    • booked to spend New Year's Eve at a swanky hotel with some friends :o I'm too embarrassed to say how much it's going to cost but Mr F and I have agreed it will be our Christmas present to each other.

Thats a great idea :j Experiences rather than things, love it :)

Sorry to bother you, false alarm, can't do Xmas painting commission this year. Long story, needed sister to do X before I could do Y, but she can't do X, blah blah.

Hope you're well (and Mr FS!)

It'll be a fabulous evening but I'm still smarting at the cost. Some damage limitation required I think Karmacat.

  • Lots and lots of admin work completed yesterday :T which should help to limit some of the New Year's damage. Plenty more work to be done too. Other MS:
    • soup made from the leftover Sausage Casserole for lunch
    • Baked Potato with Beans and Cheese for supper as Mr F is away
    • more Christmas shopping completed online. I've reduced the budget a little this year. It helps that the DSs are living with their girlfriends. We're buying them a couple of big joint presents for their new homes and then lots of small individual stocking filler presents
    • have done the shopping list for the weekly on-line shop. Should be quite low as Mr F is unexpectedly away for work so some of the meals planned can be used for next week
    • WI meeting tonight. I'll have to pay my annual membership as well as my subs. Worth it just for the cake though!
Off to do the shopping now. Hope you have a good day.

  • Had a lovely evening at the WI last night. We had a local fruit grower come and talk to us about apples. Lots of lovely samples so I definitely got my 5 a day!

    MS:
    • did the weekly shop - £20.64 under budget. I've added this to an underspend on the week's entertainment budget and put £50 towards the New Year extravaganza
    • £34.70 on WI annual membership, £2.00 on refreshments and £1.00 on a raffle ticket - I didn't win :(
    • a cup of coffee and a slice of wonderful, home-made Victoria sponge at the meeting. I've put myself down to help with the refreshments in May next year. I'm hoping that will give me time to learn how to bake to the required standard
    • doctor's appointment this morning - my thyroxine medication has been upped a bit so that should give me a bit more get up and go
    • art class this afternoon - we're doing fire as it's bonfire season
    • Lentil Ragu and Pasta from the freezer for supper tonight. Mr F is coming home :j but I'm not sure what time he'll get here
    Happy hump day everyone!
