I haven't heard of people getting them after the birth but some notice them afterwards, when the skin is not so tight. I am trying to be very constant now, some people get them in the last couple of weeks. I already got some, not big. Like 1 inch or so, but it is annoying because I was doing so well!! I relaxed the routine and bang!! There they were!!
the ones that appeared on my hips around the beginning of the 2nd trimester have mostly faded now with the cream. They were purple red at first but now look almost skin colour. Like when it is cold and you get like red
and lighter areas on your hands? That it is barely there the difference? That is how the look now. I think once I drop all the retained liquid on the area and I do some exercise, they won't be very noticeable at all. But I need now to deal with the ones behind the knees and at the sides of my waist, where I did not put cream regularly. I spoke of this cream before, but for the new ones, I am using Palmer's cream for stretch marks with bio c-elaste, the ingredients of that one appeared in several medical journals as scientifically proven to be of some effect to prevent and treat. The combination is vitamin e ( alpha tocopherol), centella asiatica ( gotu kola) and collagen elastin. Palmer's only has that combination in the products marked as "with bio c-elaste", not the others. If you can find that combination in other brand, I guess it is the same. I just found that one cheaper compared to other options available online. It is not a miracle, but it certainly worked for me when constant, Imight get some but my mum was full of them in the tummy by the 30th week and I have none there, where I have been more careful. It is supposed genetics are a great factor in wether you get stretch marks and/or varicose veins, so I think it is working for me. Even if I get some, I might have reduced the chances a lot, imo.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Please post your birth stories here when you have time/energy:smileyheaBaby Aida is here :j:j:jBaby fund - £3140/£60000 -
Morning,
Marta I use both Bio oil and Palmer the one you mentioned. I think as long as you use any creams/oils twice a day you will be OK.
Taadaa I hope you had you're little one by now.
Have a nice day everyone!:smileyheaBaby Aida is here :j:j:jBaby fund - £3140/£60000 -
Morning ladies
Hope we get some baby news from Taadaa and Babynumber4 today! I still can't believe I'm in the top 10 on the list, how did that happen?! :rotfl: surely my baby needs another couple of months yet?! 39 week MW appointment this morning, hopefully Beanie will have turned over to the right position since last week
Not much else planned today, need to go to Tesco after the MW and that's about it!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Savage, I am looking forward to know how your birth goes ( when the time comes. Not putting pressure on you, lol), since we are both aiming for a water birth and some hypnobirth... which I haven't properly followed yet.. How are you doing with that? I have a CD, which I have passed to mp3, let me know if you want to have a listen...
My hypnobirthing preparation is also not going too well, I never seem to have the time to listen to it except just before bed and then I fall asleep. I have the 4cd set but realised I bought the hospital one instead of the home birth one (at the time was going for a hospital birth) so have now bought the home birth CD as well and am waiting for that to arrive! I also then spotted that they do a cd specifically for during labour so bought that too. As well as the book to go with it all... I will have to set aside a specific time each day to do it I think. Lunchtime at work would be good except I'm worried I will fall asleep at my desk (nevermind all the strange breathing noises!) and it's too cold to go out and do it! Maybe as soon as I get home from work.0 -
morning all. hope you are well.
think it is late for me to try all these stretch marks creams. was using the mum and me range but oh well. i will just embrace them. hehe..
i have some hypno stuff a friend lent me and like you savage i fall asleep. so i havent listened. also been very bad with my pelvic exercises.
have to get ready now and go for my flu jab. dont want to go out. sigh.. am tired as always...
speak soon. xxBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!
Little Kung fu bubba due on the 24th of December 2012. :j

Morning ladies,
Congratulations to all the new mummies and welcome to the newbies.
I've just popped in to ask a quick question... Had a call from the dr this morning to say my bloods have confirmed I'm aenemic. I've got to go and pick up a prescription for iron tablets and folio acid. I remember someone a while ago mentioning iron tablets... Will they make me constipated? Should I ask for a laxative also?
Me (29 weeks) x0 -
Lol mlbarrett
I had so far: crumpets with apricot jam, wotsis [sp?] crisps, one banana, two kiwis, a breaded chicken breast with walker crisps and a low kcal chocolate mousse. I took some salmon out for tea but DH has told me we could get something on the way back from the library. I forgot I had to return a book today, so he is giving me a lift when he is back from work, and we might get something... I fancy fish and chips though!
We shared a battered sausage and chips last night. Just in the mood to eat rubbish at the moment.Little man arrived 13 Dec 20120 -
I'm starting to feel huge and tired now. Baby is side on so in some clothes, I can almost hide bump. Managed to avoid stretch marks on bump itself but have some on breasts, inner thighs and top of hips. Must start becoming more regular with the cream.
Having to work to the end as work won't offer my colleagues and me a permanent contract (even after 5.5 years - boooo) and we're hourly paid so need to make the most of it. 18 days to go after today (too late to change my mat leave dates now).
Really not in the mood to work today so going to leave MSE running in the background.
Just read on FB that my friend finishes on Friday for her ML. She's not due until Jan - very nice break for her
Now, have my decaf coffee, where are my biscuits??Little man arrived 13 Dec 20120 -

I'm on iron for anaemia as well (although I certainly don't feel anaemic, but the test says so...) I'm on 'Fersamal' and while your digestion certainly does changeI've not been constipated. I know some people do suffer that way so it is worth asking but I wouldn't start taking them unless you need to. The pamplet thingy helpfully says that they can cause both diarrhoea and constipation!!
I've also heard that there is a form of iron which is easier on the digestive system but I've not tried it, figured I'd give these a go first.0
