Thanks Marta, I got all the stuff ready last week, but as I only have about 3 things that fit me I can't pack them now anyway. Suppose I was just surprised that everyone asks from about 30 weeks if you have it ready, so when I looked at the list I was a bit like - is that it? I do have a list made of what to add in it so shouldn't be too difficult.0

Happy Birthday Rups :bdaycake:
Been sorting out my list of hospital bag things. Nope I still havent packed it, been saying I'll do it for weeks now! Regarding nursing bra's. How do I know what size to get? If my b00bs arent going to grow until my milk comes in then how am I supposed to know how big I'll get?
Also dummies, there are so many different types to choose from. I dont really want to start using them, but I know that might go out the window once babies start screaming all night long! So might get a couple just for emergencies. Any advice?
No news from me. Running out of room for babies and getting very uncomfortable but plodding along. I have my 32 week scan tomorrow morning, so will see if we are still headed for natural delivery:j:T Gorgeous twin girls born 1st Nov 2012 :T:j0 -

I was told that you should get measured at 38 weeks and then go down 1 back size and up 2 cup sizes from that measurement. Personally I wasn't convinced, so bought one cheap one in that size from the sale rail in mothercare and will send OH out for more once I know whether that one fits. I reckon I won't be going out that much for the first few days, so a slightly dirty bra or just PJ support top with pads should do me. No way I am paying £20 + for the ugliest bra I have ever seen on the offchance it will fit :rotfl:0 -
R.e dummies, we like MAM but some babies don't take to certain brands/types. So I'd say buy a few different ones and see which suits before buying a whole load of one. I always said I'd never use them, but I got a very sucky baby! xThe frontier is never somewhere else. And no stockades can keep the midnight out.0

Just popping on to reply to you martafdz!
My LO is 3 months old now and we've been cold water sterlising from about week 2 as breast feeding didn't work out unfortunately
My MIL is a HV and she recommends Milton cold water sterilising to all her parents as she has found that a lot of babies she sees get oral thrush from steam/microwave sterilisers. Obviously this isn't the case in all babies though.
I find it great, as you say it lasts for 24 hours so we change it in the morning, we do bottles, toys, dummies, medicine spoons/syringes and when we start weaning will do spoons etc! And then I sometimes use the solution to wipe down surfaces, mop the floor, wipoe his changing mat etc!
The only down side is that we're on a water meter and thats 5L of water going down the drain every day, plus all the water for the bottles and the cleaning, our bills have gone up! But think thats the case generally when you have a baby anyway!
Hope that helps! xxAttitude is a little thing that makes a big difference0 -
re nursing bras, with DS I found that my back size didn't really change while pregnant and my cup size didn't change much til 2nd trimester when it went up a couple of sizes. I was measured at 38 weeks and got mine in the same back size as i hadn't changed all pregnancy and I only went up one cup size. It was correct for me but then I started off bigger chested so maybe that had a lot to do with it.0

Thank you very much MrsBryan, I will give it a go, even for whatever reason I end up with another sterilizer, I can keep the tablets for all general sterilizing as you said. I know they use this at hospitals, so I guess it can't be bad, can it? At the moment, I am all for "multipurpose" items, and the tablets can be used for anything as long as the item fits in the bucket/container. Thank you very much!!!
Happy birthday Rups!!!

My back size is up already, can't fit in pre-preg bras at all so I'm on nursing bras already. I've got two nice ones and one which will be great for nursing I think just after birth - it was cheap too, but I wouldn't recommended it for the larger breasted amongst us due to lack of support. I think I've got good value from my two more expensive ones already. One has an 'adjustable cup size' - we'll see how well that works - and both have lots of hooks on the back for back size adjustments.0
