  • Evening ladies,

Congratulations to all the new mummies!!

I haven't posted in ages, I've been on one of the Facebook groups but have popped back to keep up to date with what's going on with all of you, I don't know how the heck I got to #32 though!!

We found out on 14/11 that we are team blue which is lovely as we have our 8 year old DD. It's not putting DH off nipping my head about a third but we'll see, I might get him a boxer dog instead!!

Really not much going on with me, I've had to cancel scans and appointments last week and this as I've had a bit@h of a virus that I just couldn't shake, am on the mend now though so have rescheduled my last scan for next week, I'll be 32 weeks tomorrow so will be lovely to see baby getting nice and fat. We had a 4D scan to find out the sex which was amazing, the detail and technology is just astounding.

Trying to get organised for Christmas/ baby and get our house finished all at the same time, suddenly things which haven't bothered me about the house are doing my head in with the thought of bringing baby home (like he'll notice!!) so I'm on a mission. I'n supposed to work until the end of december but I'm going to try and get finished by mid Dec if I can then my Mat leave starts officially on the 6th Jan. Seems a fair while yet but there's still loads to do so don't you all have your babies too quickly and move me up that list!!

    Labour vibes to boldies though!!!

    Xx

Bamama, raspberry leaf tea. Not sure, some sites say it is used during/around labour to bring contractions, other sites say you have to have it weeks before to soften the cervix. The box says not to have without talking to the GP if pregnant, so something might do. The only natural thing I could find in medical journals that was proven to work in non-high risk pregnancies was nipple stimulation. Herbal remedies appeared as a "they might work but there's not enough research" and included the raspberry leaf tea, castor oil and cohosh or something like that. The scholar section in Google can bring you some articles on that; although many are not available to read without subscription, many offer an abstract with the results of the studies.

Heartburn again, I thought I was going to avoid that symptom, I never had any until very recently!!

Congrats on team blue! Take it easy with the work you are doing around the house. Don't over do it. Are you having most of Christmas off? Be nice if you are as it will make your maternity leave seem longer!

Thanks for the advice Marta. I will see what the MW tells me Friday. My mother is coming with me as she knows I don't like having bloods done. Might not need help to get this baby moving. The more I stress out the more likely it is to want to evacuate itself. Think this is why the stomach cramps started.

I've had my worst nights sleep yet. Came to bed at 12 (I know, it should have been earlier considering I was up at 4am yesterday). I think I finally made it to sleep some time just after 3am! Starting dreaming about some weird shopping centre panic buying... not even baby stuff might I add. When I returned to my car I had a ticket. Not for parking but for my tax disc being expired even though it was good until the end of the month! I was then faces with my family who kept asking what was wrong and insisting on coming home with me to make sure I was ok. I proceeded to drive like a maniac, nearly taking out a car and it's owner who saw me bump it and was flagging me down. Woke in a terrible panic and sweat soaked :( that was around 5!!!

Nodded on and off for a while until OH's alarm went for work at half 6. I wrote him a short letter last night to try and get things off my chest in the hopes of a good nights sleep. Obviously it didn't help the sleep but he did come up and give me a hug. Told me to stop worrying and that everything is ok. Hoping that's put my mind at ease a bit so I can get some sleep now... after a pee break lol xxx
  • morning all :) hello newbies  and all the regulars:wave:

No movement here - except shooting up that list number 5 - seriously

Have been rather busy this week, although all nice things, including my mum coming over for the day yesterday which was lovely. Today and tomorrow I plan on finishing DD new bedroom in terms of storage so that as and when we want to move her in there, we will just need to take down the double bed an put up her new one. I will also be moving lots of toys out of the lounge which will hopefully make that seem de-cluttered.

DH taking day off work so i plan to spend lots of quality time with him today, but, will be back on later for a catch up when DD has gone to bed.

Have a good day everyone :)

    Morning!!!

Bamama - hugs for you! Go back to bed and see if you can get any more kip. The dreams can be really bad at this stage. Raspberry leaf tea apparently can help strengthen the uterus which helps with the pushing stage. I took it last time and was pushing for about 50 minutes which considering the size of DS was pretty good. I'll be taking it again this time. Every woman reacts to it differently. i think I started it around 36/37 weeks the last time figuring if it put me in labour then at least baby was at term or thereabouts. I would avoid castor oil and black cohosh personally. I know it doesn't feel like it now but baby will come out eventually. You are in the final countdown now and it won't be long - I promise.

I'm just on the last couple of weeks at work - hurrah! Then i will have to face the fact that this baby will be coming out one way or another - think i'm in denial! I'm certainly smaller this time round although still plenty of time for bump to get much bigger! Going shopping after work to get the last of the Christmas presents then I need to get the ones for the post wrapped and sent. House needs a good clean and decorations have to go up. I love Christmas! :D
  • If you find a way please let me know Bamama! 38+6 now and any day now would be just fine.

Ooo, I agree with that - maybe my waters could go in the office today - give them all a nice shock :D

  • Morning everyone, I am so tired today. Had one of the worst night sleep EVER! Could not get comfy at all as my pelvis was really sore and baby decided to have an all night party, seriously! This baby of mine did not stop all night.

Got 4D scan tonight, woo! I seriously hope baby does not decide that it's tired later and is asleep. Got the diet coke at the ready to drink before we go.

Morocha - I dream all the time, used to have a lot of nightmares but these have calmed down recently.

I am going to attempt to haul my butt into town today, been very lazy this week, need to attempt to do some Christmas shopping.
    I :heart2: saving money

Er Queen_B - isn't it supposed to be a sugary (and cold) drink to get baby moving, so diet coke won't work?

Been tossing and turning. Still can't sleep properly. Baby is awake now so gonna go down and watch some tv with a hot chocolate. Getting some new feelings... baby moving and getting a tightening between my hip bones. This must be baby's head moving down? Belly doesn't feel any less full. Maybe more feet up top.
