I am ridiculously excited about the arrival of the lamps today :j Wasn't that quick - I only ordered them yesterday. They came in the proper J0hn Lewi$ boxes and everything. I've set them up already and moved the old lamps to the guest room which will help to make it a bit more homely in there. Mr F is very pleased too. He wanted task lamps so that he could direct the light, said that the old lamps made it hard to read. Nothing to do with his age then :rotfl:
My neighbours little girls came over for tea. We had mocktails, sandwiches with the crusts cut off and cut into little triangles (cheese and cucumber, peanut butter, strawberry jam and salmon paste and cucumber). Mini chocolate eclairs, mini bakewell tarts and mini mango cheesecakes. Finished off with some caramel chocolate icecream. Spent the afternoon playing old fashioned games like dominos and snakes and ladders. I don't know who enjoyed it most - me or them.
Other good news is that Mr F got a call from Nati0nwid£ about the PPI. They wanted a few more details about past addresses. He asked when a decision would be made and they said they had a lot of information about the case and he should hear in about two weeks. We won't hold our breath though. It's a genuine case of mis-selling. Mr F was in the Armed Forces at the time so a PPI policy would not have paid out if he'd made a claim.
Even more good news. Mr F sold one of his things through a 4x4 Forum recently and the guy came to pick it up today. While he was here he bought something else so we are £100 up on the day :T All earmarked for the credit card though.
Add a couple more sales on Fleabay and a NSD. Fortune is definately smiling on us today.
Hope you've had good luck today too.

Went to a local community group meeting this morning. We meet once a month to discuss news in the Parish and initiate/get involved in local projects. Traditionally we always have coffee and a bun and who am I to argue with tradition. We met in a local village tea shop this time which is very reasonable so just a small treat.
Popped into the market town after to pay in Mr F's forum sales money and post some Fleabay items. Also picked up some dishwasher tablets in the C0-0p as they were on offer (52 all-in-one tablets for £5.00). They are on the shopping list for next week so sort of a planned spend.
Mr F and I have been a little over enthusiatic in trying to clear the CCs. He now has £19 in his personal spends to last the month and there is only £21.77 in the houshold account once all the bills and budgeted items come out (not helped by the paying up front of the 'phone line rental - although this will save us in the long run)I am sure I can shave a bit off the food budget though as I still have two Waitr0$e vouchers left - one for £20 and one for £25. Plus I am still listing on Fleabay so hopefully this will see us through until pay day.
I'm not sure what is going to happen pay wise over the next few weeks as Mr F is starting his new job soon. I think he may be joining the new company a little too late to get on payroll for August so I am anticipating having to do some juggling.
Supper is calling - King prawn risotto with lobster sauce tonight (thank you Dehlia). Might open a bottle of Avi0$ wine to go with it, it is the weekend after all.
Hope you have a good one.

Got a text from DSS2 today saying that he has set up a DD to repay us the £400 he owes us! He borrowed it in January and I'd given up hope of ever seeing it again. He may have been shamed into action as I recently sent him details of some Pr£mium B0nd$ we discovered in his name. He immediately said that he was going to cash these in and go on holiday. He may have (quite rightly) assumed that I wouldn't be very happy if he put going abroad on holiday before paying his debts
. The first payment of £40 is going into the savings account at the end of August.
Other MS for today:- turned 2 very brown and sulky bananas into banana muffins for breakfast this morning
- made a little PAD to the credit card
- earnt lots of $wagbuck$ as they had an extravaganza today
- baked salmon and noodles from the meal plan for supper made with green beans from the garden. Opened a bottle of Avi0$ wine to go with it. I discovered a long forgotten open bottle of white in the fridge so made do with the dregs of that last night
- earmarked a few more items for listing on Fleabay on Thursday. The ladder hasn't sold yet
Another block of sales is coming to an end tomorrow so fingers crossed.

How on earth did that happen? :rotfl:0 -

Well, my Fleabay items did spectacularly badly today. I'm blaming it on the Olympics - every one of the end times on my items clashed with a climatic British medal winning event. And... I am still the owner of one shiny, new and unwanted ladder
. I have relisted it with a buy it now price.
Still, I did manage a little MS today:- 2 items sold on Fleabay - £7.48, and lots of items relisted
- researched gutttering costs for the garage
- another risotto for dinner tonight - Baked Carbonara (thanks again Dehlia). Not on the meal plan as we've already had risotto this week but I had a little cream to use up
- looked up class times at the gym and am planning to go to Body Step tomorrow morning. I rejoined the gym a few weeks ago and usually go with the local mums in the afternoon. The mums aren't going at the moment though because of the school holidays so I really must get motivated to go on my own
- Mr F did some maintenance on my Landy
- A NSD
Have a good week

I did it, I went to the gym - 9.30 am Step class. And, I really enjoyed it and managed all the routines (low versions for two tracks though). It's made a difference all day as I've felt more energetic and have gots lots done. What motivated me to go? I'm wondering whether something happens when you write things in your diary that magically means they get done. Or was it because I couldn't face the embarrassment of telling you all I'd wimped out :rotfl: Going to try Zumba on Wednesday - got to make sure I get maximum value from my membership!
Some recovery from yesterday's Fleabay tragedy. A lady contacted me to say that, yes she had been distracted by the Olympics during the critical bidding period but would she still be able to buy. Absolutely I said. She picked up tonight so a nice crisp tenner is now sitting in my purseOne of the new items I listed has also sold so another tenner will be on its way soon. The ladder has 3 watchers already... WATCHERS?... it's on as a Buy It Now - so BUY IT!
An NSD, a cupboard lunch and Sausage Ragu and Spinach Pasta Bake for dinner from the menu plan.
Now magic diary - what do you intend to do about this ladder?:rotfl:
Have a good evening

Thanks Megela. Great to have you on board. I have a very ordinary (but Fortunate) life so I'm astonished that people are reading. It's lovely to have the support

Mr F got a letter from his current employer to let him know his pay packet would be light on pay day  - 4 days holiday he owes them and more because he is leaving before the full month is up. The holiday amount didn't sound right to me so Mr F checked and, sure enough, they had fogotten how to count and he only owes them 2 days. Mr F boldly suggested that they might write off the remaining 2 days on account of the many, many hours he'd worked. I didn't hold out much hope but they got back to him today to say they will :j. That means that any loss this month should be recouped next month as there isn't a gap between the jobs. Might have to juggle a little but no actual loss. Note to self: be cheeky - it pays.
It was lovely to have a bit of MS good news today as I'm finding it a bit frustrating waiting for the Tax Man, et al to get their act together. If everyone paid up the CC would be cleared and we'd be closer to our savings goal (taps fingers on the table impatiently).
Another NSD today and the remains of last night's Sausage Ragu & Spinach Pasta Bake for dinner. I'm intending to work off the damage at Zumba tomorrow
Not gonna even mention the ladder
Hope your diaries are working their magic for you.
