  • hells bells - #5. that means this baby really is coming out soon...

forgot to congratulate you rups - well done, you wont know yourself once you get your car. so much easier with kids. i didnt pass til i was 27 but its been so handy since. my bestie failed the test for the third time yesterday, she was really upset. it costs so much as well :(
  • SM there is a particular Italian-American dish beginning with P with many toppings that just the word makes me be sick… sadly my OH would eat it everyday if he could and I used to eat it but not since being pregnant. Any deodorant also makes me throw up too!

Aida – Why do you HAVE to work til then? For money or because work are insisting…. Legally you don’t HAVE to work that long!

dizsie I was told to get a fragrance-free deodorant to put in my hospital bag by the midwife who runs my aquanatal so that the baby recognises my smell rather than it being masked by an artificial smell. I got a Simple roll-on deodorant from poundland. I've not tried it yet, but could be the way to go. When I was getting MS, artificial smells would make me feel sick, so I had to change Moon's shampoo etc. I also found that cigarette smoke made me feel sick, and I noticed that the amount of smokers in my town seems to have increased dramatically in the last year. :(
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

  • Sexymouse - I was told that too. I used an unperfumed one when i had DS. Will likely do the same this time too. There are many smells that make me feel sick but thankfully none have actually made me be sick! I am full of admiration for all of you who suffer actual throwing up in pregnancy. I did once when I had a stomach bug (or food poisoning whichever it was) and it was very unpleasant. The nausea is bad enough.

Dizsie - are you feeling a wee bit better? Glad bubba started moving a bit more.

    Morning ladies :)
Slept really badly last night, Beanie was a bit quiet all evening (still moving, just not the disco they normally seem to be having in there on an evening!) and I kept waking up and worrying about it. About 4am I was woken up by them having a proper wiggle around though, so they’re obviously fine!

DH tried out the isofix base in the new car last night to make sure he knew how to work it. Spent ten minutes swearing at it before realising that he’d left the leg folded up underneath *rolls eyes* :o I wish he would read all of the instructions before trying to do things! I couldn’t see what he was doing, and he wouldn’t let me look at it  Silly man!

Anyway, all fits fine and quite straightforward to use, once you get all the bits in the right place :rotfl:

  • Dizsie I had a really bad rash under my arms a couple of weeks ago - I read that sometimes in pregnancy this happens - and the skin went red and really itchy and then sacbbed up; it was not at all pleasant! Anyway, the reason I tell you this is that I couldn't use deodarant for a couple of days as I had to let it heal and then I decided to buy something new as I was paranoid that I would get the same reaction with my usual one. I bought PITROK anti persperant (found it in Morrisons) which is a gentle mineral spray and I love it! I think it is unfragranced - it doesn't have as trong artificial smell in any case - and it really has been fab. It is a little bit more than other ones but I think it is worth it!

Didn't sleep all that well last night so been making up for it this morning on the sofa. Both cats came to lie with me but Monkey is very fussy this am and chatting to me lots which is nice.

Still getting stupid texts asking me if the baby has come yet; also have lost the will to do anything now and don't want to venture outside the house. OH keeps asking me when I think baby will come - he is just excited but it is making me really snappy everytime he asks now! My Aunt's a medium and she has told my mum when she thinks the baby will be born but when I asked my mum a couple of weeks ago what date it was she just had this knowing laugh and wouldn't tell me. So I knew straight away that she had obviously given a date after my due date but how long over is anyones guess. Baby seems very comfy at the mo, wish I could say the same for me!
OH is already planning baby number two but to be honest I can;t see myself going through all this again. I know that a lot of people say that and the general consensus is that you change your mind over time but right here right now it's a no!

Hope all is well, labour vibes to my fellow boldies! x

    Hi everyone,

PS: Is there a new series of OBEM?

There was a OBEM multiples special on the other night but they are in the process of filming a new series at the minute x
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

xx Mama to a gorgeous Cranio Baby xx
  • Thanks for the deodrant advice ladies... I have been so sweaty though during preg i need a strong one to get me through the day!

Midwife did offer me sickness tabs but advised they can make bigger babies and the health complications of bigger babies etc... I would rather not take anything that jepoardises the health of my baby and just soldier on x

  • Thanks Jenjen for the ear thermometer link. Looks good! I've just bagged myself one too :)

Not much to report from here. Still very uncomfortable, with two and a bit weeks left. Am finding sleeping slightly easier surprisingly and have stayed in bed all night for the last two nights. Yay! Was becoming a bit of a sofa surfer!

Can't believe I am 17 on the list  When did that happen? This whole birth thing really seems to have snuck up on me. How did I not realise it was coming?!? Had some crampy period type pains last night, and worried it was the start of things, but they died off, so obviously not ready yet!

Sending labour vibes to those at the top of the list!

Oh quick questions what does AFM mean? Is it As For Me?

    moneypuddle (37 weeks and 1 day) x
