Thanks for that marta. very much appreciated. xxx
i have no idea how i was born. i should ask my mum. so weird because i was given up for adoption, we just dont share that bond.. i think she had natural births for 4 of us, but i could be wrong.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

I was a c-section... they found out I was too big for my mum's pelvis. She still waited for her waters to break before having the c-section though. I was only 2 days late
that could explain why I'm never on time lol it would also explain why she wants to know when exactly baby will arrive! Let me get my crystal ball out mum. Bless her cotton socks!
:jBaby girl born 3rd October 2012:j0 -
I was very straightforward apparently - My mum went into labour at about 10.30pm on my due date, had contractions at home through the night, woke my Dad up the next morning and got him to drive her to the hospital and I made an appearance at about 5.30pm that day. Epidural when she got there, no interventions, no stitches
I have been given all the baby clothes in the world by some very generous friends of ours (who are having a boy this time around!). I still have a list of things to buy, but I'm sort of ignoring it - we're coming to the end of some massive household renovations (we had a structural wall knocked down and new kitchen put in) so I want a chance to sort that out first. Given that on Friday I'll be 32 weeks, I probably shouldn't put it off too much longer - DH keeps nagging me to put my hospital bag together!
Going back to the conversations you were having about money, we're saving to supplement the SMP. DH's income covers all of our outgoings, but we have nothing spare to spend, so anything we save/bring in is frittering money.0 -
Lol bikelesschick at "bless her cotton socks".
My mum also wanted me to tell her when I was giving birth, so she could book a cheap flight in advance! But I do not how she even thought that would be possible I was born at 30 weeks ... eeeeeek, that is how far I am now into the pregnancy, so weird to think about that!
I called Mothercare and apparently my order is out for delivery, just the website that has not updated and therefore I have not received an email telling me it had been sent. I will wait and see!
You are welcome, Rups, I hope it saves you some money!
Clothing advice for 30 weeks and over? I am ebaying like mad for new clothes ... :S ... I just feel so frustrated I cannot put on most of my wardrobe!!! Funny thing is I do not have problems with tops, which would be expected, but with the bottoms! I still can put my old t-shirts, they just stretch but with a bump band underneath, my belly is covered. I cannot put any jeans, not even the maternity ones I bought at the end of the first trimester...I have been wearing leggings, but they were normal ones (not maternity) and I cannot wear them comfortable either, when I take them out I have the mark of the seam all over! Lol. I broke the only pair of maternity tights I had, which were really comfy. So... what are you girls wearing? I am bidding for more maternity jeans, this time another size up! I was thinking ot would not be worth for a couple of months... but the problem is I have nothing to wear other than nighties, long t-shirts and a tracksuit maternity trouser!!! I cannot get out of the flat like this!
I feel so... idk... ugly, I guess! I just need clothes that fit me, but I need them to fit me until delivery. Would an extra size up in maternity jeans be enough? Should I buy maternity leggings (also one size up)? I am also worried it will be too cold soon! I have started to look for a cape coat, which I think should cover me enough now, plus I might be able to use it afterwards aswell, considering they have no shape and are just like a big poncho with some cuts for the arms. Advice?

Morning!
Congrats snowy! Hope you doing well.
Savage - never fear. Just because you or anyone else was delivered one way doesn't mean you will be. It all depends on how your pelvis behaves during delivery. I was a c-section as i was breech presentation. We're not sure about DH (long story) but we think he was fairly normal delivery. I was 6lb 4oz and DH was about 7lb. Our DS arrived 2 years ago this Friday on his due date at 10lb 10oz, episiotomy needed but other than that it was a straightforward delivery with no complications. I got him out on my own. A big baby doesn't mean you have to have an assisted birth. As the nurse in my local practice very succinctly put it afterwards - "My word, you must have a pelvis like a bucket" :rotfl:. I so hope that bucket like pelvis of mine means that this baby arrives in a straightforward delivery!
bikeless - whereabouts in NI are you? (nosy curiosity )0 -
lol that is funny nephtys. lol.. bucket.
marta, i have the same problem. the thing is ended up just going to new look and spending the cash as i am useless at bargains etc. i am busting out of my jacket now and need a new one, and i went on ebay and bid for 2 only to be outbid. so i cant wait around. either will go to primark or asda (whichever first) and buy a !!!!!! size as i rfeally need stuff. also as winter in approaching i need some jumpers etc. i am getting rid of my old stuff as i can buy a new wardrobe afterwards. lol. heres hoping. we need space to in the house. i have too many clothes. i bought a pair of maternity tights from debenhams ages ago and in a size bigger and they are the best. shame i only have one so will need to get another one as i wear them all the time, and in the winter with those long jumper type stuff they will be fine. i cant be asked to also make effort to look good etc as some maternty stuff is so boring lol.Became Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

On the clothes front, if you have bottoms which are stretchy-er it might work better. I've bought a pair of Isabella Oliver bottoms which are actually more like non-tight leggings which should see me through (jersey type material and loosely cut). I can also still get into some of my old bottoms but with the bump band, although if I'm sitting they're not often comfortable. Leggings are OK for me at the moment and I'm also liking the skirt with a layer underneath option,
I've struggled with underwear lately as my normal 'boy short' styles were getting too tight on my thighs. Since discovered that the old bikini-style work much better!
I've bought a coat from ebay (new) from Poland, which I figured would at least be warm, it arrived yesterday and that will just have to do. It's not the most flattering but for me I need it to be waterproof as I'm still cycling to work.
Top wise I am hoping to layer and have bought two cardigans (one wrap style, one maternity mamas & papas) with that in mind and should have enough maternity tops to shove underneath.0 -
I can't help on the clothes front as still wear my normal clothes but would say at 30 weeks don't spend too much money xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
