  • Thank you MRN - lots of rhubarb still to use up from the garden so the Brulee sounds lush.

  • Mr F has been in the garage all day and he's still in there. A neighbour asked him to do some work on his car. It's an E Type Jag  (I know.. why isn't some of this wealth rubbing off on us?). Mr F couldn't resist the opportunity particularly as it means he gets to drive it. He's only emerged for tea and meals. Probably a good thing as it's taken his mind of the Impact Driver :rotfl:

Shortly after the garage building went up, Mr F came home from work and said "I'm just going into the garage for a bit". I knew then I was a garage widow :rotfl:

    Today's MS activity:
    • a lovely sunny but breezy day today - fabulous drying weather. I got 5 machine loads out and am now looking at the Everest of all ironing piles :rotfl:
    • made pink ginger cordial which is currently steeping and will be ready for bottling tomorrow
    • obsessed about my Fleabay listings a bit
    • Morrocan Meatballs and Eggs with Couscous for dinner tonight and there's plenty left for tomorrow too
    • an NSD
A day out is planned for tomorrow - a local Air Show. We will take a picnic and take advantage of this glorious sunshine.

Hope you're getting a good dose of free Vitamin D too.

  • We had a fabulous time at the Air Show, lots to see, glorious sunshine and we met up with some friends as well. £26 spent in total so under my budget of £30. Tickets were £9 each, an icecream each - £4.50 and a beer for Mr F - £3.50. We took a picnic and some of the Pink Ginger Cordial which we both thought delicious. Good job really because we may be drinking it for a long, long, time :rotfl:Finished the weekend watching the Closing Ceremony at the neighbours over a bottle of (Avi0$) wine.

It's going to be a busy week. Mr F finishes his current job on Friday and starts the new one Monday. One of the Directors of the new company is coming to the house on Friday to take Mr F to pick up his new company car. I am under strict instructions to make myself and the house look beautiful. Mr Director may be staying for lunch too

Friday evening, a friend is delivering the new Landy and will be staying overnight. We're going to take him to the pub for dinner to thank him for his time and will probably need to reimburse his fuel too. So it's already proving to be a money pit!

Saturday night our builder friend and his wife are coming to dinner to celebrate the (almost) finishing of the garage.

So I have a lot of housework to do over the next few days. Fortunately Mr F is away with work tonight. I get a lot more done when he is away. Unfortunately he is working from home on Thursday so will be under my feet then... unless I can find some jobs for him to do in the garage ;)

    So today's plan:
    • go to Step Class. I've had some knee problems over the last few months and the exercise seems to be really helping so I don't want to miss it.
    • post 2 Fleabay items. 2 of the 4 items ending yesterday sold - £63.12 :j We're going to need some extra this month because Mr F's job change is going to leave us short. And.... no, but I still have hope.
    • do the lawn edging. Mr F did the mowing and edging yesterday but he misses bits so I just need to tidy up a bit before the rain moves in
    • get my hair done. I am toooo embarrassed to admit to what I spend on hair cuts. It's the only thing I haven't economised on :o
    • tackle the Everest of all ironing piles
    • a little admin work
That should keep my out of mischief - right, better get on :).

Hope you all have a good week

Got a 'phone call midday from Mr F. The client hadn't done what they needed to so he was coming home. He was due to see them tomorrow as well so now has an unexpected down day. Coincidentally a friend called this afternoon to see if Mr F was free to do a day's work for them tomorrow - which of course he now is. So that's another £120 we can put towards the CC :).

Got all the jobs on the list done :T. Step was really hard today but I still did a bit more this time. I edged the lawn and weeded the flower beds too - just in time because it's been raining here all afternoon. I got to base camp on the Everest of all ironing piles.

My embarrassingly large hairdressing bill has come down a little. They send me a 10% discount voucher on my birthday every year. This year I left it a bit late and the voucher has expired. I asked whether it would still be honoured and they said, not only would they honour it, but I could save it until my next visit as that will be for highlights and the bill will be higher. I thought that was a lovely gesture :)

Popped into the charity shops whilst I was in the market town and picked up a sweet little picture for my guest room. It's a bit bare in there so I've been looking out for some bits and pieces and it was only £3. Last of the big spenders me :rotfl:(well... probably as far as hair cuts are concerned).

    Tomorrow's jobs:
    • bake cookies (ginger!) :rotfl:. I'm popping up to a friends for tea in the afternoon so want to take a little contribution
    • food shopping. 0cad0 have sent me a voucher for 20% off so I might try and take advantage of that before using my final Waitr0$£ voucher. I'll have to work out the time limits to see if I can wangle it.
    • clean the hall, stairs and landing. It's like the Forbidden Forest in my house at the moment there are so many spiders
    • some more admin work
    • some personal paperwork. I've been pants at filing stuff away and now have a pile of filing to rival the ironing pile! I need a tactic to start tackling it. I thought I could maybe do 5 pieces of paper a day - actioning and filing. Come on magic diary, do your work.
    • more ironing
Oh the glamour of my life :rotfl:I actually really love pottering around and doing domestic things. After a 30 year career in a pressurised role it's bliss not to have the stress.

Off to rest my Step weary self now. Night all.

I challenge you to clear as much of the paperwork mountain as you can while the ginger cookies are in the oven.... !!!

I've been lmao reading all about the ginger and the steps..... Good luck with both and that's for the smiles...
  • Where has the time gone today? Still, I got a bit of everything on my list done:
    • baked ginger cookies. Had to try one of course before I made a gift of them... well it might have been 2... or 3... or 4:eek:
    • used my £25 voucher for Waitr0$£ today. Thank goodness for it as well. It's an expensive shopping week what with all the entertaining we've got planned for the weekend
    • dusted the hall, landing and guest room but didn't get round to the hoovering so that will have to be done tomorrow (so several arachnids will meet their end then :D)
    • a bit of admin work
    • some personal paperwork :T - including the request to cash in Mr F's Premium Bonds and a response form from N$&I who've found his Nati0nal $aving$ C£rtificat£$. The magic diary strikes again! Also reconciled the joint account and made a diddy PAD to the CC
    • broke the back of the Everest ironing pile - just some sheets to do now.
    So tomorrow I will:
    • hoover the hall, landing and guest room
    • go to a local community meeting
    • clean the living and dining rooms
    • do a bit more admin work
    • 5 pieces of personal paperwork
    • get to the summit of Everest!
You can call me Tenzing Norgay.

I'd probably get to the end of the ginger before I got to the end of the pile :rotfl:
