I'm tinkering with the idea of making some candied angelica Brizzle. I've found a recipe that's simple enough - just don't know if I have the heart to deprive the bees now. Must make my mind up soon as your supposed to candy angelica before it blooms. Traditionally that's the 8th of May - the Feast of St Michael the Archangel. Mine's a bit early!

I'm only productive some days Brizzle - some days I'm a real couch potato. I think I write a lot so it gives the impression I'm always busy :rotfl:

Loved the sound of your weekend

Fingers crossed. Many more people go missing than you'd think. I'd say 80% of the Response Team call outs are for missing people. It's incredibly sad and such a relief when they are found. The South East 4x4 Response Team are all volunteers and bear their own costs. I'll be making a contribution to them on any Land Rover prints I sell.

Thanks greent - I have a series of dogs in mind too so Battersea may benefit from those.

Elderly lady has been on the regional news so they are stepping up the search. Hopefully, someone will spot her soon.

A fairly poor start to the day has turned into glorious sunshine again :j Although I couldn't spend all day in the garden today:
    • all morning in a meeting for my admin work (kerching!)
    • got Mr F's shirts dry on the line
    • did the Waitr0$£ shop - should come in a little under budget
    • called the house alarm company as Mr F's remote is playing up. This is the 2nd time I've had to call about it so they are getting him a new one now
    • spoke to my Framers about getting Rainbow's print done
    • I have a surfeit of herbs in the garden at the moment so I took a bouquet to Across-the-Lane-Neighbour - Rosemary, Sage, Golden Marjoram, Chives, Parsley, Lemon Balm, French Tarragon and Sweet Woodruff. It looked very pretty and smelt gorgeous. Plus it has an added benefit in that you can eat it :rotfl:I often take herb bouquets as gifts when visiting friends. They are always well received and cost me nothing. Wrapping the ends of the stems in damp kitchen roll helps to keep them from willting
    • made sure my new plants got a good watering
    • Lemon, Chard & Tuna Pasta from the meal plan for supper tonight. Made with Swiss Chard from the garden :Ahttp://www.flora.com/flora/tasty-and-healthy-recipes/dinner-recipes/tuna-lemon-and-chard-farfalle.aspx It had a lovely subtle flavour but I'm going to add some capers to the leftovers tomorrow and see how that tastes.
I've been quite jealous of Greying and others and their talk of swallows and martins. However, they seem to have got to us at last. In the early evening they come into the adjoining fields to feed and I love to hear the swallows squeaking like rubber toys as they fly overhead. We have put a swallow nesting bowl under the garage eaves this year but no interest yet. Fingers crossed.

    Here's hoping the sunshine lasts

Had a bit of a dilemma last night as it was Dynamic Yoga night and also the WI AGM. In the end I went for the WI as Across-the-Lane-Neighbour was keen to go and Yoga friend had cried off.

I am so pleased I did!

A few months ago we were asked to nominate local causes for our WI to support. The vote was held at last night's meeting and I'm delighted to say my nomination of the South East 4x4 Response Team won! So £100 is going to them.:j:j:jhttp://www.southeast4x4response.org.uk/
Spookily Mr F was at their AGM last night hearing about plans to kit out a mobile control unit so I'm sure the money will come in handy right now. I will 'phone them later to let them know.

There were 4 other causes put forward and I thought they all deserved some support so suggested that we plan to give each of them £100 as and when we raise the money this year. That was agreed so 5 local organisations will be getting a little cash injection.

    I'm so pleased.

  • Morning Fortune, I imagine Mr F was pleased. Lovely suggestion to help the charities through the year as well.

Making charitable donations from the sale of your paintings is also a great way to support them. I don't think that would have entered my head :o
