  • I'm glad you are staying - I do value your support - you work to get your lillies and you deserve them and yes you should still post as you look at ways to reduce costs so that you can have the lillies - some ideas of which I take on board.

Keep up the good work :j
  • Happy Valentine's weekend everybody! If you get any anonymous cards tomorrow, it was me - I love you all.

    I'm a happy MS'er this week:
    • we're on track with savings for holiday spends
    • I'm getting a little more tour work in which should cover clothes costs
    • I've managed to save enough from the household budget to cover the cost of some birthday jewellery. I'm having the stones from an heirloom redesigned into something more modern and wearable. Much cheaper than buying new and it continues a tradition
    • received the payment for my latest commission (you can see it here https://www.facebook.com/BeeGardenArt/ if you fancy a peek)
    • and everything else is ticking along according to my usual MS habits :T
I've been continuing with the creative writing and have started submitting to publications and entering a few competitions. Not sure I'll get anywhere but I thought I'd give it a go. Who knows where these things might lead.

I am cooking a Valentine's Curry Fest for Mr F and some friends tomorrow. Will be fun and low cost too!

    Love and hugs

Hello everyone. I hadn't intended to disappear for so long but life got busy and exciting :D

Since I've been gone I've travelled half way round the world and back and passed a milestone birthday.

It was an amazing adventure and now I'm back trying to get over the jet lag and into some sort of routine. And where better to get some focus than here on the Forum. So aims are:
    • get the rainy day savings back up to scratch. We stayed largely within budget for the holiday, however, some other expected costs came up a bit early and we've dipped in a bit
    • take advantage of this lovely sunny weather to get the holiday washing mountain dry
    • cook up a storm - I have really missed cooking whilst we've been away :o
    • call into work to let them know I'm back and available
    • tackle the increasing ironing pile.
We have some further expensive events coming up this year so our general focus is to make sure we've got those covered. Plus I want to concentrate on health and wellbeing. We're fine at the moment but diet and exercise went out of the window whilst we were away.

I hope everything has been going well your end and I am looking forward to catching up with everyone's diaries.

    Glad to be home

Hi there! Any photos you can share of the holiday? It sounds wonderful! And how has the writing been going, have you done any while you've been away? Longing to hear :) and good to have you back :)

    Karma - Yay! :hello:

How are you? Unusually for us, we took hundreds of photos so I need to have a sit down and sort them out. Will post a selection.

There was no time for writing at all but I did do lots of thinking and have a story in mind inspired by the trip.

    Hiya :hello::hello::hello:

Once I bought a digital camera, the number of photos I took increased by a factor of about a thousand :)

And absolutely, a trip away isn't for writing, its for getting new material, hurray :)

I get emailed links for free kindle books, and one of them was the very simple story of an American who went au pairing in 1979 ... I could do that! Interestingly, she still works at promoting it, 5 years after she wrote it - this writing lark just keeps on going :)

I posted a reply to this thread, but it seems to have disappeared - but the gist of it was welcome back, and I'd love to see your travel pics when you get a chance
