Toni, I almost forgot, great pic of your dog! I love pets, I wish I had one, but they do not allow them in the building. I always spoil them, though!
savage, I guess you finally went to do the hospital tour? What do you think? When I went it was very quiet and some rooms were empty, we could have a look at the waterbirth room and the general waiting area. Was it busy when you went? I might go again before the birth, I went when I was just over 3 months!Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

Well done missmonkeymoo! Sounds like you had a lovely birth
I've just terrified myself by watching One Born Every Minute. I've really got to stop doing that when I have a week to go. I've not slept for the last two months for being terrified of giving birth. The fear just isn't going away0 -
Why do you all go so early to bed? I can't sleep until 1am and this thread goes to sleep at 10pm! Lol
I thought the 3rd trimester starts on week 28, but I am not sure now!!
I am watching Stargate, I have been watching it for months, I think baby will now know the tune as a lullaby lol
Moneypuddle, I still haven't watch it but think positively, they probably show only interesting (aka not straight forward and simple) births, otherwise it would not make tv? I am still thinking of the hypnobirth, has anyone done it? Can you find it online for free? The sessions are expensive, but they are supposed to help you relax and prepare your mind for birth.Quit smoking *1st January 2010*

?
I'm never sure. If the trimester were all equal they would end at 13 and a bit week, twenty six and a half weeks and then forty weeks, but I'm pretty sure most people class their first trimester as 12 weeks, so I'm not sure it works that way. I strangely though of it in 4 stage - under 12 weeks, 12-20 weeks, 20-30 weeks and 30-40 weeks! I don't know why they don't just do it in quarters - would be a whole lot easier!0 -

(sorry, Marta, couldn't resist - jokes aside, tiredness can be a killer, not literally!)
Moneypuddle- I'm scared toowhat are you most afraid of?

Lol bikelesschick
. I meant 10pm! I am tired but I don't seem to fall asleep until 1am
Then in the morning I can't get up until after 10am, and later I need a nap. DH falls asleep at 11pm or so aswell! I just watch serie after serie without volume and with subtitles so DH doesn't wake up!

Hard to put my finger on it. Just ALL of it. I don't think I have a very high pain threshold as I've never really experienced any pain. I am terrified of hospitals and medical staff and beeping machines and have Group B Strep so am worried about the baby's health when he's born. I'm worried they will take him away straight away then tell me there's a problem. I'm worried that I won't be able to cope with the pain, or the pain relieving techniques, that all the breathing exercises I learnt at yoga will just escape me. I'm also a bit scared of losing my dignity as I'm very shy and get embarassed easily. How about you?0 -
Marta - I don't go to bed till the early hours and then I'm still awake every hour or so till I get up at around 5ish. I just don't come on the group as its so quiet lol. Re hypnobirthing you can buy a cd on amazon which is really good. I've just sold my copy on.
I believe 2nd tri is 27 weeks but 28 weeks is the pivotal development point where babies odds of survival massively improve.
The practicalities of labour like pain, pushing etc don't scare me but then I've been a regular at the hospital for years lol. It's more the emotional side of will I love him, will he love me, will me and OH manage etc that scares me.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
