I think what you are feeling is completely normal moneypuddle - I haven't been through it yet but a few people have said in the last few weeks they suddenly think !!!!!! have I done? Re work, I found the same, I was desperate to leave but the closer it got the more I was dreading it. Being off last week massively helped, made me realise I was ready to finish, and made me feel more organised about the baby.

StrepB - at least you know about it and there is plenty that can be done while in labour based on my limited understanding. What is the plan for that? Do you know?

Norabatty thank you so much for your post, it was sooo interesting and useful. I didn't think the hospital provided maternity pads, do you think that's the same everywhere? Sorry you've had awful problems with breastfeeding- that's my main worry at the moment.

The board was so quiet at the weekend and it's busy again today yeyyy.

Moneypuddle I know what you mean- after reading Nora's post I'm freaking out a bit- this time next week I'll be a mummy and I just don't know if I'm ready- baby for us was a total surprise and unplanned.

CL you said you're 27 weeks but wish you were 37- believe me you will be before you know it- it goes soooo fast!

I think a lot of babies are going to be born this week

hugs moneypuddle. I am no expert either but from chatting to friends and you all here, this seems so natural. Dont be so hard on yourself. People forget that having a baby is a long process (those not having one that is) and the pressure is immense on us. I was warned about being scared towards the end as well as the MW said everyone gets scared, so try and not be scared please?

I was chatting to my friend today about not working as well and i feel i would like to work part time after bubba is born. everyone has different views and you know how your bubba was planned and wanted so dont be hard on yourself. once he/she is here, you will see. have you got those cds you can listen to or perhaps some meditation too that will calm your nerves a bit? Youare doing the right thing by chatting to someone about it anyway. and we are always here. I am sure i will go through the same fears. i am forever scared of losing my baby. xx

Hi, I am Marta. Adding myself at number 52, EDD 8th December, baby girl, first child Giving birth in Manchester, water birth if possible. I do not have a clue about pretty much anything related to children, babies, birth, labour and so on. This is my first and all my family had children like 30 years ago, so things have changed a lot since. To be honest, I might be the only one on this board not getting any kind of advice from family or friends, so anything you might recommend is very useful for me!!

can anyone advise on swimming please? I know i have asked before. i want to go to my local leisure centre but they do no aqua natal classes. if i just want to swim, can i just do anything in relation to the type of swimming/strokes? I normally do breast stroke/front crawl. dont want to do something OTT!!! thanks xx

With my first I wasn't so impatient, because I was busy shopping for all the stuff I needed (wanted!) and was reading up on all things baby related. With this one I have all the stuff I need and think I read everything baby related on the internet last time, so as soon as I was pregnant I just wanted the baby to be here.

I'm not one who loves being pregnant either. I just see it as a means to an end. Don't get me wrong, I'm very lucky not to have any sickness and was able to work full-time until 39 weeks last time, with a 45 minute commute each way, but I feel like I need to be careful and would love to have a night out on the town with the girls.

Also my two BFs are 41 weeks now and I'd love to be up there with them!

Hi Marta - welcome to the thread. Sorry I redid the list, but if you quote the list, you lose the numbers if you don't remove the quote part.

Well energy levels have dipped dramatically now, as I've transferred the sheets from the spare room bed (where we "slept" last night) to our bed and put the dirty ones from our bed in the laundry basket ready for washing. I've also dusted all the furniture and the window sill in our bedroom and started to move my stuff back in from the spare room. Everything is nice and clean now, and the hoover needs emptying as it's full from my efforts, so will ask Moon to sort that out when he gets home around 5pm. Think I'm going to have to have a little nap now.

Moneypuddle your feelings are completely natural, particularly as you conceived so quickly so you didn't have time to get used to the trying part before it became a reality. The feelings will pass, and you'll start to get more excited the closer you get to the birth. I've had many tears over the losing my income and having to be completely dependent on Moon, as well as the fact that I'll be virtually a single parent for most of the time as he'll be working. It's another thing that scares me about breast feeding, that I'll then be completely responsible for all of the feeding in the house too. I'm sure that everything will become easier as time goes on though. Hugs xx

Hi Ladies, I am going to be brave and come and join you. I am 21 weeks on Fri and all is going ok so far:)

Those who know me from other threads know that this has been a tough journey, 4 mcs of which one was at 18 weeks. Still does not seem real TBH. Just taking each day at a time. All the scans have shown that this one is doing ok, and as far as they can see has no deformities that my little boy had that miscarried at 18 weeks

I am due 18th january
