  • Hi Greying

I'm a 3 eM fan too. Expensive but reliable. Plus they do glues specifically for artists and for use on materials where bleed through might be a problem.

You might want to have a browse on the Curti$ Ward or Art Di$count sites. That will give you an idea of the ranges available.

Thanks Fortune - I'll have a gander. Sometimes, it pays to pay doesn't it? It's only for silly little postcards that i'm making from pics I take, but I need it to work easily and tidily. I get sticky enough handling Baby Greying as it is :rotfl:

  • Hello Forum Friends

I hope all have had a very, merry Christmas. We have had a lovely, busy, festive time of things with the DSS's and partners.

My torn intercostal muscles caused a bit of a problem in the run up so I had to par my efforts down as much as possible (hence my absence from my diary). However, all went pretty much to plan and to budget and much fun has been had.

Our guests left yesterday so Mr F and I are having a lazy morning after which the focus will be on:
    • decluttering leftovers. We had a second Christmas Dinner for supper last night and the final four Mince Pies also hit the dust. The Mince Pies were my very first attempt and I was pleased with the way they turned out. Thank you Mary for the filling and Paul for the pastry ;)
    • putting the house back in order.
    • preparing for Mr F's next business trip - he leaves on the 3rd :(

It was lovely having everyone here for Christmas but it's nice to have the house back to ourselves and quiet again. We have a low key New Year celebration planned so it's all R&R from now until 2017.

Thanks for all the advice and for checking in on me.

  • So far so goodish.

    The de-cluttering is going well:
    • the last Christmas Tree chocolate
    • the final two slices of Christmas Cake
    • the Christmas Pudding - although I resigned it to the bin as neither of us can face any more rich food :o There was only a little left.

The house is back in order and I have put two loads of washing through in advance of Mr F's next trip.

Tomorrow I am going out on a bike ride. I haven't been on a bike since I was 12 which was a very, very long time ago. Mr F and I have been saying for a while that our health and fitness is our top priority, however, we rarely give it any time, effort or money. Well, that has to stop in 2017. We have both had some minor health issues this year and I don't want there to be any more if they can be prevented. We have a beautiful cycle park close by, Mr F already has a bike and I have a girlfriend who has just started riding again too. So lots of opportunities to, well, get on my bike :p The only spanner in the works was that I didn't actually have one so Mr F and I went shopping in the sales today and I am now the proud owner of a shiny new bike. I'm blimming terrified! Wish me luck.

On a slightly more MS note, I am currently removing the sequins from a Christmas jumper so that I can get more wear from it. It's taking rather longer than I expected :o

    Have a great evening all

Good luck with the bike riding! I didn't learn until I was 29/30 and I'm still not very confident but you'll be fine at a cycle park. I'm always surprised at how exhausting it is at first and how sore my behind gets! You'll be whizzing along like Victoria Pendleton in a few weeks! :-)

Thank you Amy. I rode a bike throughout my childhood but have only got in the saddle once since the age of 12! I have bought very padded shorts... and I have a very padded bottom :rotfl:

  • Went out to the cycle park today although we almost didn't get there. Mr F was certain that both bikes would fit into my truck... they didn't, however we eventually managed to get them into the company car. A bike rack will be required for future trips.

I think I did quite well for a beginner. I didn't fall off, I didn't run anyone over and I almost completed the course (just got off a couple of times on the up hill bits). A little bit proud of myself actually.

Our later than planned start meant we were getting hungry half way round so we stopped at the cafe for coffee and a sandwich. The cost will be met from January's fun money as our budget doesn't follow the calendar month exactly. The coffee was good and hot and the sandwiches fresh so good value.

Mr F cleaned the bikes up when we got back so I could recover from my exertions :D A nice hot bath with some special bubbles with arnica, comfrey and seaweed for a bruised and battered body plus lemon, pine, juniper and lavender to revitalise. The bubbles came free with an order of Christmas presents so I kept them for myself :p And I'm glad I did - they were lovely :)

We're having a sit down now but I can hear the washing machine bleeping so will have to get up and put another load on if I'm to have Mr F ready for his next business trip.

I can hear him in the kitchen munching something too so perhaps I'd better start supper.

Cauliflower & Bacon Pasta is on the plan for tonight.

Happy weekend everyone... I think, I've lost track :rotfl:
