... I mean Mr F :rotfl:He went to the Army & Navy Rugby Match at Twickenham yesterday with a friend and he's out today as well marshalling a charity walk with the 4x4 Response Team. It wasn't planned that he'd be out all weekend - the rugby tickets came up unexpectedly. However, I am feeling a bit miffed as we could have had some lovely days out together in the wonderful sunshine.

Not much achieved yesterday as I had a pretty lazy day:
    • ran Mr F and friend to and from the station to save on parking and so they could have a beer - I'm such a nice wife:A
    • Laura A$hl£y bed linen for the small room has arrived although I haven't opened it yet so let's hope it matches
    • put the Peacock Butterfly into the shop as a Limited Edition Print so we'll see how that goes. I decided I would give 10% of any profits to Butterfly Conservation as I really like the idea of giving something back if I make a sale http://folksy.com/items/6076911--Rainbow-Limited-Edition-Print-Peacock-Butterfly-Wildflower-Picture-
    • the remainder of the Sausage & Noodle Stir Fry for supper
    • an NSD
I'm psyching myself up to do some gardening today as the sun is shining again. The rhubarb is running away too so I may make a cake with some.

Hope you have a great Sunday

  • That is such a beautiful print Fortune that I had to buy one to go with 'Moon Child'. I rarely see pictures that really touch me but both of these have.

The weird thing is that I have a very strong connection to the Peacock butterfly, they always seem to sit on my hand, and the moon, so both these pictures will be treasured.

    Thanks x.

Rainbow I can't tell you how delighted I am that the first print will be going to you. I never intend to sell to my friends in the box as, as you know, many have challenging financial goals. I do value everyone's opinion though which is why I post the links. However, it's always a great pleasure to me if one of the MS community buy as I know it will be a very considered purchase and have a special relevance. As it seems this one has for you.

I named the painting 'Rainbow' as I thought the perspective on the butterfly gave it's wing a rainbow shape. I think it also has an 'after the rain' look about it. But how lovely that two rainbows are coming together.

I always give a 20% discount for my MS friends as a thank you for all the support and advice I receive here so I'll arrange to get that back to you.

    Thank you again

Hi Greying. Mr F has committed to a day of gardening today so he'll only be straying as far as the garden centre :rotfl:

The rhubarb escaped to live another day as I was invited to an impromptu social event. But it's days are numbered...

Hello GMOOD. Lovely to hear from you. The butterfly has generated a lot of interest and I'm delighted at the response it's had. I'm only selling to raise funds for my hobby so any sales are going to fund the next art classes.

Thanks Fortune, and you are right it was a considered purchase. I have been looking for a picture for our bedroom, for a long time, and the colours will match perfectly. I will take the money out of my treat pot.

For me butterflies are about freedom and transformation, and rainbows are connected to my version of spirituality, so it seemed to be the perfect picture to accompany me on my MSE journey.

I love the idea of you supporting Butterfly Conservation, and I would be really happy if they got my 20% discount, it feels like the right thing to do too, could you organise that. You are very kind x.

Sounds perfect for you Rainbow. It's really generous of you to donate your discount. I was a bit too efficient this morning though I'm afraid and have refunded you already. But here is the link to Butterfly Conservation if you need it http://butterfly-conservation.org/.

I'm hoping we get to see lots of butterflies today - the weather is glorious here.

    Have a great Sunday

Mr F and I have spent all day in the garden. It was lovely to be out in the sunshine but we are both pooped now. Lots achieved though:
    • I was rescued from my lonely Bank Holiday weekend by Across-the-Lane-Neighbour. She had an impromptu barbeque for some mutual friends. I rustled up some mini pizzas to take over along with a bottle of white from the rack and a half bottle of gin to contribute to the cocktails. It was a lovely afternoon and we all stayed very sober :o
    • Mr F ate out as the 4x4 response team went out to search for a missing elderly lady. She's 82 and very confused. They haven't found her yet :(
    • this morning I woke up to find that Rainbow had bought my butterfly print - a lovely surprise!:D
    • a friend has agreed that I can use a photo of their Series Land Rover for my next project:)
    • we had our lunch at the garden centre. Fish & Chips - £18.65 which will come out of this week's fun money
    • garden has been mowed and weeded and all pots and raised beds top dressed. I transplanted the strawberries into a bigger container and put in courgettes, cherry tomatos and perpetual spinach. Also some bedding plants to brighten up the hanging baskets and containers. Sadly, the lavender we planted when we first moved in had got far too big and woody so we've replaced that now with a new smaller one. Mr F needed lawn feed and path clear. All in all - £58.35  Not in the plan but we'll meet that from the rest of this week's fun money and the float I carry in the current a/c
    • Falafal wraps for supper tonight as we ate our main meal at lunchtime. I used some salad leaves from the garden - seeds sown last year but only germinated this year.
The garden was full of life today and it was pleasant to be pottering around in the fragrant herbs. I was delighted to see quite a few honey bees - they seem to like the wisteria and the angelica. The angelica has strange green flowers - a bit like aliums but without any petals. Each tiny stalk exudes a drop of nectar which sparkles in the sunlight and is irresistible to honey bees.

I hope you've all had sunshine today too
