Good luck for today milliebob :)

My over eating has already started for the day. I woke up starving, had cereal and was still peckish, so made a sausage sandwich. And I'm still hungry now, aargh! It's definitely going to be a stuff my face day for me.

I've got a consultant appointment this afternoon so I'm looking forward to that. I'll be gutted if they change their minds about the due date induction, it makes me nervous when I see someone different every time as they all seem to have different ideas about what to do with me.

Have a good day everyone :)

Good luck with your section today Milliebob!

Just been on facebook and another of my NCT group had her baby yesterday. One was booked in for induction yesterday afternoon too, so that just leaves me and one other person once her baby is born. The other person's due date is 20th and mine is 23rd. Part of me hopes I beat her in a way, as she hasn't been very nice to me for no apparent reason other than she seems to see me as unworthy to talk to (sorry if that makes me sound nasty).
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

    Good luck today Milliebob!!!

Sexymouse- it doesn't make you sound nasty it makes her sound like a b!tch! Hope you beat her!!

I'm coming to the end of a 24 hour shift- 2.5ish hours to go, just want to get home, I got some sleep so it's not been too bad. I have another one on Thu/fri then hopefully not again until November sometime. Hubby is on hols for 12 days and DD has a long weekend off school this coming weekend (local hol) so although I'm working most days a lot of days are short shifts so we may start checking out mothercare etc for baby buys.

Eta- take 2 of the 20 week scan tomorrow (at 22 weeks) if I get the bloomin' appointment time right! Another peek at bubs though, can't wait, hope everything is as it should be.

Welcome to mrs b and I can't remember much else apart from yesterday's food chat, someone mentioned phish food, that bad boy is definitely going into my trolley this week!!

    Happy Monday!!

Hope the next 2.5 hours go quickly minted and that you enjoy your scan tomorrow - I also had a repeat scan at around 22 weeks, so it was nice to see Bean again, plus we got more pictures, which was good as they were much better than the overexposed ones we got at the 20 week scan. I'm sure everything will be fine with your bubs - it's just a lot easier to see certain areas when they are in the right positions.

Happy due date to mummyoftwo today! Hope I get to update the birth list soon with some new arrivals.

    Morning ladies,
Sat at the hospital waiting for my bloods (regular appointment 2 days before consultant) and realised that my blood test card isn't in my mat notes folder :( must have fallen out at my last mw appointment! hopefully I'll be able to get them to do the test anyway as I'm here. :o

Re: arnica tablets, the ones on the supplement list are homeopathic, so I'd personally not bother as there's nothing in them :o Don't know if you can get ones with actual arnica in? apparently you can also get liquid witch hazel to put on mat pads against any stitches to reduce inflammation.

  • TENS – what are peoples thoughts? I didn’t really believe the hype but I went to my antenatal class the other day and the midwife was really pushing them as amazing so I think I might just give them a go. Not sure whether to buy or hire though as there isn’t much in it and if you want them more than once I think it is cheaper to just buy.

Rups – I’m due in November too and have everything already, but that’s because I’m super organised with everything in life! Well done with the car – sounds like a good deal! My car is note very MSE at all but that’s because OH is a boy racer so it’s his ‘hobby’ too.

Morocha – I think I would be scared to be around somebody so emotional… I don’t cry a lot so it would freak me out! Poor you though, you must have felt awful and you are the pregnant one!!!

    Congrats on Noah Emsaint xx

Aida – I had been thinking about the flu jab too as I have had flu quite a few times in the last few years…do you just call the GP and book it in? Does anybody know when you should have it? I understand the working if it is in your best interests… that’s why I’m working til 37 weeks so I have more time off with baby the other side!

Welcome mrs_B… don’t worry about OH getting frustrated, it won’t be long before he can. It was the same for my OH but now he feels it all the time and loves it!

    Goodlcuk today Milliebob xx

As for me…. Well I have started to get Braxton Hicks now and they are so painful! They are disturbing me sleep at night so I feel awful and have a bad back ache. All the literature says they shouldn’t hurt but they do… On a positive side, I have only 30 working days to go according to my work calendar which just popped up to inform me of the good news!

    Dizsie… 31 + 2 (and now number 35 in the queue…scary stuff!)
:jBaby Boy born December 2012
  • ok im drinking my raspberry leaf, and burning the clary sage whilst sitting on my ball.... where are you baby?! its eviction day!
  • Morning. Just popping in to say hi as I haven't managed to read back yet so no idea what's been happening over the weekend!.

Milliebob - good luck for today.

I didn't bother with arnica the last time. i used tee tree oil and lavender oil in a bath every night to help heal the stitches and it worked fine for me. Will get some in case I need it this time (more than likely!).

Dizsie - re the TENS machine. I think they work great if your labour is affecting your back. Mine started out feeling very like period pains so it was all at the front. I did boroow my SIl's and tried using it but it was a bit useless in that respect and I'll not be bothering with it this time but my SIL used if for hers and said it was really good (she experienced back labour). She didn't go to the hospital for ages as she was able to handle it and ended up having the baby less than an hour after she got there. Everyone's labour is different and it all depends on whether you are keen to give it a try. You have nothing to lose by trying and it may help you. Re the hire vs buy - SIL bought hers on the theory that she could use it for future babies and it could be sold on. Did any of that make sense? Sometimes i start taling and by the time I'm finished I wonder if I'm talking rubbish or not! Lol!

Braxton Hicks sound sore! I really don't want them this time either (didn't get them last time).

Big scan this week - little bit anxious but what will be will be - can't change anything now!

Will read back and post later!
