Eek!!!! 5 mice! Thats not good :( I had suspicions about my own loft a couple of years ago, and one night I heard definite squeaking ... got the pest control guy out the next day, and it was a rat _pale__pale__pale_ needless to say, it became an ex-rat in short order!

Get those loaves and lilies lined up :D (I like that, I really do).

  • Ha ha!! You make me laugh with your stories about charred mice!!! Hope you get rid of them soon!! I'll post my cat down to you if you want it! Sick of it screaming for food all the time, it is worse that the 4 dogs put together! She could have a feast on your mice and we could kill two birds with one stone.... or two mice with one cat..... etc etc....:rotfl:

...I even miss his grumpiness - he's promised he's going to bring that back with him though :rotfl:...

Oh Fortune that does make me giggle - I think my OH is cut from the same cloth as your Mr! - A day without the grumps in our house and something does not feel quite right!

It's funny how Mojo can be dependant on the familiar being present in our lives - hope your ooomph comes back in full force soon!

(Thought of you this morning when I noticed we still have 4 large leeks in our fridge that were purchased 2 weeks ago! - going to have a scroll back for some inspiration!)

Pleased to hear your mojo is returning.... Good luck with maintaining the balance x

Thanks Lulabelle - mojo is back at full speed now.
Hi Fortune, shall I lend you one of my cats for a weekend :)

Glad to hear the mojo is returning. Life's definitely uppy and downy for many of us at the moment.

    How are the pics going?

    Best wishes, Tilly x

I think I will need one Tilly - 7 mice and counting so far  The Fortunate cat is far too old, fat and dignified to indulge in mouse catching these days.

7 now Karma and I don't think that's the end of them either  It seems that the change in weather has driven them in all of a sudden. The new electronic trap has caught 2 so far though.

She would get very fat indeed on the number of mice we seem to have suddenly GMOOD. We've had the odd one or two previously but seem to have a plague at the moment.

He's not that grumpy really RT - just grumpier than me :rotfl:I am hardly ever grumpy so that's not difficult.

  • Mr F is home :j He got back about 9 this morning and was exhausted. I sent him for a bath and a couple of hours sleep and he emerged a little more human. He has another night away tomorrow though so I'm hoping the jet lag will wear off quickly.

Lots of washing to do now of course so I put a couple of loads on this morning. No chance of getting it dry outside though, the temperature has suddenly dropped. Enough to trigger the heating for half an hour and that's the first time that's happened this Autumn.

    Other small victories:
Super mouse may have tried the trap again last night as it had been triggered but was empty. There's been a further 2 caught which brings the total to 7 now  We've never had this many before and they seem to have appeared overnight. Peanut butter in the humane trap wasn't touched until the first mouse was caught so I don't think we can have had any before that. Perhaps they have benefitted from the long Summer.

An early night in the Fortunate household tonight as it's a 5 am start

    Sleep tight all

  • Definitely spoilt myself yesterday:
    • the traditional end of term breakfast with the mums at a local caf!
    • met a friend in town for shopping and lunch
    • bought some clothes for the Christmas trip. No savings to be made on these but I did use all the relevant cards to collect points/use up balances
    • collected the Aston from the framers. This is the first of my pictures that I have seen properly framed and it looks lovely. Very pleased
    • ordered a voucher from CP
    • had leftover Red Cabbage with Kabanos for supper
I am soon to be a Great Aunt so am travelling to my home town today for the baby shower. It's Halloween themed so I have braved Mouseland (otherwise known as the attic) to retrieve a suitable costume.

Mr F is home again and catching up on some Zzzs.

Hope your weekend has started well

You went to Mouseland  though I thought you were going to say it was the Disney store :rotfl:

Have a lovely baby shower - I've got three great nephews now, and never a single baby shower - they've got to do better!
2023: the year I get to buy a car
  • That's the only word to describe my diary keeping lately :o Must do better!

    Today's MS:
    • menu planned for the week and did an on-line shop. Not much saving to be made this week as I had a few of the more expensive items to replace
    • made Veg Box Broccoli Soup for lunch today with toasted cheese sandwiches
    • also made 2 Malt Loafs - one for now and one for the freezer :) It appears that Mr F cannot resist my Malt Loaf and I have spent most of the day defending it from him :rotfl: I will say, this is the most delicious recipe and so easy
    • a little PTA work
    • I found a mini pumpkin in my Veg Box this week so we had Bacon & Pumpkin Pasta for supper
Today's short cut to happiness - a Black Cap visited our garden. Very exciting - I've never seen one before.

Hope all is well with you guys
