Ikkle, agree wholeheartedly, the only problem is I don't want to be cold, so all the maternity stuff I've got so far is more summery but now it's started to get cold I'm needing more stuff. I'm hoping to go it with what I've got so far (esp with the cardigans etc), it was the coat that was the main expense and hopefully it will get daily use from now till the end.

i think i will go to good old primani and get a bigger size. i saw one there 2 weeks ago even though at the mo their coat selection is rubbish..

can i ask if anyone has had weird spots on their belly? i find a few here and there, and they are like normal pimples. i have also seen some other little ones, reddy ones, but smaller and not sure if they are going to be white or not.. hope its not chicken pox or something lol. they are not that many but i sometimes hve them here and there on my belly.

Savage, I found a couple around Manchester area, I first checked how far it was in public transport and then chose one:

    * Abraham Moss Leisure Center (near Bury tram line): Wednesdays 7pm-8pm, £2.10 per session

    * Moss Lane Leisure Center (near Asda in Moss Side, behind Universities): Friday 12-1pm, £2.40 per session. I tried this one, the midwife is different every week, the girls are nice. It is 45min exercise, followed by 15 minutes of coffee and questions. On paper was the closest to me, but I have to take a bus and then walk 15 minutes, I do not fancy walking in the rain, so I have decided to go to Altrincham, which is just at the end of the tram line, crossing the street, very straight forward and although further away on the map, it takes me the same time to get there because I have not got to walk, just sit on the tram until the last stop.

    * Altrincham Community Leisure Centre, in Altrincham city centre, in front of the stop (20-25 min journey from Manchester city centre). Thursdays 11:45 - 12:45, the first day you need to be earlier to fill a form. £3.20 per session. The place has been refurbished recently.

    * Levenshulme Centre (M14 3HE): Thursdays 1:30pm-2:30pm, £1 per session [double check, I asked at the beginning of Summer]

    * Stretford Pool (M32 0ZS): Mondays 6pm-7pm [double check, I asked at the beginning of Summer]

I also have some notes and places on yoga, antenatal classes and hypnobirth if you are interested.

  • Not sure about red spots on belly, sorry. Maybe give your mw/GP a call and just ask?

As for clothes, at 37 +4 I have one pair of casual trousers that still fits me from New Look and some maternity leggings. But I find that dresses are the way to go.

In the cold weather I've been surviving with thick cardis and my normal coats. They don't actually cover the bump, I wear them unbuttoned and I've not been too cold yet.

Lol bikelesschick at "bless her cotton socks". :D My mum also wanted me to tell her when I was giving birth, so she could book a cheap flight in advance! But I do not how she even thought that would be possible I was born at 30 weeks ... eeeeeek, that is how far I am now into the pregnancy, so weird to think about that!

I called Mothercare and apparently my order is out for delivery, just the website that has not updated and therefore I have not received an email telling me it had been sent. I will wait and see!

You are welcome, Rups, I hope it saves you some money!

Clothing advice for 30 weeks and over? I am ebaying like mad for new clothes ... :S ... I just feel so frustrated I cannot put on most of my wardrobe!!! Funny thing is I do not have problems with tops, which would be expected, but with the bottoms! I still can put my old t-shirts, they just stretch but with a bump band underneath, my belly is covered. I cannot put any jeans, not even the maternity ones I bought at the end of the first trimester... :( I have been wearing leggings, but they were normal ones (not maternity) and I cannot wear them comfortable either, when I take them out I have the mark of the seam all over! Lol. I broke the only pair of maternity tights I had, which were really comfy. So... what are you girls wearing? I am bidding for more maternity jeans, this time another size up! I was thinking ot would not be worth for a couple of months... but the problem is I have nothing to wear other than nighties, long t-shirts and a tracksuit maternity trouser!!! I cannot get out of the flat like this! :( I feel so... idk... ugly, I guess! I just need clothes that fit me, but I need them to fit me until delivery. Would an extra size up in maternity jeans be enough? Should I buy maternity leggings (also one size up)? I am also worried it will be too cold soon! I have started to look for a cape coat, which I think should cover me enough now, plus I might be able to use it afterwards aswell, considering they have no shape and are just like a big poncho with some cuts for the arms. Advice?

I feel your pain- I am living in maternity leggings (from eBay) with tunic type tops (some maternity, some non-maternity in a size up, and will be wearing leggings with long jumpers when it gets colder. I find wearing boots too means I'm warm enough. I have one pair of smart maternity (Next) work trousers that still fit (at 31 weeks) and luckily only have a couple of weeks left at work so they should last. I also have two smart dresses that I wear to work with tights.

Once I start Mat Leave I will just wear legging and comfy tops!I plan to eBay all my smart maternity clothes before baby comes!

  • Aquanatal is one of the things I plan to do on Mat Leave. The only one near me is on a Monday at 10am....goodness knows why as surely a lot of pregnant ladies work. Luckily my Mum has DS on a Monday so I will be able to.

Oh, I wish my old jeans fitted with the bump band, but they do not even go up to the hips!! I started with my old jeans, by the end of the first trimester I could not sit down on those, so I bough maternity jeans, two pairs, in a bigger size than usual. By the end of the second trimester, those two are also too tight now, I cannot sit down without all the seams hurting everywhere and my legs go very itchy and tired, as if the blood circulation were being cut :( . I had a few leggings, extra size too, which I put under the bump, but they start to hurt also around there. I am only comfy with dresses, but they are all summery and I only have one pair of maternity tights... which I broke! I do not want to spend much, but I will need something to be out of the flat for the next 10-12 weeks! :( It is ridiculous, I still can put most of my tops, which were not a big size, just long enough and stretchy; but my bum has grown two sizes and nothing seems to contain it!! Lol

EDIT: got it spend it: Are you happy with the ebay maternity leggings? I was looking at them now, are they a bit see-through or are they completely opaque?

Rups: funny you say that, I got exactly that same thing about three days ago, like little tiny red dots on top of the belly. DH said they were sweat rash, as I had been a bit hot during the night. It turned out he was right, and the following day they had disappeared. Keep an eye on them, though, mine were not itchy at all. If you see they itch or you get more, I'd go to the doctor.

    Afternoon ladies :)

Maternity clothes, check out ASOS for basics - my maternity leggings from there are so comfy. Also I think M&P have a sale on though it will mostly be summer stuff but might be ok for layering. I'm mostly wearing maternity tops with my normal cardigans as most of them are waterfall style and the ones that do button up I always leave open. I'm getting a bit fed up of my maternity stuff, but have ordered a few nursing tops now that I'm near the end and they're designed to fit pregnant ladies as well as postnatally - might be worth looking into?

Had 34 week MW appointment this morning - all well, bump measuring spot on and starting to engage

Have booked my flu and whooping cough jabs for 2 weeks time when I have my next MW appointment, can't quite believe that will be my last week of work . Apparently it takes up to 2 weeks for the antibodies to be generated from the whooping cough jab, so it's important to have it before 38 weeks if you can.
