Sorry, was just lurking through diaries and found your recipe for citrus and mustard salmon. My OH thinks it sounds amazing.
Glad to hear you are feeling better after your bug and sinusitis.
Hugs.
Hello Stewby  Thanks for dropping by. Did you try the Salmon? I am much better thank you, back making mischief :A

Hmmmm... another gap in posting. Partly it's because I've been really busy and partly it's because I'm feeling a little conflicted.
My goals for this year were all about making the most of life: spending time with the people I love, taking advantage of opportunities that arise, having adventures, and laughing... a lot.
I have made an excellent start :T However, some of the above has involved spending money. That's ok. Mr F and I don't have any debts other than our mortgage and we have paid a substantial amount off that. We have also budgeted to spend more on fun stuff this year. But that is not what this site is for.
I did wonder whether I should have a break from posting at all but perhaps I should continue and post only when I'm saving money rather than spending it. If I disappear for a while, you'll know what I'm up to
So loaves only:- I'm making good progress on my current commission and really enjoying the work. The customer is a talented photographer and the photograph I'm working from is a work of art in itself. There's still a lot to do though and I need to be finished by the end of next week
- popped into the little village to do a few chores. Filled up with diesel - £19 under budget :T
- truck passed its MOT :T
- the grocery shopping arrived - £45.10 over budget  I'm not even sure why
I did run things down very low after Christmas so it might just be an adjustment - I blimming well hope so
- half a white cabbage arrived in the veg box last week so I made Gratin of White Cabbage & Lentils for supper. I used tinned lentils for speed and the results were surprisingly good. I haven't been able to find many recipes for a main meal based around cabbage so this was a good find - cheap too!
Hope everyone's free of the little critters soon

Ditto from me. I think this forum is all about enjoying life but managing to do this while maintaining a debt free (or practically debt free) existence. Getting to a debt free life is one thing maintaining it is another. You do it so well and interestingly. We only have one life so the joyful things need celebating as well. I love your recipes too.0

Fortune it would be sad if you stop posting, but understand you are busy and don't always have time. Your journey is yours alone, but I for one love hearing about it. I love that you make time for lilies in your life and it has encouraged me to try to use my time more constructively and to make time to enjoy things and people more xxxxHoping to stick to the challenge this year!!

I'm with stressed mum - lovely to see you post, about lilies and loaves both, but it has to be right for you. I was considering about this myself recently, and realised it was right for me to carry on. But each to their own xxx2023: the year I get to buy a car0

Don't stop posting! If you stop posting then you might stop reading and I do find that a quick read of a few diaries helps me to stay on track.0

Aaah, thanks guys
I really wasn't angling for some attention - I am genuinely conflicted. The forum has been an enormous help to me in meeting my goals, however, this year I'm planning far more lilies than loaves. I don't feel right posting about my indulgences on a forum that is about saving, particularly as some here are facing such financial difficulties.
However, although I'll be spending this year, next year I expect I'll be back saving again so I'm not going to stop posting. I'll just try to do so sensitively and in the spirit of the site. I'll probably pop in once a week to review my MS efforts.
So...- I have finished my latest commission and it is winging its way to Europe as I type :T Payment is being arranged so I should have some extra pennies soon
- 3 days claimed for tour work. Demand seems to be picking up again now
- finished another section of my project at knitting club this week
- finished a project at writing club too. I'm thinking about what to do next with it - might enter a competition
- £4.84 under budget on groceries this week plus got a £10 voucher to spend from my veg box company :T
- paydays have arrived so money shuffling has been done
- spent this weeks fun money on a takeaway for us and a couple of friends for whom things are a bit tight right now.
