edinburgher wrote: »Re. making your own cards, it sounds like a good idea, but you need to have a good range of channels for selling them. Mrs E has a friend who sells cards, paper goods, pretty covered notebooks etc. and I think it's below pin money. That said, she pretty much just flogs them to pals through Facebook. If you decide to use eB@y, Am@zon, Et.sy etc. remember to allow for fees
Thanks for the advice Edinburgher. I'm going to have to build that up I think. I do have a shop on Folksy called Bee Garden Art and that is great for managing payments, etc. Mr F has lots of contacts in the 4x4/Land Rover world so I'm going to look into how we can utilise those for the car paintings.
Having said that, I'm not really looking to build a business - just earn a little pin money so I can fund my hobby.

Beckyy, Gally, Laura and Watty 1. Thank you for your support. It feels a little wrong giving up the opportunity to earn money but it really isn't worth the hassle I'm getting at the moment. I took it on when I first retired and we were getting used to a lower income but I think it's served it's purpose now. It's definitely costing me more than it's earning me!

Nice to see you Beanie. No, not long and I don't have too much to get done before then. I can't wait to do some cards - I just can't paint fast enough!

Fortune - I was very much minded of This Creative Gal when I mentioned greetings cards from art/craftwork. In the comments section, someone has asked her who the card co were that printed up her designs - she was amenable to sharing
But you also have the recommendation from the framers too, so that's a brilliant start (may even turn out to be the same co :rotfl:)
I don't however, think that you are going to be short of ideas of which 'series' to put togetherTime yes, ideas..... nope
And yes, I do love the dormouse, and the hare, and the gnome, and....... and........ Amazing what you can make with felt

An early start yesterday as Mr F is working away for the next couple of days. We didn't have a particularly early night beforehand so I was yawning all day.
- more work completed on the Land Rover. It's coming on really well and I can't wait to show you the finished painting. I'm trying to do a little a day so I can finish by the weekend when the MG photos are due to arrive. I can't work for too long at a time as my eyes get tired and if I lose focus I make mistakes
- Across-the-Lane-Neighbour's little girl had a birthday so I helped ferry children from the school to the house and supervised party activities. I was rewarded with plenty of party food. In fact, I was seduced by chocolate cake and wine and didn't make it to Dynamic Yoga
Happy hump day

Well the sun doesn't shine very often so you have to make your hay when it does :rotfl:
I've had a lovely girlie day out with some friends browsing garden centres and antique shops. Just window shopping though, I didn't buy anything :A Spent a little money on coffee and lunch. Pretty MS though as we bought the makings and went back to a friend's house to eat in their garden. So nice to be out in the sunshine.
Came home to a wonderful surprise. I did a small favour for someone a little while ago and they sent me a gift to say thank you. It's a pretty notebook filled with handwritten recipes. What a fabulous gift. I'm so touched and I can't wait to try some out - particularly the Rhubarb & Ginger VodkaIt's one of the nicest presents I've ever received.
Mr F is home now, we've had supper (Rigatoni Sausage Bake) and are relaxing in front of the telly. What a lovely day.
Hope you've all had sunshine too
