Morning all!

Well that may be the last list I do. Woke up with very strong period pains this morning that don't go when I go for a wee or move around and come in waves for around a minute. Just went for a wee and think I'm losing my mucus plug a little at a time too. Have told Moon that although this may be a false alarm, that it may also be early labour, so will see how things go during the day. Don't think there is a regular pattern to the pains yet, and I've just made Moon clean the bath in case I need to use that for pain relief. Don't know why but I assumed that the pains would be in my back as all the pain-relieving methods they discuss at antenatal are all about back massage, but can't see how these would help me when my pain in all at the front.

Will keep you all posted.

Sexymouse - fingers crossed for you! That's exactly how i started with DS. Really strong period pains that went from anywhere from 7 mins apart to 25 mins apart from 3am and throughout the day and then all of a sudden by 6pm they got very regular and very strong. Mucus plug was coming away in bits from early afternoon as well. DS was born at 4.30am the next morning. Think I spent the day watching tv, bouncing on a ball and timing contractions! Make sure and eat regularly if you can just in case it is labour starting to keep your strength up. Good luck!

Thanks - timing contractions/pains on the timer from the birth list - I'd recommend this to everyone as it clearly sets out how long they are and how far apart. Ate a couple of weetabix in between pains so at least have eaten something. Just put my maternity notes and birth plan in my labour bag and need to pack a few things in my post-birth bag in a minute. Pains are fairly regular at the moment but will see if they remain so (will time for an hour as I think that's the criteria they look at). This post is taking me a while to type as I have to keep on stopping. lol

Get walking, even if its just up & down the room, mine all but stopped when i did but as i walked they came back (also found it easier to deal with being upright)

All mine were at the front, low down, like someone was squeezing my bits


just popped on quickly to say to anyone getting maternity pads avoid the mothercare ones. they feel soft but scrunch up almost straight away and are useless.

As for mothercare mat pads, I got some. Would I be able to return them/ swap for something else? What do you girls think?

Morning all

How exciting SM, hope this is it for you! How considerate of Bean to arrive while MIL is away

I had a really nice bath last night, and then slept for the whole night :j I honestly can't remember doing that since I got my BFP! I was busting for the loo when I woke up though, had to waddle very quickly to the bathroom

Since yesterday evening, I've had a really strong feeling that Beanie is a boy. I've had no feeling one way or the other up until now, but I'm suddenly convinced of it! so strange, will have to wait to see if I'm right obviously! Better get on with finding some boys names we can agree on, as we're still at an impasse.

Hugs to all that need them, and labour vibes where wanted. Hope we get some good news from MMM today

Sexymouse - do you have stairs in your house? - they're good for helping too. I used the contraction master on the birth plan as well and found it fab. Don't know your hospital's rules but I stayed at home til I could stick it no longer. My labour never really reached my back when i was at home either - it was all to the front. DH gave me back rubs anyway and I did try a tens but it made zero difference for me. The back rubs were nice in that they made my DH feel like he was helping a bit and I found them kind of relaxing.

I think our rules 3 contractions in 10 minutes or just being totally unable to cope with the pain. Think i went in at 2 contractions in 10 mins and by the time I got there and was examined I was at the 3 in 10. Was still only 4cm! Apparently I took ages to get into established labour but when i did there was no stopping me! Hope that happens this time!

I was also one of those for whom a warm bath speeded things up instead of stopping them. A lot of women find it stops their labour (hence why they don't let you in a birth pool until at least 4cms here) but I didn't. The bath actually put me into established labour! Of course getting me out of it afterwards was a whole other story! :rotfl:

It does sound good - has your DH gone to work or is he with you. if at work is it easy for him to get home?

Little Moog - never worry. Sometimes when baby arrives you can take one look and know exactly what name they should have! I was totally adamant that DS was a boy despite everyone else (except DH's grandad!) insisting it was a girl. Everyone is sure this one is a girl so that must mean its a another boy! Lol! We haven't agreed names for a boy at all. We keep changing our minds but have loads of time yet.
