Hi Katsu - I have quite a new Landy which doesn't cost me anymore in fuel than my previous small car did. Mr F does all the servicing and repairs which saves us £00's each year. We are very rural here and live on a hill. I resorted to a 4x4 after several winters of snow and flooding when I couldn't get out of the drive. She doesn't go out very often either now I am at home. Sure I could find a more MS car but, I really love her and am hoping she will last forever. She may be my biggest lilly! You've made me think though so for the first time I've worked out how much she costs me - £1049 per year (including insurance, MOT, servicing and fuel) so £87 per month. I haven't got anything to compare that with though so can't tell whether it's high or low.

Or... are you not a fan?

Woken up by the chickens at 5.15 this morning . I rushed out to see what monster was attacking them to find a calm and sunny morning devoid of ravenous creatures intent on eating chickens. Somewhere in the distance though I could hear a frantic cockerel crowing and lots of squawking ducks so I wonder if Mr Fox was paying a visit somewhere else and the chooks could hear :(.

    MS activity today:
    • 10 of my Fleabay items sold - £70.98 in total :j. 5 have been paid for already so I went down to the village and sent them off.
    • Whilst I was there, I popped into the teeny tiny NatW3st to see if they really did exchange pre-decimal currency. They do indeed and I am now £2.85 richer. 85p for the Marmit£ Jar and £2 for my purse :rotfl:
    • I also found 10p under the sofa cushions whilst I was cleaning so Mr Marmit£ has been well fed today.
    • Not a NSD though. Mr F's road tax was due, however, all budgeted for so not too much pain involved.
    • Also saw the builder today and it seems that the guttering may not cost as much as I thought. I think I'll keep any surplus in the savings for the time being though - just in case.
    • Some interest has been credited to our savings account - £35.95. Not a great deal but enough to bump us up another 1% closer to our savings target
    • A cupboard lunch of Carrot & Parsley Soup with rolls and Somerset Stew & Cheddar Mash from the meal plan for dinner. There's enough left over for dinner tomorrow night too.
I'm really surprised that I've still got MS things to list - thought I'd have run out by now. Just goes to show, it really is a mindset change. Long may it continue!

    Have a good night all

Got up at 6.00 am to a very foggy day. Peering through the haze I could just see my neighbour Mrs W standing at the gate to her field, hair in curlers, dressing gown on, arms folder. Suddenly she strode off in the direction of Mr P's house (another neighbour) and I realised that the fog was in fact smoke from a bonfire he had lit (I know it's 6.00 am in the morning!). He will insist on burning 'green' garden waste which makes the smoke very heavy. It stays close to the ground and invades our gardens and houses. Mrs W got the worst of it this morning. Words were had apparently and the fog lifted very shortly afterwards :rotfl:

Not so much on the MS side today:

    • Mr F's Amaz0n voucher arrived from N£ctar. I have added this to my Amaz0n account to go towards the J0hn L£wi$ lamps. Now I just need my survey total to go up that final £1.50 so I can add another voucher and place the order.
    • The Avi0$ wine arrived - looks like a great selection too. I checked them all on the Laithwait£$ site and the reviews were good. Not bad for 11500 points.
    • A cupboard lunch and the rest of the Somerset Stew and Cheddar Mash for dinner.
    • An NSD.
Mr F has gone out to meet a friend for a drink so I think I will have an early night and take sole control of the remote :rotfl:.

Thanks Cariad71. I'm still very enthusiastic but am down to the smaller everyday MS things now so I hope I still have something to write about! Thanks for popping in.

I jest of course. The only board I've been surfing today is the ironing board... for hours! I don't mind ironing though, gives me a chance to catch up on the telly. Mr F and I have very different tastes (mine usually involve Mr Darcy or an Inspector of some sort). So it was just me and Tony Hill all afternoon :rotfl:

Kept me out of trouble on the spending side of things so MS today:

    • Baked Cheese Scones and we had them warm filled with ham for breakfast this morning.
    • Did a Waitr0$£ online shop and used the first of my vouchers. This week's was for £10, next week's is for £15 and so on.
    • Researched a few of Mr F's items for Fleabay listing tomorrow. I'm going to try my luck with the ladder as well.
    • Almost everyone has paid for my Fleabay items from Sunday so I transferred the money from my PayPa1 account.
    • A cupboard lunch and Egg Curry from the menu plan for dinner. One of my favourite store cupboard meals - really easy to make, delicious and, of course, we always have eggs in the house.
Hope the sun is still shining on you.

On my way to the village this morning I found myself behind a couple on a tandem. Now that's really MS I thought. No fuel, no tax, no insurance... and you only have to buy one bike! :rotfl:They did look a bit hot and bothered though.

Had to go to the teeny tiny Natw£$t again to get some money out for the builder. He'd asked us to hold some money back for him as he knew he'd have to come back once the new drive had settled to re-level and sand. All in the garage pot though so no impact on the figures.

    MS activity for the day:

    • another pre-decimal coin exchange - 25p for Mr Marmit£
    • 3 more Fleabay items sent off. All the money has now been paid.
    • all the unsold items relisted plus a further 3. I'd intended to do another 7 but something is up with Fleabay tonight and it keeps logging me out. Put the ladder on too :o.
    • earn't some $wa9buck$ - must remember to go on everyday.
    • Cupboard lunch of cheese and red onion rolls and Courgette Carbonara (courtesy of Mr Oliver) for dinner. Another favourite - I can get it from fridge to table in 15 mins.
I'm ashamed to say that I did pop into the Farm Shop whilst in the village with the full and certain intent of buying a slice of malt£z£r tiffin (Thursday is delivery day). But they had none . Fate had taken a hand to save me from myself. Can't help feeling just a tiny bit deprived :(

So original plan for last night: send Mr F to 4x4 competition thing in wet, welsh Wales; invite girlie friend over for supper and wine (courtesy of Avi0$ :)). Then... invite received for night out with the girls to see local band so rearranged for girlie friend and I to join them. Last minute... band trip cancelled so revert to plan A. However... no special food in now for plan A supper. Never mind... Waitr0$£ delivering am, will pick something from this week's meal plan. Oh no... ticked 'no substitutions' by mistake when ordering and several meal plan items not with shopping. Panic.. 2nd girlie friend now coming and bringing her DD1! Panic over... managed to rustle up Cauliflower and Broccoli Macaroni Cheese with a Chilli and Coriander Crust plus Plum and Maple Syrup Crumble with cream for desert. Thank goodness for BBCG00dF00d and the hidden depths of the freezer :rotfl:Oh oh... many, many glasses of wine drunk :(

Does having a hangover and spending the day lying on the sofa count as MS? I am surviving on the leftovers?

    Bleurgh...
