Mr F is working from home today so it doesn't really feel like Monday. We got to have a bit of a lie in and having him around the house makes it feel more like the weekend. I will keep the fantasy alive for as long as possible :rotfl:
The weekend wasn't as expensive as I thought it was going to be:- Mr F was away at a 4x4 thingy. He camped and I packed up supplies for him to take with him so the only cost was fuel. That came out of his personal spends budget.
- had some girlie friends round for supper on Friday. Food from the cupboards and freezer. I provided one bottle of wine and the girls brought another two with them. One is still sitting in my fridge so I broke even on the alcohol
- spent Saturday recovering from a hangover and living on the leftovers from Friday
Is it wrong to have Aft£r £ight$ for breakfast? Thank you everyone for your well wishes.
- met an old work colleage for a pub lunch on Sunday. Cajun Salmon with new potatos and salad, crunchy toffee pie and two coffees - £18.95. Met that one from my personal spends budget.
- remembered to visit $wagbuck$. Got 2 surveys in a row so the buck$ are adding up already
- now up to £9.25 on Va1u£d 0pinion$ - so close and yet so far
- 11 items on Fleabay (6 relists and 5 new). I've got 4 watchers on the ladder already so I'm hopeful we'll recoup our costs on that :rotfl: I'm intending to put a couple more things on today.
- we received a letter about his mortgage PPI claim. The signature they hold on file differs from the signature he gave so they need him to go into a branch with proof of his id. What they mean is that they didn't receive a signature as he complained online but that's standard letters for you. Fortunately there is a branch in our small local town so he can pop out today to do that.
- chase up his tax return
- chase up the whereabouts of his Pr£mium Bond$ and Nationa1 1n$uranc£ Certificate$
- chase up the whereabouts of his mum and dad's Pr£mium Bond$
May all your spends be little ones

Hi Katsu - no... you don't... you can't... do you drive a 'rice burner'?
That's what Mr F calls all non-Landy off road type vehicles.

The trouble with Mr F being at home is I get very little done. First he wants a cup of tea, then he wants feeding, then he can't find that critical piece of paper he needs because he's had a man's look :rotfl:
It definately wasn't a NSD today. Because Mr F's work base is from home we get a second 'phone line, broadband and a printer provided by the company. All that will go when he starts the new job. So I did some research on broadband and put a call into the Telecom company that is British:- £13 per month for the broadband
- £10.75 per month for the line rental
- £6.95 for delivery of the hub
- free Anytime calls for a year
- £25 Sainsbury's gift card
buuuuut it means my total bill over the next year will only be about £15 more than usual
. Well they do say you have to speculate to accumulate.
Other MS stuff:- tried a bit of PADing to the CC. Well sort of. I keep my accounts on a software package and have decided to PAD when this shows odd pennies rather than when my bank account does. Safer because my accounts package shows the balance after all the DDs have been taken out.
- posted a couple of Fleabay items
- dug deep in the cupboards for this evening's meal - Spicy Tuna Balls in Tomato Sauce with Spaghetti. Meal plan has gone to pot (pun intended :rotfl:) because I ticked the 'no substitutions' box when I did my Waitr0$e online order this week.
- Mr F did all the things on his MS list today plus found an odd £8 in a savings account which he transferred to the CC - he's learning

What a dilemma! We had decided not to apply for tickets because of a) the expense and b) the thought of the transport chaos in London. However, London is looking relatively calm and Mr F thinks he'll regret it if he doesn't go so:
- We don't live far from London so it will only cost about £19 each to get there
- We can take lunch with us
- It's a once in a life time opportunity
- There are tickets available for the gymnastics final!
- We each have enough in our personal spends accounts to buy the tickets
- it's sooooo expensive. There are only Category C tickets remaining and they are £185 each
On the MS front:- a 3rd Waitr0$£ shop and I used my £15 voucher code. Made sure I allowed for substitutions this time :rotfl:
- did a couple of hours of admin work
- The Tax Office should have processed Mr F's tax rebate by now but they haven't (surprise, surprise). They've put a reminder on the system but it may take another 3 weeks. Every contact we have had with the Tax Office in the last 7 years has been a tragic story of incompetence and ineptitude. It really riles me that our tax is paying for such a shabby system and we all become victims to it. And... the rebate's earmarked for the CC and will hopefully make a huge dent. Rant over
Bye for now

Hi Fortune,
I would go to the Olympics. You have enough money in your personal spends account, it is a chance of a lifetime opportunity and you may regret not going. It's indoors so no rain will ruin the day. You can pack a nice picnic (marmite sandwiches all round) and will have great memories.

Thank you everyone for your sage advice - which I would have taken if only tickets had still been available
. I will keep an eye on the website to see if any more are released but in the meantime, at least the £370 is still sitting in the bank
.
On the upside:- made the leftover tuna balls mixture into spicy tuna burgers which I served with a fried egg on top accompanied by gourmet oven chips and beans :rotfl:
- finally got enough Valu£d 0pini0n$ surveys rewarded to get another Amaz0n voucher and ordered the lamps :j £63 pounds worth for £14.72
- a diddy PAD to the credit card - that's 3 so far
- 3 of the latest Fleabay items will sell. Not the ladder yet but it does have 5 watchers.
- another fridge surprise dinner tonight - New Potato, Spring Onion and Cheddar Quiche with salad. Waitrose have delivered today though so we're back on menu plan.
Have a good evening all
