Morning GISI, hope it goes well at the consultant. What's polyhydramniosis? Is it too much amniotic fluid? That must be uncomfortable
hope the risks for you and baby aren't too high and they can compromise on the birth plan.

I must be lucky but period pains were for me the start of labour, they progressed to stronger pains and the very next day i had DD with me.
When my baby was engaging i felt pelvis pain, like something was going on there and my hips couldnt cope. I have these type of pains when i walk. my baby seems quite low cos i can feel her right from my crotch till under my chest, or maybe she is just long, i do not know but have this stupid urged to get my house ready and it is driving me nuts cos there is actually nothing i can do, they house is clean, only lived here for a week but there are DH's boxes in each room, they are driving me nuts and im starting to feel down about it all, a feel that i can not cope with this.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
Such a rainy day should involve a LOT of cake LM!
Hope appts go well for those who have them today.
Does anyone have any experience of being in a partnership and claiming MA? (Business partnership that is, not relationship one!)
Officially at the moment I'm employed and will get SMP. Traditionally though, you get to become a partner in the family business when a baby arrives and I can't find out much about it from the family business point of view. I get that I could claim it and it would effectively be the same as SMP. Trying to work out whether it's better to become a partner this Jan or next Jan basically!0 -
I had a big message and my phone died
I have 10 working days left. Don't think I'll make it! Pains stopped by 12 last night. I felt very lightheaded when I lay down last night and am still feeling it.
zcrat, I always thought you got more for smp than ma?0 -
zcrat, http://www.dwp.gov.uk/publications/specialist-guides/technical-guidance/ni17a-a-guide-to-maternity/maternity-allowance-ma/
It sounds like you'd qualify for smp and not ma... due to how you were employed during the "qualifying period" which doesn't mean you can't become a partner when your ML starts though (I don't believe it would affect the smp as you have already qualified).0 -
I think you would continue to get SMP either way Zcrat, as Bamama says.
Appointment was much better than hoped. No concerns over polyhydramnios (which is excess waters) as baby has started to engage. Biggest risk is that cord may prolapse when waters break but the head is now in the way of this. Consultant has put in my notes that I do not have to have continuous monitoring for my VBAC, and can be in the pool as long as the MW on the day is happy. Booked back in in three weeks if baby isn't here by then and he will examine me and decide whether cervix is favourable or not. If it is he will break my waters, if not he will book me for an ELCS. I'm also allowed a sweep at term
. Very pleased.

Morning everyone!
I think I may have bad my first Braxton hick Last night, woke up during the night with what I could only describe as a fairly strong period pain, didn't last very long then it was like nothing had happened.
Had been feelin a bit worried as baby had been fairly quiet since I went to a gig on Sunday night so was worried I may have frightened baby. Anyways I neednt had worried as it was party time as I was going to bed lastnight, was getting kicks in my cervix and back end for quite a while. Feeling a bit sore this morning but reassured.
Nursery furniture turned up yesterday woo! Just all in boxes in the spare room as we can't decorate yet, boo!
Found out that DH job is now permanent which is ace news, certainty that one of us will be employed next year. So we went to see Skyfall and have some tea out to celebrate and we saw John Bishop havin a drink in the pub. He's in our area filming for a comedy programme.
Hope everyone else is well, wishing you labour vibes LittleMoog and great news fom your appointment GISI.I :heart2: saving money0 -
My Braxton Hicks haven't been painful at all, in fact I can't feel them. Only way I can tell is that bump goes all hard (which I can only tell by feeling with my hands!!).0

Well yesterdays quick booking in appointment ended up with a 5 hour stay in the maternity assessment unit with tears and horrible doctors!
My blood pressure was 145/113 at 13:15 so was taken around to the assessment unit by the midwife and pretty much ignored until 16:00 when a reg informed me I would be admitted & induction would be the most likely outcome, came as quite a shock & said I wasn't happy with being admitted or the idea of being induced to then be surrounded by 3 dr's telling me the worst case possible & ending the conversation with 'you'll have to sign paperwork if you up and leave as your baby's death will not be our responsibility' obviously that set me off but thankfully a senior midwife heard it all & came to my aid! she attached me to the monitors to check bubs heartrate & movements and checked my bp again which amazingly had dropped to 136/85 at this point, leaving me on the monitor for 45 mins, checking my bp every 15 minutes and getting me an enormous mug of hot chocolate, after the 4th bp check it was down to 116/60 and she chased the doctors back up who rechecked as they didn't believe it could have dropped so much without the medication they wanted to me take earlier but finally they agreed to let me home however I have to go back today, tomorrow & Friday & if my bp is raised again I will have to be admitted! all through this my oh was totally uncontactable so really not impressed with him today so am staying in bed and ignoring him as really don't want to do anything that'll raise my bp & throwing his Xbox out the window & the subsequent row would probably do it lol x
Sorry for the long post ladies, hope everyone else is well x0
