You do get quiet days, but as long as you still get the 10 movements it isn't a worry. I've been extra aware of quiet days since doing my kick chart. The last week I had 4 days in a row where I just scraped my 10 movements, and now the last 3 days she has been moving more than ever. In my area they say you shouldn't start counting movements until 27 weeks (I think, my brain is a bit hazy on that one).

    Think it's 27/28 weeks here too. x

Hi, been collecting the euro coupons of the huggie starter packs they are no use to the uk. So usually just send to some1 on here but wanted to know if the boxes are the same n ireland and wanted to swap vouchers like for like as in euro for £ ones if they aren't on the boxes. Some1 let me know and would be willing to post if no1 can swap.

ps. i cant remember who mentioned about he argos pillow. lol. typical hey that its been reduced. lol. i never get bargains. hahaha

It was me :) It wasn't reduced when I reserved it and still shows as full price on the site - very nice surprise this morning though.

Just about to go and try it out. Had enough of writing today. Just about completed the chapter that my laptop deleted on Sunday night (even the copies wouldn't open - was gutted when it happened).

I was hoping for as natural as possible, I'd resigned myself to the fact I wouldn't be able to have epidural etc based on what I'd been told early on in pregnancy so could see natural being difficult and me needing a GA for section, which like I said to you when you had bubs I was worried I would miss out on that initial bonding. Now that I've met the anesthetist though and the actual consultant and they've actually looked into my medical conditions and found things that can be done differently its all actually looking a lot more positive for a natural birth. I'm not sure if they will let me go to my due date or overdue or not but they are willing to let me go up to 38 weeks at least then I will be reassessed, although they have stopped my medication now as it could happen any time really. Either way it's exciting to know I'm going to have a baby soon :D x

  • oh my good gawd.... im #9 :eek::eek::eek::eek:

had contractions from 3pm to 8pm last night, lots of pressure downwards, backpain, all while trying to eat the family meal promised to kids to celebrate ds1's first day at big school. soon as i got home, got comfy on my birth ball and it all bloody stopped :( got a bit upset but what can you do. kept being woken last night by contractions but here i am today, vastly pregnant and drinking a large cup of RLT!

    Morning all!

Had a really bad night's sleep last night - was having period-type pains and shooting pains (effacement pains again?) for most of the night that woke me up - the only way that they got any better is if I stood up and walked around or sat upright in bed which led to me snoring and waking with a sore dry throat every few minutes. Glad I've not had a call for work today. Think the RLT and the bouncing around at aqua (some of the moves were very uncomfortable as I could feel Bean bouncing in my pelvis and my bump has actually got lower since the class) may have had something to do with this. Hadn't suffered BH before, but since I've upped the RLT to 3 cups a day, I've had 2 nights of these periody type pains. They were a lot stronger last night though, so much so that I thought that they may turn into the real thing.

fluffnutter the midwife is called Julie. She's really nice, and I wish she were my midwife (not that my midwife isn't nice, but I feel more comfortable talking to Julie than to my one).

KatyLiz - to save myself a bit of money, I asked for RLT on freecycle, as often people have bags left over. One lady I collected a box from had a 3 hour labour after 3 nights of contraction-type pains (starting to wonder if I should be preparing myself for labour in the next few days then, as I've had 2 of these nights so far). It was her first baby, so she's not sure whether her labour would have been that fast anyway, but RLT is meant to make the pushes more efficient as it tones the uterus. My friend took it with both her pregnancies, and our NCT teacher recommended it, as apparently there have been studies done (I think in the US) that have shown it to have a positive effect on the second stage of labour.

Non-pregnancy news: British Gas called last night to say that they are sending someone to repair our bedroom ceiling on Monday (their engineer caused a water leak from the water tank in the loft about a month ago and it stained and bowed half our bedroom ceiling). I really hope it all gets done before Bean appears as it'll be awful having workmen in the house when I've got a newborn and trying to get to grips with breastfeeding (especially as we are having a 2-week babymoon). Downside is, I'll have to tell the agency that I won't be available for work as I'll need to be home to supervise.

Well hugs to all who need or want them, and labour vibes where appropriate.

It's the same one! Julie Whitehead? She's awesome isn't she? I went to pilates with her, bump and me at a surestart centre, an active birth workshop and the aquanatal classes. Plus she came to my house and sorted out Freddie's tongue tie. I love her. I'm going to sign up for post-pregnancy pilates so I can see her again :)
