Oh my!
My wheelie bins were lined up against a wall this morning, not diagonally into the corner as they normally are. I wonder if mine had been making a bid for freedom and somebody popped into my front garden to ask them to be quiet? Hmmm ....
Counting blessings, as well as wheelie bins, is lovelyStay calm through it all, you're nearly there!
Our wheelie bins are back where they should be with a few more scars to mark their adventures :rotfl:Goldiegirl wrote: »Hi, FS, good to 'see' you again
It's been very windy recently. We bought a new bird table this year, with small 'holes' so only smaller birds can go in. Trouble is, it's got small 'feet' too, and blows over when it gets windy, which hasn't been good recently.
We've also had mice in the attic, but I think our sonic mouse repellent is now keeping them away
Hi Goldie
nice to 'see' you too. No further sign of mice today so I think we may have got them all. It's the bad weather driving them in. I feel sad we can't give them a home but they are a bit gross.

Well I'm almost there, just a couple of things to do tomorrow morning and then I can relax.
- cleaned the bathrooms and the house is finally presentable
- did the on-line grocery shop for my New Year visitors. The deadline is on Sunday and I knew I'd forgot or be too busy to complete it. I'd been holding the delivery date with 5 bottles of champagne so that would have made for an interesting meal plan :rotfl:
- made Potato, Parsnip & Pea Curry to take over to a friends for a birthday celebration tonight. Really tasty and a great way to use up Christmas Day leftovers. I've also put out a bottle of Prosecco from the wine rack to take and some beer from Mr F's stash.
2 more sleeps peeps!

Happy New Year everybody! I hope you all had a wonderful festive break. I had a good time but, as always, am a little poorer and a little fatter for that :rotfl:
Our last visitors left yesterday so I've been able to take the decorations down and start putting the house back in order.
Now I have a little more time, I'll have a think about how things went last year and what the focus should be in 2016. It's going to be an exciting year :j
MSing today:- menu planned for the next week based around the festive leftovers. I should be able to use them all up all and save this week's shopping money
- Leftover carrots and oranges made a nice Carrot, Lentil & Orange Soup for our lunch. There's lots of bread in the freezer so I used up some rolls too. There's enough for our lunch tomorrow as well
- tonight's supper will be Sausage, Salami and Pepper Stew. There are several deli meat packs open in the fridge so that should declutter those nicely. Plus I have peppers sulking in the fridge and I don't think they'll last much longer
- this evening will be spent making a 'craft' item to donate to WI fund raising and carrying out a home manicure - it was nice knowing you purple glitter but it's time to move on to a more civilised look :rotfl:
Best wishes

Review
I'm very pleased with our progress over 2015. The highlights were:- booking and paying for a big holiday for my big birthday this year
- meeting 100% of our contribution target for DS2's wedding
- meeting 95% of our savings target
- adding a monthly budget category for 'Random Acts of Kindness'.
A few things were accomplished in the house, mainly replacement items including a new tumble drier and iron (I blew ours up just before Christmas).
Future Focus
This isn't going to sound very MS but I'm planning to spend some money - we'll need clothes and spending money for the holiday
- there will be travel, accommodation and clothes costs for the wedding
- there's still 5% to go to meet our savings target
- once our 2 big life events have happened I'd like to save for a second bathroom.
The 2016 plan is, therefore, daily bread with the occasional, enormous bouquet! EXCITED!!!

Well as much as things are ever normal around here :rotfl:
Thank you everyone for your kind comments. I am determined to make the best of every moment of 2016 - whether I'm adventuring in an exotic country or cleaning the toilets  I'm only going to live that moment once so I'm going to live it well.
I have properly de-Christmassed today, although I may still be finding bits of glitter around until August.
Nothing much decluttered food wise as we still had soup and stew from yesterday to use up.
The recent bad weather has brought the mice in (again) we've caught four so far and counting. The joys of country life.
I haven't spent any money today :T
Hope work went well for anyone going back today.
