moneypenny and ml, here's the pattern, it's very straighforward:

    Pram blanket - 3 x 50g balls DK wool.
    Materials: 4mm & 3.25mm knitting needles
tension: 23 st and 30 rows to 10cm on 4mm needles.

Using 3.25mm needles and thumb method, cast on 106 sts
1st row Knit. This row will now be referred to as g-st (garter stitch)
Work 11 rows more in g-st.

Change to 4mm needles and proceed as follows:
    1st row: K23, *p15,k15* rep from * to * once, p15, k8
Rep 1st row 15 times more
    17th row: K8, *p15,k15* rep from * to * twice, k8
Rep 17th row 15 times more (32 rows in total)

1st-32nd row sets pattern. Rep from 1st to 32nd row 4 times more.

Change to 3.25mm needles and work 11 rows in g-st, cast off knitways.

It knits up in a sort of woven squares pattern, I used Sirdar snuggly DK wool, and it was lovely and soft.
Here's a piccy of my nephew with it:

back from the MW, pesky baby has only turned half the way round, so will need to continue with exercises to try and turn it, and not slouch on the sofa so much! :rotfl: Also not at all engaged, naughty baba! Don't think the baby has got the message that it's time to head for the exit ;)

elisabeth, it is prob worth asking the doc while you are there, or even the pharmacist as i know sometimes you can get constipated but also sometimes one can get very dark poo as a result.

i wish i could knit.. well i can do basics and scarfs lol i get bored too quickly so havent got the patience for it. i used to love to crotchet (sp?) as well. maybe i will take that up when i finish.

erm is it too late for me to start any sort of exercise (swimming or yoga?). i have been so energyless. think breathing etc will really help me as it calms me when i am panicky.

finding it hard to breathe today.:( went for my jab and it tookl me FOREVER to walk there and back. i have been sat for a few mins but feel so weird like i cant breathe..

also ladies, please help me with this.. we saw the buggy/car seat we liked but for the life if me i cant choose a colour. i need to let my cousin know what i like so she can order it for me as she gets 25% at mothercare. please help me....what colours are nice in this?:

    http://www.mothercare.com/Graco-Evo-Pushchair---Lime/449992,default,pd.html?cm_re=active-_-promotion-_-Graco%2520Evo%2520Pushchair%2520-%2520Lime

we saw the lime and it is nice but the red and sand and black all look nice.. agghh help please? xxx

I would go for the lime, but the red is lovely too.

I'd say it's definitely not too late to start swimming. As long as you take it easy- it is so relaxing.

Thank you for the welcome, ladies, and for adding me to the list.

I'm in awe of any of you working; I'm lucky, as we found out I was pregnant a couple of months after moving from the south coast to the Midlands. As we've moved for my partner to take a job, I was just looking for work; we decided that, because we were coping fine on one wage and various other health factors for me, I would not find a job and just focus on the home. Very, very lucky!

For those of you who have got stretch marks, when did you start noticing them? I've been trying to get into a routine with moisturising, but I'm bad at it. I think I probably need to start properly dedicating time to it, especially as I'm currently carrying all out front. My mother in sin gave me some Argan oil that is supposed to be very good and it does feel very luxurious when I remember to use it.

Another question! Where is the best place for maternity tights for tall women? I'm quite tall, so I tend to have problems generally with them being too short in the leg. I enjoy wearing dresses though and as we've got a wedding to attend next week, I need to get something sorted!

 Argan oil! So good for the skin.

I am 5'8" and found Mothercare tights good- I bought XL even though I am only a size 14 and they were a good length (I'm 33" inside leg).

I think I have actually packed my hospital bag! Just need to add a towel and dressing gown. Only took me until 36 weeks.

Rups, apparently the urge to eat ice or soap is related to anemia and iron deficiency, it is called "pica", it should sort itself once you start with the tablets.

I have just finished lunch, so far I had: 2 crumpets with apricot jam for breakfast, 2 scrambled eggs with smoked salmon for lunch, some chorizo to nibble, a peach weightwatchers Greek yogurt and dome wotsits. I am going to have another cup if tea and maybe have a nap on the sofa, afterlunch time makes me feel very sleepy!!!

    thanks got-it-spend-it...

as was walking to the gp's i had this worry about money.. :( i know dh said if i wanted to i could stay at home and he could provide for us. that in itself is a worry as when he has been silly and angry he had said stuff about having the better job.. then i am on this government plan to pay off my debts (i took 2 stupid loans which were huge, wheni did my PhD to pay for it) so i am making regular payments each month. the thing is if i let them know of my mat leave, they will recalculate my payments and they could go down, however instead of me paying off my debts in a total of 5 years, it will take 6. i was wondering whethe to continue making my usual payments and if i do, will i struggle? stupid money issues.

Ahh, food talk :) I'm trying to spread mine out so I don't go hungry this afternoon.

Going to first CAMRA meeting this evening with hubby. They know that I won't be drinking (maybe I'll have a cheeky sip just to see what they've got on offer). Unlikely that I'll be able to persuade non-alcoholic ales, can't see them being a big seller.

I keep telling hubby that he's going to have to provide for a few months, or I'll have to come back when I'm only on SMP. Hope I can hold out for these last few weeks to get as much cash in as poss.

I think he likes the idea of us having next summer holiday together - 6 weeks together without work will be lovely :D
