Gosh, you are up early!!
I got up to eat a bit of bread and cuddle dh, but now I'm back in bed and I hope to sleep a few hours!!
My back pain is a consequence of not having any support in the area, according to the physio. My abs were weak and were not worked up enough pre-pregnancy, so now with the extra weight and the relaxed muscles I pulled something. It might be different for other people, but you seem to be an active person and you like dancing (if I remember right), so you probably have a better support around your lower back and abs. When doing exercises with the physio, she realized that I use my top abs and the middle back but I did not use the lower ones, I am finding it hard to remember to use those when standing up or rolling in bed.
I want to go and watch The Hobbit but it is 5 days after my EDD. I went to all LoTR films on release day, I don't think I can do that this time!!

CONTRACTION MASTER TIMER
Please post your birth stories here when you have time/energy.:smileyheaBaby Aida is here :j:j:jBaby fund - £3140/£60000 -
Morning,
Bamama and Rups hope your appointment goes well today.
Marta I hope your pain go away soon.
Last working day here. Really happy as I need to rest.:smileyheaBaby Aida is here :j:j:jBaby fund - £3140/£60000 -
Congrats on your last day Aida. Hope you get a nice little send off.
I'm no dancer Marta. In fact I'd consider myself lazy. I do have quite good muscle tone though. I don't know what I'm expecting... some pains or something considering I'm 37 weeks tomorrow?
Oh and thanks Aida. Will be sure to come and tell you all about it lol.0 -
No chilled ML here. I was hoping for a good night tonight but I'm afraid I may have eaten too many sweets at comedy club. Squirmy is squirming away!
Midwife tomorrow. Hope she gives me some good news... like this baby is moving down! Not sure what I'm supposed to be feeling but nothing is much different. I have a bit of a soft patch under my ribs. Baby's bum is still up by my rib on the right though. I don't have a very long body so maybe it won't feel like it's gone down?
A lot of you mention pain in your cervix and pelvis. I don't think I'm getting any of that. I've had occasional tightenings of the area between my hips, across the front of my "belly". No back pains either.
I have a softer bit right at the top of my bump under my boobs now that baby has moved down a lttle (you can sortof tell what's uterus and what's other organs!). Never got the 'lightening' feeling though and I'm lucky that baby (however it's lying) seems not to squash my bladder either. I did feel like I had sore 'sitbones' when baby first started engaging (in hindsight!) And if I walk far now I can feel pressure between my legs too.
I am getting tight bump (braxton hicks I presume) but it doesn't feel like anything and I can only tell by touching the bump that they're happening. No other pain except very occasional twinges which i think are baby putting hands above head and poking cervix. (About once a week maybe??)0 -
Morning everyone! Well it's Friday and I only have 2 weeks left to go in work! Hurrah!
Morning Savage - how are you feeling today? Am thinking you are having a December baby now.
Bamama - if memory serves, I think the pressure in my pelvis increased a bit (I might have felt it more if I hadn't had severe PGP) when DS moved down but his bum was still up under my ribs. I am very short in the torso and he was big so there wasn't really anywhere else for him to go. To be honest I felt no different at 37 weeks than I did at 30 or 33. I had no braxton hicks, no pains, no indication at all that that baby was going to come out. Until the day before he was born when the labour pains started. It felt like period pains for me and never really progressed into my back. Baby will be here soon - just relax. As Marta said to Rups further up - you won't get this time back. Enjoy it while you can. I can't wait to get on leave and have some time to myself while DH is at work and DS is still in nursery. Fingers crossed baby doesn't come too early! Lol!
Aida - enjoy your last day at work!
Morocha - you sound like a tough little cookie with more courage than a lot of people I know! Stick to your guns. You need to do what's right for you and your children regardless of what other people think.0 -
Thanks ladies. Just feels like I'm gonna be taken by suprise you know? I'm not one for surprises.
Got an extra hour and a half kip when I came back up. That makes nearly 6 which I guess is an improvement.0 -
can;t believe in the next 4 wks we will have lots of babies.
aida, happy last day !!
Neph, you are getting there... 2 weeks left
savage, i never knew what /BH were with dd, never had or felt them
bamama, at 37 apart from feeling big i did not feel a single thing.
Marta, did she give you exercises to do ?
rups, enjoy ur few wks of rest, this precious time wont be back till they go to nursery and then is only 2 1/2 hs !
queen, savage, minted... what are you doing today ?
I woke up at 7.30 to get DD ready and this morning wasnt such a struggle. She is so much happy with her new school, goes to bed early ( she is ADHD so has tons of energy and for her to go to bed early is a massive thing) the teachers are very happy with her, quite different from the other school that found her difficult. Today is the end of her second week and I am quite happy with the results so far, she even hasn't had one single wee accident since she started.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
me - cleaning. Sort of. It seems to take forever. Also got a whole lot of 'paperwork' type things to get done - online shopping, that sort of thing.
We've been redecorating a room which has ended up being alot more work than we thought so there is a layer of brick dust practically everywhere in the house. So currently cleaning our room so the baby will have some clean air and surfaces!!0 -
That's great morocha!!

Yes, she gave me a few exercises. One of them is "the cat" posture to stretch the back muscles that are painful for me. You go on your fours and basically you move your bum down and a bit forward (stretching your back up in the process) and then go up and straight again. She insisted a lot on kegels/pelvic floor exercises, but I keep forgetting. She wants me to use the lower abs and not the middle/top ones. When I get up, I usually use the middle/top and you can see my belly get very tense and "pointy", she wants to see my belly relaxed and round as when I am sat down and instead use the muscles that are closer to the pelvic floor. She told me to do a pelvic floor and try to get up to recognize which muscle she was talking about, it is just around where a belt would be now, almost under the bump. Another one was laying down and on my side, get a long scarf and hold one extreme with each hand, then put my foot in the middle and bring my leg to a 90 degree, then push my leg down to go back to a straight position whilst tensing the muscles in the bum and adding some resistance by keeping the scarf tense a bit. Another one was just a light stretch where I would sat like most men do, with my right ankle on top of my right thigh, but with the back straight, then swap. I think I have a couple more on a leaflet. Also getting up always with my knees together and try to turn in bed by moving first onto my hands and knees (so going from your side to an almost belly down position to the other side), instead of rolling on my back (side - flat back - side), but I cannot really do that without waking myself up completely. She said she would do the acupuncture as well if the exercises do not give me any relief. All this in the NHS one, by the way. She also said that now I have been referred to her, if after the birth or later in the year I see that I have pains or I want to see her, I do not need to go to my GP again, I just give the department a call and ask for an appointment, which is good to know!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*
