I just realised I don't have any appointments booked in with my midwife
poopsticks.
I've forgotten what else I was going to say now
Had major nesting today, done all babies room, cleaned windows, bought some blanket boxes for his bedding so moved things around and sorted his wardrobe out as we have some stuff bought for weaning and teething etc stored in it as well as 2 toys I've bought him for xmas (although I could technically give him them in Feb and he wouldn't know lol) sorted out mine and OH's room out did 2 loads of washing and got it all hung up and then cleaned the bathroom from top to bottom.
Now I'm gonna watch Shameless with OH and then go to bedx

Hi everyone sorry I haven't had chance to catch up yet as things have been very hectic here.
I just wanted to let you know that Zachary Aaron was born on Sunday 9th at 20.51. I haven't written my birth story yet as it is a bit traumatic and we have only just come out of hospital but I will get it done asap. Hopefully you should be able to see a pic of him below if I have done it right.0 -
Huge congrats kittykat. Zachary is a lovely name and he is very cute. hope you are ok and enjoying mummy cuddles. hope you feel better soon hon..xx
so after reading about washing detergents, you all would advise that non-bio is the best then? i was just thinking to get a separate one for bubbas clothes when i have bought them so can wash them and also add conditioner so they can smell nice. lol. is any conditioner ok too?
am totally zonked out now. think all the adrenaline had left me drained and am ready to go to bed. the house is an utter mess. DH is so against a cleaner, but i am so so going in that direction and might call someone sneakily. what used to be the dining room has dry clothes everywhere, the ironing stand is opened up and also a freezer. it is annoying me but i am too tired. then the kitchen which i had tidied up when was alone at home is a mess. to be fair, DH did make some chicken kievs from scratch and i am grateful but the place after he has cooked is a mess always. he is washing up now. he took me out for dinner to celebrate my passing so it was at a local restuarant which was nice..:)
hope you all have been ok.. think might call it a night and go to bed. have a work party tomorrow where i can enjoy 2-3 glasses of soft drink and come home at a reasonable hour as dh is out too. BIL will be here. sigh..
night ladies. sleep well. xxxBecame Mrs H on the 1st of October 2011!!

Hi all,
Just wanted to say congrats to Kitty on her beautiful son...what a lovely head of hair too! Well done Rups on passing her driving test. I could go on and on commenting about all your other achievements, but I just can't keep up with this thread...it's like being in a Tardis zooming back and forth in time - ha ha. I just love reading all about your lives and pregnancies...doesn't make me feel so far from home now!
We are all well here in sunny Canada. I have now switched to permananet nights at work, as there was too much standing for me poor hips during the 12 hour days....so the new hours aren't nearly as awful.
Despite having an anterior placenta and only able to feel polite little pats off the baby, instead of the digs and kicks that I had in all my other pregnancies, I have been told that s/he is doing 'just fine'...what a relief. I shall be 24 weeks tomorrow (celebrating by sleeping through the day after a night shift - woo hoo!) and I seem to remember someone on this thread (?Rups) being congratulated for reaching V-Day at this point...what does this mean please? I tried googling it and it just came up with the dreaded Valentine's Day...
Good luck to you ladies! :grouphug:'You've got to tell your money what to do or it will leave!' Dave Ramsey0 -
v day is viability day hun. In the UK if you were to go into labour upto and including 23 weeks 6 days the hospital wouldn't help the baby as they don't see it as viable outside of the womb, from 24 weeks onwards if you were to go into labour the hospital would do what they could for the baby xYou never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Morning all!
Another bad night's sleep here (cat, cars outside, screaming baby outside - not sure where from, needing a wee etc), so hoping I don't get a call for work this morning (haven't had any so far, but we are only in week 2 of the term).
Congratulations kittycat! Will update the list in a minute if no-one else has done so already.
Rups I would try to avoid fabric conditioner unless it's a sensitive one, as it's quite often the perfumes in these thing (as savage said earlier) that irritate and cause allergies - I know personally that I have to be very careful about which ones we use as I have this problem, and the only ones I can use are the Asda sensitive one with the chamomile smell and the Pure ones - not tried ecover etc but heard they are good too. I also have to be careful with shampoos etc, as I came out in a rash from head to toe (including inside my ears) once after buying a very expensive hairdresser's shampoo that had a rose smell to it. I've even been allergic to a Clinique product in the past too, and they are meant to be hypo-allergenic and thoroughly tested too. I've bought soapnuts especially for the baby's clothes and bedding, and you don't need fabric conditioner with them as they don't leave the residue that normal washing powders etc do. You can always add some white vinegar to the wash to soften the clothes too (they honestly don't smell of vinegar once they are dry).
Well I'm off to track down my pain aux chocolats that I bought reduced at Waitrose yesterday - a nice healthy breakfast lol.
Hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

Re: washing - I have really sensitive skin and use a liquid detergent as touching the powder/tablets used to bring me up in hives so I had to wear marigolds when putting a wash on! I like the Persil small and mighty liquid (non-bio), and we use yellow comfort (I think it's called sunshine!) which doesn't have a very strong smell, so will continue with it for the moment. If baby turns out to be sensitive I'll switch to Comfort Pure, which I've used in the past when my skin was worse and didn't have any problems with.
