Back to work for me today, but I've got my jabs and mw appointment this morning so getting a bit of a lie in 36 weeks today, and only 4 days left to work - the end seems to be creeping up on me rather quickly! :eek:

She's adamant she wants to come as she wants to be happy for me which is just lovely of her - not sure I could be that nice having just gone through a crappy mc to go and see good friend with v clear bump. Anway, my question was going to be what should I do/say/avoid? But having just written it down I think I know my own answer - I be the friend I always have and always will.

Your poor friend it's always such sad news, hopefully the next one will be a sticky bean. I think you have answered your own question too, try to act as normal, and don't shy away from it if she wants to talk about it. That's what I found most upsetting after my Mum died that people would try and change the subject. Stocking up on chocolate/ice cream/wine probably wouldn't go amiss either

how sad. You sound like a lovely friend to be so considerate of her feelings. From personal experience - Don't moan in any way about any aspect of pregnancy (we all know it can be a PITA but she'd give anything for those aches/pains/exhaustion/nausea right now ), don't bang on about pregnancy (which I'm sure you won't anyway) but don't completely avoid the subject either. She is your friend and she is happy for you and wants to know about your plans for your new little family (but maybe just a toned down version). Be aware she is probably very sensitive at the moment and just take your lead from her.

morning ladies how are you?

Before I forget, I think Ikkle has had her little one... Don't quote me on it yet but i think she has from the FB group.

zcrat was it you speaking of your friend coming round to stay? (sorry baby brain already). That is so sweet of you, but like said here, just try be normal and if she wants to talk about it, listen to her. my best friend has had 3 mc now.:( poor thing. i first felt that i am not sure she wanted to see me, but she did and she chatted about normal stuff (and not her mc as she keeps everything closed inside her). Then by herself, she told me about tests she is now undergoing. she asks me about my preg herself and then i tell her. i am sure you two will have fun catching up.

as for me, in the end, i went to the labour ward to be checked out as rang them up first and they said to have some paracetamol and wait for an hour. it was still kind of there, so went. It was weird as was strapped into that monitor tracing the baby's beat and also to see if i was contracting. luckily for me, i wasnt,and they checked BP, temp and urine. then the doc came and did a swab to test. yuck yuck yuck..

i was given codeine and paracetamol to take home and see if it does anything. they said if the pain is there to come back. Fluf its just an uncomfy pain like an INS type one. it kind of is there today but not as bad. i am nt like crying out in pain but its there. they said could be tha bubba pressing on somehting in there. i feel groggy after that tablets which i took last night. coming into work stressed me out.

I'm due December 21st with a little lad. He seems to be wanting to make an appearance sooner though!

Morning folks, hope everyone is okay this morning! I'm still having cramps and mild tightenings so I've took another day off work, I'm hoping to go back on shorter shifts next week, just for something to do. It's just a desk job so it's not taxing and the bosses are amazing about letting me have a walk about if I get uncomfortable.

Rups, it sounds like we're having similar experiences except I'm definitely contracting. I wouldn't worry too much about it, relax, put your feet up and enjoy the cocodamol. it's more than likely your body getting ready for labour. That's what I'm putting my pains down to.

really misskeith? it freaks me out. i got freaked out yest as i kept saying to myself that i am not ready yet. lol. stupid DH was at kung fu as well so i was worrying that in case i am what will i do? do they test to see if you are contracting, and if you are, send you back home till waters break? i wouldnt even know if my waters broke, esp as they say, it could be a tickle or a sudden gush of water.. lol. so clueless. I am at work today at kings cross and hating it, esp the commute. got 1.5 months till ML and it seems so so far. just want to sit at home and chill but cant.
