(hugs) you guys, it sounds like you've got some pretty insensitive 'friends'. Sadly, its at difficult/sad times you find who your true friends are.

Savavge - re box sets, I can totally recommend Breaking Bad and The Boardwalk Empire. Have you seen The Wire? I've heard its good, not seen it yet though

The Wire is AMAZING! Esp seasons 3&4. Might need a bit too much concentration for post baby brains though, the Baltimore street slang is quite hard to decipher at first ;)

It seems like lots of people were having down days this morning. Hope your feel good lists worked to cheer you up.

As far as box sets go I second Rups on Supernatural. I also love Game of Thrones, Bones, and Dexter. I found my old Dawson's Creek boxset the other day, and that made me feel really old now!

MMM - you're doing well to only eat half the chocolate orange I would've eaten the whole thing.

minted - glad everything was good at the scan :)

I actually started getting things ready today. I've still got loads to get, but I just grabbed the bits I could get in the supermarket whilst doing the food shopping.

The lady on the tills really annoyed me though. She was chatting nicely, asking how long I had left to go, and then she started spouting on about how buying the buggy early was the worst thing you can do. It's bad luck and should never go in the house with you until after the birth or it will curse everything. It's the only old wives tale that's true blah blah. She really went on about it. I thought typical it's the only thing I have bought early, and I'm nervous enough about things going wrong as it is! I wanted to tell her to shut up, I was so annoyed!

that is sad though about friends and not being there during sad times and family too.;( hugs to you all.

well from the list, i made a positive today. ;) after work i went straight to primark in croydon. there were a few mad people there but i managed to get two sets of pjs and a nighty shirt. also some underwear and some body suits for little one - only three as not sure how their quality is for bubba? got some slippers as well, and er some jewellery lol...need to wash everything and go back and get a robe and a jacket as i havent got one.

then came home and rushed to make dinner as was starving, so made a kidney bean curry and chucked some mixed veg in there and having it with rice. :) bubbas been farily quiet today but have felt some flutters so am happy. am tired though. dh is out.

  • Hello, been to yoga tonight and they performed a Baby Dance for me (clearly not the same use of the term 'BD' on here!), where they all danced around me with maracas and tambarines and football clacker. Very surreal experience. Its supposed to bring on labour anyway. Though I've still got two days to work and am having my hair done on saturday so if he could hang on a bit that would be great!

With the friendships after a loss thing, the thing I found hardest when I lost my baby was the way people changed towards me; they either avoided me or they changed the way they were with me by constantly walking on eggshells and not saying things to me because they had already decided in their head how I would react etc. I wanted to be treat the same and have them talk to me the way they would have, yes I had just lost a baby but I wasn't an ogre I was still the same person still coo'd over their babies etc. Maybe that's all it was with your friend Diszi? Maybe you were just the breaking point for her and so took the brunt but in reality she just felt hurt by people in general and felt that you'd had to keep things from her/lie because you had already decided how she would react/cope. Obviously that's not the case and you didn't want to tell anyone before 12 weeks but isolation can make people react rather irrationally. Doesn't condone what was said about you feeling the same thing though, that's a horrible thing to say to anyone.

I don't know if any of that makes sense lol.

My ex who was the baby I lost's father messaged me asking if I'd had the baby today. Very very random as I last saw/spoke to him in 2007 and I don't know how he had my number or knew I was pregnant.

Don't worry hun, old wives tales are just that, loads of people buy their pushchairs early and nothing bad happens. It's all based on coincidentals anyway. Your wee one will be fine :) x

ikkle that is weird indeed.. how the hell did your ex know? yeah people get hurt but like said, no one is an ogre and we are still humans. at first after my loss i couldnt face it, i couldnt face pregnant women and i saw them EVERYWHERE and also babies. i had to face it then when we went to see our friend's baby girl and i had to just let go..its hard though. :(
