96 pages in three days! I feel I know you better than some people I am related to. Very entertaining and inspiring read. I especially love the way painting went from something to try to a real part of you. And I do covet your landrover painting! XxBuilding an emergency fund and starting on the mortgage!0

Hello FS! The plum guru
I picked a couple of pounds of plums just before I came back to mse - I went out for half hour walks every day, to get my strength up, and I was watching this one plum tree on the rec ground near me - no one else ever picked the plums, so I picked a couple of batches (left plenty for the birds). So I made blackberry jelly, cooked the plums and some foraged apples in it, chucked some sugar in and voila, 12lbs of lovely HM jam
Loving that liqueur recipe further up this page tho ....2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -

Hello bizzy_lizzie - it's amazing how the page count adds up after a while. Well done for wading through that treacle! And thank you for your kind commentsI'll pop over to see if you have a diary so I can return the favour.

I love getting free food Karma but maybe I should be a bit more careful about what I wish for! I still have plums left and am now coping with marrow overload!

It's been a very busy week so, in a nutshell:
- a fine balance of loaves and lilies
- the Aston commission is progressing
- it's the end of the month and there have been some small gains and small losses as far as the budget is concerned. Pretty good overall
- having pretty much dealt with the plum glut I have now been gifted a ginormous marrow
So the plan for today is to clean 2 remaining rooms, bake something with several sulky bananas and marrow meal plan for this evening's meal :rotfl:
Hope all goes well with you guys.

I am enjoying a little peace and quiet. My weekend visitors have gone home and Mr F is out at a client meeting today. Bliss.
It's the 1st of the month so I have had a look back at the budget:- £27.75 over budget on telephone costs due to an increase in BT's line rental saver
- £40 under budget on fuel costs. I'm using the company car more during the day now Mr F is at home
- nearly £100 over on entertainment due to the weekend but amazingly our wine rack and fridge are still full so I'll be recouping most of that on saved grocery costs
- £35.40 OP to the mortgage
We used the last of the plums over the weekend :T but marrow and courgette will still be featuring on the menu this week :rotfl:
Happy Monday all.
