So looking at my banks, I think a new way to work around everything. I have 2 current accounts, both with overdrafts that I'm in. I need to ideally use a different account with no overdraft. Transfer what I think I'll need every week into that account and use it. I think I might still be overspending. I haven't kept up my spending diary this month because of being busy.0

Hey
Hope you have finally recovered from your weekend.
I set up a basic bank account for my entertainment money and it's really helping. I no longer take my bank cards for the other accounts out with me and this month will be my first since I can remember that I don't go over my limit resulting in a massive charge because it has all been controled and I know there is enought money to cover all DD etc :j
Hope you have a good day :wave:emergency fund:£179/ £1000 Uniform/car fund:£

So I was ill most of this week, not from the hangover though lol. But my housemates had it too.
I didn't go to work Monday and Tuesday so that's 2 days wages I missed out on
But I got extended on my job
My contract actually finished yesterday, but I should be working till the 8th Sep now.
And as I'm typing this my brother sent my an invite to go see Green Day at Emirates stadium next year - June 1st! I dread to think of the price! But at least it's pay day in 3 days I think.
My banks looking sorry for itself now, but I did get £21 cashback from Quidco
Off to Argos today to get a copy of my receipt for my 'about to die' telly, because I can't find it. Wish me luck! I need the receipt so they'll fix it or replace it. The TV goes all green and gets wobbly lines every now and then, and I swear one of the sound channels was off last night when listening to the music channels. Either that or it was the music channel messed up0 -
Hi Sharon, hope you're feeling better. Going to see Green Day would be amazing  Good luck with Argos - sometimes when we haven't been able to find a receipt it is possile to show them a statement (if you got it on card) with the date and amount, which a lot of stores accept as proof.Go to the ant, thou sluggard0

Thanks. I decided to phone the store instead of going out in the monsoon rain we're having. They said they don't issue receipts but I could phone customer services for the info, or take the TV into the store to be sent away for repair.
Just got my payslip for this month, it's about right considering I had 2 days off. So I'm happy, especially for being on the right tax code. It's amazing student loan company are on it for a change, usually takes them 3 months to catch up with me lol. So that's £3 to them then!
I need to do a budget for this month now I have the figure. Which is probably what I'll do today, as well as cleaning and tidying the house. It's a mess!0 -
So today I sent an email cancelling my gym membership. I couldn't make it worthwhile, so bye bye gym! Hello £20 a month better off
I do have 1 more payment to make, as you have to give a month's notice.
So cancelling Spotify and the gym means £30 better off a month. Soon adds up
I'm trying to get free entertainment including applying for iTunes festival tickets. I really hope I get at least 1! Didn't get any last year
but I saw the Scissor Sisters the year before.
I've done a budget for each week of September, taking into consideration my plans. So the budget is for food and social
week 1 - £50 (going to paralympic games)
week 2 - £30
week 3 - £50 (going to British Touring Car)
week 4 - £30
So altogether it's £70 social and £90 food budget. Hopefully this is realistic. I do have a lot of food in the freezer and cupboard already
So £160 for food and social. I'll take it out in cash each week, and only use my card if absolutely necessary. I need to get out of the habit of using my card constantly. This budget does exclude the first 2 days of September though, it's a 4 weekly budget.0 -

Aghhh Greenday.... I'm keeping an eye out for their tour dates hoping they do a outside gig. Have you heard they peformed at Reading the whole Dookie album. I'd of killed to be there.
Good luck with the budget next month. xxxemergency fund:£179/ £1000 Uniform/car fund:£

I have a feeling this month will be good with saving money, due to the free activities coming up, namely mostly new TV shows

I'm going over to my brothers tonight for a roast dinner. I'm using up a beef joint that's been in my freezer for ages - it was from the reduced section. He's providing the rest of the food.
I'm going to spend Thursday and Friday in hospital getting my wisdom teeth out and in bed recovering lol. So those will be NSD days0 -
So pay day today

Not that that means much these days lol. Just means I'm temporarily out of my overdraft lol. I've already redistributed some of it, I've transferred money to one overdraft to keep it in the black. It's got about £30 in that account now. It's also got a interest free portion overdraft of £100. So will be using this account to take out my cash for each week.
I've paid off £50 off my nearest to expire 0% card (5 months and over £500 left on it) I'm trying to get this down to at least a couple of hundred before it expires. It's still less interest than my overdrafts though. I think I've done quite well with this 0% in paying it off, it was just under a £1200 debt. I don't know the pin number to this, which is probably a good idea lol.
I should probably pay some money to my mum as well. I still owe her money, might just transfer her a tenner.
Oh well off to work...0 -
So interesting day today. Went on to do some filming for the programme I'm working on, and will be again tomorrow. Well I wasn't filming, just assisting. I didn't have a proper lunch break, so I went Nandos for dinner, and took it to my friends flat in central London. We caught up with a few things, I left and as I was about to leave the lift someone was in front of me trying to get in, guess who it was... Russell Brand!! lol
It was bizarre.
So an interesting but not exactly money saving day today. I did buy my brother's birthday present, only spent £12 so not too bad. Let's hope it arrives before his birthday!0
