Thank you for all your lovely well wishes. I have been recommended acupuncture as well, but doubt l can get booked in before Mon. If it is something any of you ladies would like to try though it might be better to build a relationship with one thay you trust before you get to my stage!I have had many Light Bulb Moments. The trouble is someone keeps turning the bulb off

Forgot to say they attempted a sweep last week but my cervix hasn't effaced yet, or at least hadn't at that point. It wasn't painful just a bit uncomfortable. l felt sore and had some spotting for about 24 hours after, but they gave me a towel to use straight after. My MW is a lazy cow so when l saw her after she discharged me as l had my induction appt already and the hosp consultant didn't request she tried another one. She had been off sick since l was 28 weeks so wasn't best pleased to see her back, otherwise l would have insisted on an appt this week and another attempt.I have had many Light Bulb Moments. Near where I live there is a physio-yoga-accupuncture centre, when I asked a couple of months ago about prices and if their treatments are suitable for pregnancy, they told me that they had a few pregnant ladies around full term who gave birth the following day after having a long acupuncture of reflexology session. Something to do apparently with releasing certain chemicals when relaxed and this triggering the hormone oxy-something, whatever it is called. I will certainly give it a try if I am full term, not cheap, like £40-£60 the full hour, but it cannot hurt, the worst that can happen is that you end up completely relaxed!!!
Oxytocin is what you give to pigs when they aren't farrowing (i.e. labouring!) as they should - if it works for pigs it might work for us!

It does work for us. It's the hormone that's given if your labour is induced (or the synthetic version called syntocinon)."Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0 -
Did they check you again to see if your cervix is now 'riper'?0

I spent the morning doing some Christmas shopping, pretty much got DDs Christmas eve hamper and her matchbox advent calendar sorted. Then spent the afternoon ironing so I'm knackered now and my bump feels sore as ive been on my feet for so long. Hope he doesn't come tonight as I'm too tired. Going to have supper then head to bed I think.
Good luck with the induction on Monday taadaa, hope your baby comes before then. I've another sweep booked for Saturday but if he's still not here I'll be induced on Tuesday at 40+10.:j little fire cracker born 5th November 2012 :j0 -

Baby is head down, but back to back (their spine facing my back instead of my front). Not ideal as it can lead to longer/more painful labour, but should still be able to deliver naturally. Hopefully pesky bean will turn the right way round before D-day anyway. You've still got ages to go, so probably worth trying a few of the exercises to turn yours as wellLittle monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160
