Neph, thats a good idea, will definately look into Benadryl.

Thanks babymonster, thought my midwife knew what she was talking about, maybe not! Everyone has different ideas though I guess!

    Hey everyone. :)

It's my DH and I's 2nd wedding anniversary today. :) He made me cheese on toast in bed and bought me "The Hobbit" as a present. He knows me so well. :D

DH has new reading glasses and our cat keeps trying to take them off of his face. It's hilarious!

We're going to make Smarties cakes soon and DH is making a nice pasta bake for dinner. :)

In pregnancy-related news, I am so unbelievably itchy "down there". TMI I know but it's horrible and I forgot to mention it to the midwife yesterday! Does anyone else get it? :o Sorry, I haven't managed to read back yet.:o

    Hope you're all okay.

Just what I was thinking. Worth getting it checked out. I'm certainly not itchy.

That was my first thought as I know that it's more common during pregnancy. I know that I don't have any STIs (my hubby and I are each others first sexual partners and I was tested when I had a suspected ectopic pregnancy) so it does seem like it could be the culprit.

Is Canesten safe to take during pregnancy? We're going out shopping tomorrow as an anniversary thing so I could pick some up to see if that relieves it.

It's only been the past week really that it's been so excruciatingly itchy but I don't want to be itching in public! :rotfl:

hey LadyM, happy anniversary. hope you are having a fab day.. yes that sounds like thrush. before you get anythnig ask at a pharmacy or even gp as they can sometimes give you stuff to shove up there. ewww. have lots of water too.

interesting posts about midwives and urine. i feel like i want to go all the time. when i drove us back from bath i went to the loo and thought i would be ok. halfway i needed the loo but waited till i got home. iw as dying by then.

Higher risk of blood clots / thrombosis apparently.
(plus, in my case, I mean usually legs crossed like a frog on my chair, which is probably not good for persuading baby to stay head down in there!!)

completely irrelevant question. those who drive, do you have a satnav? which is a good yet reasonable to get? i have been advised to get the tomtom as that is meant to be good. am looking and want a good yet cheap one. thanks ;)

Rups, DH has a Garmin and he is very pleased with it. He has not had to put any more money on it (like updates or maps) and he has used it for over two years now.

LadyMorticia, is it on the outside or the inside? I got itchiness on the outside, around the labia, where the pubic hair is (sorry if TMI). The midwife at the hospital told me to put E45, and that was all. Apparently the increase in blood supply made the area warmer, this made it more sensitive and it got drier. I used the cream at night for a few days and it stopped. But again, it was just superficial and on the outside, very uncomfortable though!
I would not put anything medicated without checking first. You should have a telephone number on your pregnancy notes, on the front, where you could ask things like that.
