  • I'm still here, but hopefully not for long. Had a sweep yesterday, 2-3cm dilated and all positive for going into labour soon. Had some tightenings as well and a show since then.

Only problem was had protein in urine and high blood pressure, the midwife didn't see why I burst into tears when she all matter of factly said, you probably have pre-eclampsia so best go be induced this afternoon with drip, epidural the full works! Great bedside manner there! Turns out I don't at all, blood pressure is only high for me, not in general, and bloods came back fine. Just waiting for 2nd and 3rd urine samples to be tested this morning.

Seriously annoyed about the way the midwife dealt with it, and spent all yesterday afternoon stressed about it, I still am a bit as I think birth centre plans may now be out the window but will see when the wee results are back. The hospital were lovely, didn't seem concerned at all though so fingers crossed things kick off naturally today.

Sorry for ranty/scary post, especially with new people around - welcome to you all:), I will read back now.

ps moneypuddle - sweep was fine and not painful at all I would recommend it
  • Good luck candycane! I hope the samples come back fine and you get the birth you want. X

  • First day of my holidays before maternity leave and it's been great. I saw OH off to work at 6.15 then DD off to school at 8.30 then went back to sleep till 10.30 :j. I've cleaned the kitchen, hung out two loads of washing, hosed down our windows and paths as we've just had the house harled and now I'm sipping some raspberry leaf tea before I gut DD's toy cupboards. Hopefully our window cleaner comes this week as I can hardly see out of them due to the mess of the harling, guaranteed if I cleaned them myself he'd come the next day :D (that's my excuse and I'm sticking to it!)

Afternoon everyone labour vibes to all you bodies out there. Ok - so I'm quickly moving up the list  stayed in 40s for about 2 minutes it seems.

If possible can someone move my EDD to 1st December when you next do the list, I don't want to do it wrong :o sorry to the person above me who I bump down 1!!!

I've got 3 days off work this week holiday as I want to use a bit up before I tag the rest on to my mat leave. I'm so glad I did as I'm knackered ;) slept for much of the morning. Have a few bits I want to do today though. Yesterday I sorted all my DD clothes out into ages - this was done previously but I had to reward them all when we had a mouse infestation in the garage and I had to re wash the all. Also found changing bag out of garage and a few other bits. Want to try and pack bag today. Will also list a few bits for sale if I can.

Have a great day everyone :)

I didn't get either. I was a fat, dull, listless lump throughout my pregnancy. On a brighter note, I look fabulous now! Plus I'm doing loads of cleaning (although buying, not one, but two dysons might have something to do with that :D)
