really misskeith? it freaks me out. i got freaked out yest as i kept saying to myself that i am not ready yet. lol. stupid DH was at kung fu as well so i was worrying that in case i am what will i do? do they test to see if you are contracting, and if you are, send you back home till waters break? i wouldnt even know if my waters broke, esp as they say, it could be a tickle or a sudden gush of water.. lol. so clueless. I am at work today at kings cross and hating it, esp the commute. got 1.5 months till ML and it seems so so far. just want to sit at home and chill but cant.
Well I went in and they ran a few tests, one to see if I was likely to go into labour early within the next 48 hours (mine came back positive - eep!!) and the monitor they strap you to can pick up the contractions, which mine did so they kept me in for two nights. I've had steroid injections and a flashlight up my hoo ha numerous times and my cervix is still nice and closed so this just could be very early labour or just my body preparing for it. If they've discharged you, I wouldn't fret at all. Even if they had the slightest concern, they would have admitted you. The fact that they didn't is a good sign!
It's hard when you're on your own when you have a scare isn't it? Luckily, I work with my partner so he was there when I originally started getting the pains but I made him stay there whilst my dad whisked me to hospital. The big boss seems to really like us though so he sent him after me not too long after. Only problem is, when he got to the hospital, they told him I was in the delivery suite. I don't think I've ever seen him so out of breath before, apparently he nearly pooed his pants and sprinted across the hospital to get to me. :rotfl:Have I helped? Feel free to click the 'Thanks' button. I like to feel useful (and smug).0 -
awh bless. i do hope mine is around, as he tends to be so busy doing his kung fu or something or the other. oh well the best i can do is let him know and he will have to come down one way or another. he works up in Canary wharf and me in Kings cross, so i am hoping all starts when i am at home so i am nearer croydon hospital.
yes i saw that chart yesterday and they showed me that there were no contractions. phew. the baby hated that monitor though and i was laughing at the way he/she was kicking it. i hated the swab. i get so tense and they asked me to relax. yuck. i hope i dont get to this sweep stages as i will hate that!Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

:rotfl:I bet he was expecting to find you huffing and puffing away ready to give birth like they do in the films:rotfl:0 -
LOL> huffing and puffing! i do want to see how these men cope. on OBEM some men are so nice and some dont know what to do! At the nct class, the men were warned that women get irrational and the more stubborn ones have to be calm and patient, esp when they are being told not to come near women again! Lol
thanks littlemoog. i was wondering where my water is going?Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!
