hand me downs are so good. I wish i could have some as well but i think my brother has got rif off their stuff as they have two girls and they live in a flat so to store things was hard. I would have loved for them to give us even somehting like a moses basket or something. maybe will ebay it. just want good stuff off people you know? not rubbish. lol

erm really? I thought you have BH towards the end (thirs trimester at least). there is so much to still learn!

Hello all - just bookmarking. 13 weeks pg here; second child, lots of difficult history including 5 mcs and severe pre-eclampsia, plus high natural killer cells. So a bit tentative, but so far all good. Looking forward to getting to know you all.

Thanks sexymouse. I've read somewhere that some people don't even get them but, like you, I may not know I'm getting them even if I do. I just get kicked regularly... I was at the dentist the other day and the nurse was like 'oh, wouldn't it be nice if baby kicked?'. What for? Bump kept moving until after I left the surgery! She enjoyed the show though.

ive been feeling bh for a bit now its more tightening then pain , but since last week i noticed that little bean keeps having hiccups which feel funny at first but last night it draged abit iam so tired now and stomach doesnt feel too good either been going more than normal . anyone had sideeffects wz gaviscon ?

I asked my Mum if she got them, and she said she hadn't with either my sister or I. I think the thing with BH is that people can experience them in slightly different ways too, so it's hard to know. I have had times where the top of my tummy has felt like I've done a tonne of sit-ups, but my tummy is always very hard and it could just have been cos baby was under my breastbone and stretching things. Now the bump has moved down a bit, I don't get that sensation.

so when baby has hiccups, how does it feel in the belly? is it those flutter movements? those pulses are kicks then? sorry am clueless as you can see.

BH - are these period type pains or do they happen down there?

I am fed up of work - so ready to leave for maternity (haha and I have till december).

Rups when Bean has hiccups (he seems to get them about twice a day at least now), I get a regular rhythmic pulsing (every second or so) and my tummy pulses ever so slightly (I also can feel the pulsing down there as he's head-down). When I first felt the hiccups, it was just down there as he wasn't quite so big, but I didn't feel them until around 30 weeks.

Not everyones baby gets hiccups I don't think. When they do it's like a regular pulsation at a steady rhythm. There's not really any way to determine what is kicks whether it is the flutters or pulses until your a bit further along and they get stronger and are in certain areas.

Braxton hicks are a basically contractions of your uterus, I don't think they feel anything like period pains but everyone feels different, BH to me are where my whole tummy area goes tight and hard like the muscles in my belly have spasmed, they aren't meant to hurt but I've had a couple that do lately.

Oh and don't wish your work away, I've been off work since April now and at first it was ok but you get lonely, bored and develop cabin fever because you don't get to see people and so time drags.

thanks girls but i am still confused as to what i have now because i get bubble type flutters at times and then those pulses which i am classifying as kicks. when i feel those, ilook at my belly and can see it move. so i am assuming kicks? i felt a few of those pulse type or kicks in the morning after i had eaten so i dont know whether they were kicks or something else.

ikkle you are right. iget bored very easily at home. i think its a break i need and sleep and then back to work. will need to make sure can get out and about as i start getting depressed after a while being all alone. lol
