Well done Mr F (which sort of makes up for the............)A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Please don't encourage him gallygirl - he's been strutting about all night going on about what a good MSE he is! Still it was a bit of a result so he has been awarded GH (Good Husband) points :rotfl:Mortgage: 100% paid Emergency Fund: 100%

I like to end on a positive note so bad news first:
- I didn't get to go to Zumba. Got an upset tummy and was up all night
. I was really looking forward to it as well. This sometimes happens if I have too much meat or wheat in my diet so I've had to choose something from the meal plan for tonight that has neither - Prawn, Pea & Tomato Curry. Kill or cure :rotfl:
- ordered 1kg of ginger instead of 1 small pack by mistake. Suggestions on ginger use welcome :rotfl:
- letter arrived from Nati0nwid£ this morning saying that they are not upholding our PPI complaint so I've started the complaint process with the Financial Ombudsman. Could take up to 12 months
- oh, I don't think I need to mention the 'L' word do I
- finally got Mr F to complete a change of address form for his Pr£mium B0nd$. We can't cash these in until they have the right details on their system
- also got him to 'phone up to find out what to do about some long lost Nati0nal $aving$ C£rtifcat£$. We have to write in
- Waitr0$£ delivered and I used my £20 new customer voucher (just the £25 one left now). Also got all my bread products free this time as they had short use by dates. No problem as they all go in the freezer anyway
- got Mr F to 'phone up about an old endowment policy he's been paying the premiums on since he was 17 (I have been nagging him today). It has eight years to run and will be worth £18k . But if we cashed it in now it would be worth £13k . Does this count towards the £12k savings goal? We're going to let it run as it's only £19 per month but so reassuring to know we could have the cash available if need be :j. It's been worrying me that our savings are so low when Mr F is changing jobs
- a NSD and a small PAD to the CC.
Hoping good luck is coming your way too

A friend called today and offered Mr F a classic Series Landy! He is moving and looking for a good home for it and some of the others in his collection (I don't know how we came to know these rich people, we really don't move in illustrious circles :rotfl:). Apparently it is a "Project" - roughly translated as 'Money Pit' me thinks. I suppose it will keep Mr F out of trouble but I will have to keep a close eye on his credit card!
Not a NSD today but:- ordered the guttering for the garage. £119.47 with 10% off at Wick£$. Budgeted for in the garage pot so no impact on the figures
- listed some more of Mr F's 4x4 things on Fleabay. A couple are quite high value items so it would be great if they sell. And before you ask... no
- the remaining Prawn, Pea and Tomato Curry with Peshwari Naan for dinner
- earnt my first $wagbuck$ voucher. £5 Amaz0n. Good job too. I usually keep my Amaz0n vouchers to buy Kindl£ books but emptied the pot buying the lamps. I am nearly at the end of my current read so will need a new one soon.
Don't go looking any gift horses in the mouth now

What a lovely kind friend :T. Surely a gift is in order, something unusual you just happen to have lying about the place

Aww shucks MW - that's very kind of you. I've been following your diary too. I'm very impressed with your progress on both reducing the size of your mortage and increasing the size of your family! Congratulations on Baby MW.Mortgage: 100% paid Emergency Fund: 100%

Went to Step Class again :A. Mr F and I each have to use the gym twice a week to make the monthly membership worthwhile. Really enjoyed it and improved on Monday's performance
MS type stuff today:- the guttering for the garage arrived
- popped into the village to post a couple of Fleabay items
- bought some lemons and citric acid to make pink ginger cordial. I've frozen the rest so that that should mean I don't have to buy ginger again for about...oh...20 years!
- dropped a cheque into the window cleaner on the way to the village - saved the cost of a stamp :rotfl:
- bought the lemons in the Farm Shop. They had Maltezer Tiffin and................. I didn't buy any
"What for" says I
"I need to get something" says Mr F
"What" says I.
"An impact driver"
"How much are they then"
"Depends, between £70 and £500"
I put my foot down. He has less than £19 in his personal spends at the moment and won't be getting any more until Friday. I think he was hoping to sneak off and put it on his credit card. He's disappeared off somewhere now in a strop. 51 years old going on 7 :rotfl:
Gnocchi with Two Cheeses and Bacon for dinner tonight. Mr F might not be getting any :rotfl:
Have a great weekend

Hi Fortune...
Some more ginger ideas for you:
Rhubarb brulee with ginger (I think it's a Deliah recipe)
Chicken noodle soup with chilli and ginger (great for Mondays to use up left over roast chicken and stock)
Chicken korma (Jamie Oliver recipe uses ginger for the paste and the curry itself)MFW: Nov 2008 £156k, Jun 2015 £129k, Jun 2017 £114k.0
