Yes please! I can cope with knit and purl but that's as far as it goes for me. Have wool and needles at home but haven't found anything suitable enough for me to attempt.
I did find knitted building blocks on a website last week. Maybe I could attempt those when I finally finish work. Baby will probably be old enough to play with them by the time I get round to having a go at themLittle man arrived 13 Dec 20120 -

Congratulations to all the new mummies and welcome to the newbies.
I've just popped in to ask a quick question... Had a call from the dr this morning to say my bloods have confirmed I'm aenemic. I've got to go and pick up a prescription for iron tablets and folio acid. I remember someone a while ago mentioning iron tablets... Will they make me constipated? Should I ask for a laxative also?
Me (29 weeks) x
I've iron tablets since early on and not had any problems. I would take the lowest dose suggested (1 a day for me) but I think it depends on the person. Try to eat lots of fruit and veg and drink tons of water/liquid.moneypenny21 wrote: »Little Moog - I shall PM you about the blanket pattern thank youI never thought to look on YouTube for knitting tips. I have a magazine for beginners but sometimes even words and pictures don't help. I'm a very crafty person so it baffles me why I'm such a bad knitter!
Fingers crossed that beanie is behaving in the right position!
As for the hypnobirthing, apparently it doesn't matter too much if you fall asleep as your subconcious is still hearing the words whilst you sleep which is the important thing for hypnosis (rather than your concious mind). If you fall asleep it also means you are able to relax easily which is great.
As for stretch marks I have loads despite Bio-oiling myself to within an inch of my life each day. I'm sure its a genetic thing! They have begun to fade already though which is good but the oiling didn't prevent them thats for sure.
With my first baby I bio-oiled religiously, didn't have a stretchmark until 38 weeks and then was riddled with the things! I've been less dedicated this time as my stomach is covered already. Not had them anywhere other than my stomach though so am grateful for that.
Off to take DS1 to nursery now, but all I think about is lunch when I get back! I am starving (as usual) :rotfl:.:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -
elisabeth, it is prob worth asking the doc while you are there, or even the pharmacist as i know sometimes you can get constipated but also sometimes one can get very dark poo as a result.
i wish i could knit.. well i can do basics and scarfs lol i get bored too quickly so havent got the patience for it. i used to love to crotchet (sp?) as well. maybe i will take that up when i finish.
erm is it too late for me to start any sort of exercise (swimming or yoga?). i have been so energyless. think breathing etc will really help me as it calms me when i am panicky.
finding it hard to breathe today.:( went for my jab and it tookl me FOREVER to walk there and back. i have been sat for a few mins but feel so weird like i cant breathe..

Thank you for the welcome, ladies, and for adding me to the list.
I'm in awe of any of you working; I'm lucky, as we found out I was pregnant a couple of months after moving from the south coast to the Midlands. As we've moved for my partner to take a job, I was just looking for work; we decided that, because we were coping fine on one wage and various other health factors for me, I would not find a job and just focus on the home. Very, very lucky!
For those of you who have got stretch marks, when did you start noticing them? I've been trying to get into a routine with moisturising, but I'm bad at it. I think I probably need to start properly dedicating time to it, especially as I'm currently carrying all out front. My mother in sin gave me some Argan oil that is supposed to be very good and it does feel very luxurious when I remember to use it.
Another question! Where is the best place for maternity tights for tall women? I'm quite tall, so I tend to have problems generally with them being too short in the leg. I enjoy wearing dresses though and as we've got a wedding to attend next week, I need to get something sorted!0 -
earring mothercare do some and they might fit you well as i am short they were too big for me and ended up ripping. lol. also H&M online do nice ones. i have to order some. i am spending all my time in those thick mat leggins. so comfy.:)Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

I think on the first one, no, never too late esp if you find a pregnancy specific thing to do. Pregnancy yoga is very mild and esp if you find one that does breathing too it would probably be good for you.
I'd go for the red pushchair if it were me. Black is a bit boring, sand is probably a bit impractical (shows dirt too easily?) and I think lime is a bit bright for me...0 -

Thank you! I'll take a jaunt into town later and try mothercare, then I can always order online if needs be. I did plan on wearing leggings, as originally I was just invited to the evening do, but now OH has remembered to tell the groom that we're having a baby, I've been invited for the whole day, so figure I need to be a bit smarter!
Rups - I like both the lime and the red (to be fair, I like almost anything red!) As for exercise, if it's something you want to do then you should be fine. There's a group called Aquatums in my local area that do classes at small pools (the one I go to is in the Hilton) and is a combination of water-based cardio and yoga, plus some relaxation - floating at the end of class for a few minutes supported by those tube floats, which is amazing! It would be worth enquiring in your area, as I know the instructor who runs mine, allows those who are close to term to pay weekly.0 -
Thanks guys for your input on the buggy/carseat.
i just couldnt decide as like lime and red too. better just bite the bullet and order it as there is an offer going on too there.
thanks for that savage. where do u find all that stuff?earring, in my area in terms of aqua classes, i have tried everything and found nada, so i thought i could go for a swim at the leisure centre but havent been able to do that as well. i have some preg dvds at home which i should use. just feel tired all the bloody time..
stretch marks, i am one of those who got then through my weight loss/gain so for me they have always been there but more red ones this time like i am bruised. so weird. i try and oil my belly but havent really done it twice a day.:(Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!
