Gotta have an internal light...Mrs T says so :rotfl:

    Lovely piccies FS..
    Nope, that's definitely GallyGirl :)

Although Fortune, you could try Thistle's suggestion of using a candle :T

OK, for anyone needing a health and safety card 'please don't try this at home'

    Tilly x

I couldn't buy a tumble dryer without an internal light - how embarrassing!

Actually Tilly, I levelled a couple of scented candles today so that they would burn properly and realised I could do with some more. Having had a look online I was shocked to see the price of them  It made me wonder whether I could make them myself?

Anyone out there make their own scented candles?

I need saving from myself most of the time Greying :rotfl:With any purchases I try to go for value for money which of course doesn't necessarily mean cheap!

I agree, but since we are just about to embark on having a new replacement boiler fitted - at a, to me, eye-watering amount of money - I am of course (not) delighted to learn that I should be glad that it will (probably) only last 12 years before we have to shell out all over again for a new one :D 20 year intervals would give much better odds that it would not be my future problem, or at least it would be the care home's problem, not mine :rotfl: And whilst I appreciate there may be a leap from 65% efficiency to 95% efficiency this time around, that chasm won't - or shouldn't - exist next time around.

I wish manufacturers still rated quality, rather than quantity :(

Oh, and DP would like to know what 'series' the LR is :D

How have we ever got this far without them Beanie? I'm still torn between the tumble dryer and the bed linen. If Laura A$hl£y have a sale next month it will be a close run thing!

  • I know Gally - it will rob me of the pleasure of purchasing tumble dryers on a more regular basis :rotfl:

Classic, that made me laugh out loud. DH does all the appliance purchasing in our house and always goes for the best quality at the cheapest prices. We bought all our appliances, at the same time, 15 years ago, when we moved in to this house and they are just starting to go now :o, but they were fantastic while they lasted.

I can't get very get excited about tumble dryers but Laura Ashley bed linen, now I am drooling :rotfl:

Well done on a great, overall money saving April :T.

My neighbour has Miele appliances and swears by them. They are still going strong after 10 years of daily family use. Miele continue to make parts for each model for 20 years as that's how long they expect them to last.

I'm drooling over the honeysuckle fabric at the moment. But it will give me a dilemma - do I go with lime green or pale pink accents?

Mr F's visit to the dentist last night resulted in a £180 bill  I had budgeted £100 so I've had to claw back the extra £80 from the additional savings payments I'd made :( And I was so close to reaching 5k this month. Mr F only has 1 visit a year so it's not cost effective to put him on a budget plan. Maybe I should budget more for his visits though - he's not getting any younger :rotfl:

    In other news:
    • went for some routine blood tests this morning. They had to take rather a lot and the nurse advised me to have a sugary snack before doing any exercise so I had to buy a Peanut Butter Kitkat :o
    • former colleague visited and we walked to the posh pub in the village on the hill. It's a 6 mile round trip so that must have cancelled out the Kitkat surely? 2 courses, a glass of Prosecco and a coffee - £29.50 from my personal spends
    • Sausage & Noodle Stir Fry from the meal plan for supper tonight http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/4851/sausage-and-noodle-stirfry I prepared enough for 2 meals so that I can rustle up another quickly tomorrow
    • reconciled the accounts. All balance and we've already got enough JL points for £20's in vouchers :T
I can highly recommend the goose down pillows - what a fabulous night's sleep we had. They are expensive but well worth it.

It's turned a bit chilly so we have lit the log burner and I am finishing up the bottle of wine I opened for cooking last night. Don't want it to go off now do we :rotfl:

    Have a great weekend all
