The party is tonight and I've lost 3lbs :T Although that may not be enough to have a perfectly fitting dress, it will be enough to keep the zip up. Too late to do anything more about that now.
MS:- I called the Financia1 0mbud$man to get an update on our PPI claim. They said they still hadn't heard from Nati0nwid£. However, after a bit of 'phoning around it turns out that Nati0nwid£ did reply to them on 2 October! They are appealing the decision. They say that, as the PPI was compulsory with a 100% mortgage, Mr F's job at the time was irrelevant  I don't get this - just because a company make an insurance purchase compulsory, does that mean they don't have a duty of care to the customer to ensure they are buying a product appropriate to their needs? Or that actually provides the cover it purports to? Anyhow, the fight goes on
- did the monthly money shuffle :T Mr F's profit related pay was paid so that has oiled the wheels for Christmas
- a 70p Tillytidy together with our regular £55 overpayment. I'm thinking of increasing the regular overpayment to £100 a month in the New Year using the extra we'll get from Mr F's profit related pay
- a home manicure in preparation for the party tonight
- a little community group work and a little admin work
- marzipanned my Christmas Cake :j It has turned out brilliantly and I was surprised how easy it was. Mr F and I had a sneaky taste of the cake too as I had to level the top - nom, nom
Happy Friday everyone. Enjoy the weekend

Hope it was lovely, FS!
With the PPI, if it was compulsory *and* inappropriate, sounds like Nation ... haven't got a leg to stand on - keep going, surely you'll get that money back. Grrrr, on your behalf.2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
Yes, I have to admit to feeling a little second-hand today and there have been MS implications:
- party was fabulous! The dress fitted :j Only just but it fitted and I felt quite good in it.
- Mr F's company paid for the meal (four delicious courses) and there was red, white and sparkling wine on the table too
- we'd taken some cash with us as Mr F had expected to buy drinks for his team. However, after the dinner the Accounts Lady slipped £100 in his pocket to cover the cost of any additional drinks :T The company have been soooo generous
- there was dancing which I thoroughly enjoyed as I don't get the chance very often. Even Mr F had a dance (very unlike him) and I have a bruised foot to prove it :rotfl:Sadly, my damaged muscles didn't benefit from the exercise though
- we stayed at the Hotel which was £109 for the night and I snaffled all the bathroom products, biscuits, hot chocolate etc when we left
- we didn't get to bed until 3.00 am and I woke at 7.30 am  That did leave us plenty of time for a big breakfast though
which was included in the rate
- today I have been mostly lying on the sofa dozing in front of the log burner. Two weeks to recover before we have to do it all again for the company's second site
- Mr F had to make lunch today (cheese on toast) as I was incapacitated. We also resorted to a takeaway curry for supper - £21.70
- a very indulgent weekend of lilies but all budgeted for
- sheets and ribbons arrived from M&$ today so I'll be able to make up the stocking filler bags for Fleabay tomorrow. Also got 4 trial size products in the post from M0lt£n Br0wn
- £1.27 in Tillytidies
Back to the diet and healthy living tomorrow.
Hope you're having a great weekend all

It was brilliant Karmacat, thank you. The most annoying thing about Nati0nwid£ is that they said that Mr F's job was irrelevant to the sale! Mr F was doing a job where he put his life at risk - how can that be irrelevant to a policy that should pay out on death, injury or accident? So glad that you had a fabarooni time :j
Thanks Beanie - although I'm paying the price now!

Fabarooni sounds an excellent description of your party to me :j:j:j and ooh, cheese on toast the next day, for lunch. Lovely
I recently discovered that one helping of wheat a week is fine for me - I have an intolerance, not an allergy, so cheese on toast is a real treat for me
I won't yell too loudly tho

I've had a much more productive and festive day today:
- iced the WI cake :T Admittedly I used ready roll fondant icing but I am a beginner after all. The results aren't perfect but nothing to be ashamed of so I'm pretty proud of myself. Now I have a bit more confidence I think I'll try making my own Fondant or Royal Icing next time. Now it's just the fun part of decorating which I'll do at the WI meeting on Tuesday
- made the Christmas Pudding Vodka - it's now gently infusing in the fridge and should be ready for decanting next weekend. I have some lovely old fashioned bottles I can use and am thinking of painting some tags with a picture of a Christmas Pudding. I might start painting tags for my Folksy Shop - sloes, oranges, etc as I think they would make a lovely finishing touch for home made produce
- made 7 Stocking Filler bags with all the branded trial size beauty products I've collected this year and listed them on Fleabay
- across-the-lane-neighbour delivered a box of beers for Mr F - an extra thank you for some work he did on her car recently
- Frankie Pasta Bake http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/2345/frankie-pasta-bake from the meal plan for supper tonight. Cheap and cheerful and super quick. There'll be enough left over for supper tomorrow too
- must do some ironing this evening or Mr F will be going to work shirtless tomorrow
- it's been an NSD today :T Have to balance out this indulgent socialising somehow :rotfl:
