the 4S, £33 a month for the amount of minutes I need. So it'll come down when the 5 is out hopefully!

There was a mix up at work today, apparently I wasn't suppose to start till next week! lol. But as I had already signed the contract, they had to pay me for this week, so they asked around see if any other productions needed a Logger or Runner, and there was, so I'm on a different project for a couple of days.

I saved money on the journey home today. If I took the tube all the way zone 1-3 it would have been £3.10. But I walked from Southbank all the way to Camden and caught the tube from there, and it was off peak by the time I got there. So it cost me 95p!

    An update for today:

Spent 59p at lunch on some crisps, I took my sandwich in, but needed a bit extra. So I've went shopping this evening for lunch things, spent £8.60 at Tesco

I decided to do some more walking, to a tube stop so I can get on at off peak. Never made it as far as Camden this time, but I did earn about 50p on the way with the Quidco app, checking into places as I walked past them!

I've been invited down to my favourite pub tomorrow, so will be going, but I'm not going to drink alcohol, unless it's a stressful day then maybe 1 drink lol.
  • Morning Sharon,

Glad to see your still keeping a diary it's really helping me think about every penny.

Well I'm back from pub, spent money on 2 drinks. A diet coke and a bottled cider, oh and a packet of crisps... oh well. That in total cost £6.30. Which isn't bad for Central London, people from more rural areas, will probably be shocked by the price though lol.

And also I did buy food out, whoops. I bought a burger from burger king at £1.99 and a chippy after the pub at £3.90.

I've already overspent my £20 budget this week! Oops. Well, at least it's less than I'd usually spend, and I'm not planning on spending any money in the next 2 days at least. And the weekend I can be boring and stay in.
  • Morning,

Glad you had a good night. Going out is where I spend most of my money I guess at least with our diarys we are tracking/thinking about what we're actually spending and limiting the damage.

Hope you have a good day.
    Catch ya later :)

Hmm 2am and I'm still awake. My mates are at my favourite club, it's rock night on Fridays. I'm jealous, until I realise that I'm actually tired! I did have fun earlier watching the Download coverage, reminds me of good times, I partly wish I was still there, apart from the mud of course. But it made me want a time machine so I could see all the bands! Especially the Prodigy, they were amazing, but I went to see Slash instead, who was on at the same time.

Hmm 2am again lol. But tonight I actually went out to a small music gig. £6 entry, so not bad. I had 1 boozy drink 1 diet coke, so restricted myself there. And I had a good time headbanging away, taking photos and chatting with the bands afterwards.

This is the kind of cheap night I need to have more of instead of the big nights at large gigs or going clubbing where I spend a lot more on booze!

I have a busy 2 weeks coming up. 3 people's birthdays including my future sister in law, my best friend and another friend. Also I have Blink 182 gig to go to, one of those people are having a birthday party next weekend, I have tickets to watch 2 events at the Olympics on 29th and 31st (Tennis, centre court, and Women's football at Wembley), got the cheapest seats of course. So yes, that's going to be my next 2 weeks!

Hi sharon, re your comment about Asda bras I assume you are a larger size. Have a look on eBay for Freya, fantasie etc.... There is a factory shop near my parents and they often have clear outs where everything is like £5. Loads of ppl buy it and sell it on eBay (obv bit more than £5) but still way way cheaper than bravissimo etc! I love their underwear but would never pay full price as I like marching pants and would end up costing £60 for asset with two pants!!

I personally think your £20 budget is a bit low per week (and you overspent anyway!). If you were previously spending £80 on food, £120 holidays, £120 entertainment and £120 ok random things every month, even if you gave yourself say £40 and when it's gone it's gone that's still a massive saving and you are more likely to stick to it. If its too low you will always overspend and will be harder to keep track.

I would recommend giving yourself a separate food budget though as what you need will vary each week and you don't want to wipe out your whole weeks budget just on food.

As you have two years for the wedding I don't think you necessarily need separate savings at the moment. Try getting a massive change pot and sticking everything left at end of week in it and it will soon add. You can review it at the end of the 1st year to make sure you are on track.

As for a second job have a look at the mystery shopping thread on the up your income thread as it is very flexible so you could fit it around what you are currently doing. Many jobs are only released days before they need to be done so you would know if you had free time then. Not going to make you loads but perhaps you could do that to pay for gigs or the wedding?

    Good luck :D

Thanks clippy_girl. Yeah I was a bit over optimistic about sticking to £20! In was going to try to stick to £20 so I had a bit more spending money for the next 2 weeks with all that's going on!

My brother use to do mystery shopping, so I think I might try it. Might get me a free meal or two as well :D

I'm feeling very deaf this morning and my throat is killing me. I woke up at 5am thinking I'd slept for about 8 hours, but actually it was about 3 hours lol.

Looks like I may need to spend some money on stocking up on nurofen cold and flu, it's the only thing that shifts my colds!
