I nominate your diary as the one I will drink vicariously through. Can you make some rhubarb gin please. I tried THIS a little while ago - absolutely gorgeous but not paying that price for it .

That sounds amazing INOOD! I'm definitely going to try that. Those gins sound divine, and I don't even drink gin! **slurp**
Goldie, thats a lot going on for you, with your mum's birthday as well.
Fortune, you're making me hungry with those descriptions! I'm going to have to go offline sharpish
Sorry if your tummy's rumbling Karma. I like to keep track of meals to make sure I'm cooking from scratch whenever I can, making good use of my veg box and avoiding waste. It's one of my MS routines.
PS I make vodka too?

YUM! They sure do sound delish. But it reminds me why I don't make them - it's the longevity thingummy, the 'putting up' stores whatsit, the 'for Christmas' doodad - get's me everytime, as if it's in the house, I 'sample' it until it's gone
Which is usually way before Christmas, Winter, or any other sensible period for which you should hold stores of food and drink
Greying
We could do a deal Greying - you cook for me and I'll make gin for you
They're not really earmarked for Christmas. If I make the gin when the fruit's in season, it's usually ready this time of year. It doesn't last long in the Fortunate household eitherI nominate your diary as the one I will drink vicariously through. Can you make some rhubarb gin please. Have you been looking in my cupboards Gally? Because there is some Spiced Rhubarb Vodka in there waiting to be decanted. Why don't you try making some of your own? It's really easy.

Oops. Nothing much to report - loaves and lilies as usual. One day lost to a small hangover
One day lost to essential maintenance on the electricity network  Mr F has been home this week :j Progress on stuff has occurred :T
- on top of the housework
- Jag is coming along https://www.facebook.com/BeeGardenArt
- boiler was serviced yesterday - invoice should come in at about £150 I think as a couple of parts needed replacing
- a little over budget on the grocery shop this week - not sure why
- wrapped 4 Christmas presents  Seemed a sensible way to spend a day without power. I'm only a couple of items away from finishing the present shopping. My plan is to wrap a couple of presents a day so that it stays enjoyable and doesn't become a chore
- Sausage and Root Veg Bake for supper tonight with mash. I'd definitely recommend this recipe - easy to prepare and delicious. It got the thumbs up from Mr F too. Good job as there's a second helping for supper tomorrow :rotfl:
So there are lots of things on tomorrow's to do list as a result. No 1 - have a lie in :rotfl:
Happy Friday all

the AWOLness was noticed, y'know :rotfl: sorry about the problems, but progress is progress! I wish I could say "I'll just wrap a couple of presents a day" but that routine is like torture for me, I have to blitz it, sadly.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Ha ha! I was thinking of you both today. The freezer centre has various cheeses in stock at the moment (erm, something of a mis-nomer, it sells stuff that you don't have to freeze....) that all have dates long enough to last beyond the Chrimbobs period. I snagged several today, for a cheeseboard sometime over the festivities when we're too full/I cba'd to cook
- anyhoo, I got me a 'truckle' (little round waxed thingummy) of cheddar with caramelised onions for 85p - purely on the basis that if we don't like it on a cracker, we can melt it on us veggies!
