Thanks for all the comments guys. Apologies for the delay in acknowledging - I have a nasty bout of bronchitis. I have now given in to it and this is my 3rd day in bed. It feels like such a waste of time but I know I will only get worse or be ill for longer if I don't give myself a break.
Despite being ill I do feel very lucky. I have the luxury of taking to my bed and not having to struggle on through work or child care. The heating is now on auto and the house is beautifully warm and cosy. Mr F was away on Tuesday and will be again tonight but across-the-lane-neighbour is on hand if I need anything.
On the MS front:- being ill has curtailed any spending and I've cancelled our social plans for the weekend too
- the job Mr F was being headhunted for has been given to an internal candidate. However, the company like his CV and would like to consider him for another senior job that is coming up. So we'll wait and see. Mr F is already in a well paid job that he enjoys and wasn't looking for another job so he isn't disappointed
- we've heard from the FOS. Nati0nwid£ have not responded to their recommendation! Initially I was appalled by this but the FOS think it's likely to be an oversight. They have chased Nati0nwid£ and given them a further 21 days to respond. It just feels as though they are continuing to treat us shabbily and we are disadvantaged further because of the delay
- we are considering cashing in Mr F's With Profits Plan early. The company have written to us to say they will not be paying annual bonuses from now on and the final bonus is not guaranteed. It may be more cost effective to pay the money off the mortgage. We are crunching the numbers at the moment to see what's best to do.

Hi, how you feeling?
Isn't it lovely when you have nice neighbours to help out on stuff. When my OH was away they were all fab at looking out for me, helping with dogs etc. Makes me never want to move!Mortgage starting balance 2011 ... £170k today £1.5k

...just! I managed to get to art class today - didn't want to miss any more as I've already missed 2 through illness and they work out at about £10 a go  People had asked for more time to work on their animals from last week so my Highland Cow sketch didn't go to waste after all. He's not quite finished so I'll let you see him when he's done.
Nothing much to report on the MS side. Being ill is great for not spending. Did do the weekly shop today which should come in about £12 under budget.
Mr F is away tonight so I had leftover Meatballs with Spicy Chipotle Tomato Sauce with rice http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/1841647/meatballs-with-spicy-chipotle-tomato-sauce. And nice and spicy it was too.
Thank you for the well wishes - it was lovely to get them and they really cheered me up.
Take care
