LittleMoog wrote: »Morning ladies,
Sat at the hospital waiting for my bloods (regular appointment 2 days before consultant) and realised that my blood test card isn't in my mat notes foldermust have fallen out at my last mw appointment! hopefully I'll be able to get them to do the test anyway as I'm here.
Re: arnica tablets, the ones on the supplement list are homeopathic, so I'd personally not bother as there's nothing in themDon't know if you can get ones with actual arnica in? apparently you can also get liquid witch hazel to put on mat pads against any stitches to reduce inflammation.
Curses, they wouldn't do my bloods at the hospital. Got MW tomorrow so will have to get her to give me a card for them to be done urgently, as need the results for wednesday's consultant appointment. So annoying, as I keep everything in one folder with my notes, so not really sure where I lost the card!

I didn’t really believe the hype but I went to my antenatal class the other day and the midwife was really pushing them as amazing so I think I might just give them a go. Not sure whether to buy or hire though as there isn’t much in it and if you want them more than once I think it is cheaper to just buy.
There was a long bit at our NCT about tens on Saturday, and I'm going to get one as I figure it's worth a try! I've had similar treatment at the physio for my back last year and it helped. We were debating whether to buy/hire, and have decided to get one second hand from Ebay if we can get it for less than the price of a hire. Can buy replacement pads pretty cheaply, and if it doesn't work for me I'll sell it on again.Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Morning ladies,
Hope everyone slept well? I had an awful sleep! Had a pain in my side that went round to my back, then kept getting pins and needles in my leg... Wondered if maybe the baby was lying funny because I've never felt this before... Was horrible! I just laid in bed thinking 'god I'm only 22 weeks!! It's only going to get worse!!'
Good luck for today millibob, and happy due date mummyoftwo!

dizsi,,, i have used the tens machine and i really liked it, i think it helped to focus on something different than the pain.
Thanks for the understanding re my dh's cousin, she lives very very far away and only see her three times a year and every time she comes, she has her period but this was the only time i have upset her.Mejor morir de pie que vivir toda una vida de rodillas.0 -
I'm almost 30 weeks and I have realised that we have nothing for the baby.
Seriously.
We have:
A cot-bed
A car seat
6x sleepsuits
6x vests
7x pairs of socks
1x hat
1x blanket
1x grobag
1x sample size tube of bepanthen.
A friend of mine is lending me a rocking moses basket and TENS machine, and another friend is giving me a bundle of girls' clothes as she's having a boy this time around.
I probably need to go shopping. What else do I need?!0 -
You may want to get a baby monitor Sa-ra-ra-ra. Nappies, nappy sacks, changing mat, muslins, couple of cardigans (these may be in your friend's selection though), bottles for expressed or formula milk, baby bouncer, pushchair. That's all I can think of at the moment, but will try to have a think in case there is anything else.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

I have a sweep booked for 2.30. Bit cheesed off, was hoping to pop and avoid that but no such luck. Poor sleep again due to poorly hips, but at least I will get induction date for later in the week.
Good luck with section and good luck to anyone else that's due, even if it means queue jumping me. I'm ok with it...honest. Ha ha.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

baby bath/bath support, towels, sponges etc for bathtime
changing mat/nappies/wipes etc
If all your clothes are newborn or 0-3, maybe the same number in the other size in case you get a tidger or a giant! I have 1 niece that was too long for newborn at birth (she was nearly 10lb though!), and one that stayed in newborn until she was 3 months old!
muslins, more blankets. sheets for cotbed. moses basket sheets and blankets if friend not lending with basket.
maybe a couple of bottles/breast pump if you want to BF or a set of bottles if you want to FF, plus steriliser, or bucket and milton tablets!
drawers/wardrobe to store all this stuff in!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -
Sa ra do you have any nappies or wipes/cotton wool or nappy sacks? I'm guessing your friend has bedding for the Moses basket? But in time you'll need bedding for the cot bed. A pram? Mostly Zach has been dressed in vests and sleepsuits even when put and wrapped in a blanket. It might be worth getting another blanket or two - Zach likes to be sick on his. Something to use as burpy/sicky clothes whether muslin (I think they're expensive but got some 2nd hand as well as 19p hand towels from idea) or bibs or something. Are you planning to bf? Might be worth getting some bottles and steriliser as back up. Not sure if the bag of clothes from your friend has vests/sleepsuits in or what size you've got. So,etimes we can get through 3-4 a day depending if he's sick or wees on himself etc. do you have a baby bath? Or somewhere to bathe her or you going to put her in the main bath? Hooded towel is useful to cover up a wet wriggly baby. I got a nice one in my bounty pack at the hospital though.
Just a few of the essential things there from what ive used from my poor memory.:j Baby boy arrived 22nd August 2012 :j

Sa-ra-ra-ra you're not as bad as me. I'm 37+3 today and we have:
Tommee Tippee steriliser and bottle set
Travel system
5 vests
2 (maybe 3?) sleepsuits
3 bear pram suits
3 (maybe 4?) outfits
Box of nappies.
I've actually got more than I thought now I've written it down, but not much. Although I am looking at moses baskets online right now, so I feel like I'm doing something to prepare!
I'm only adding 6 vests, 6 sleepsuits and a hat to what I've already got. Plus a tin of formula, pack of baby wipes, moses basket and bedding. Anything else can be bought as and when for me. But I'm sure someone else can give you a proper list, as I am definitely on the minimal side when it comes to buying
Oh and I am going to sort maternity pads etc for hospital bag.
Hope you sleep better tonight elisabeth!
That is a pain LittleMoog. They won't do the bloods at my hospital without the request slip either.Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800
