hi just a question did anyone have issues with dairy and meat earlier in pregnancy? I'm 14 weeks at the moment and cant eat either without being sick, but I'm not sure if its worth a doctors visit or just talk to the MW in a couple of weeks?Aims for 2014

Lol Rups, I think any hobby thing is boring if you're not that excited by it. DH tries to get me into his hobbies, and I try to be interested but I just get really bored and give up.
I used to be able to knit, but I just can't pick it up now. I blame the pregnancy brain. That's why I stick to my cross stitch now, I can't go wrong with that.Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800 -
ellie I'm veggie so can't help with the meat one, but dairy did turn my stomach - in the beginning I could handle tea with just the tiniest drop of milk in, then I couldn't face milk at all. I even went off chocolate too. On the plus side, once I was over my morning sickness, it got lots better.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170

prob the lingering MS, ellie. could last all the way through, i went right off sweet stuff for the first and second trimester, but i can manage some choccy nowbizarrely as well, i went right off chicken, and still have. used to be my favorite meat, and i wasnt keen on red meat, but this pregnancy ive craved steak. had a great iron count tho!!!

ellie I never had morning sickness, but at a later stage - I think about 16-20 weeks- I couldn't go near chicken and wasn't keen on most meat. Even the smell would make me nauseous. I had no problems with dairy though. And it did pass as I eat anything now.Cross Stitch Cafe member no.800

OH has just woken up, I tidied the room on my own while he was asleep, he slept through it all, then I sat on floor to pick some stuff up cos I couldn't bend over and had to wake OH to help me up lol.
I've decided to only put one nighty in my hospital bag, have sorted out some really comfy leisure pants and vests though insteadx
You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

Hi all, hope you're keeping well. KatyLiz I think we're due on the same day - I'm having a really achey day today, my back and pelvis are quite sore when I'm walking around.
I'm not in a great mood because not only is baby back-to-back the doctors have just told me my platelets have dropped quite low (they were on the increase) - I'm seeing the consultant on Friday to go through my blood test results, so if anyone has any advise about low platelets I'd be very grateful. I've had a quick google and they say they wouldn't let you have an epidural, which I'm not happy about!
Sorry for the moan!Team pink due 5th Oct '12 :T0 -

This is me! I still have morning sickness now, certain foods trigger it more than others and I'm aware of them now so tend to avoid them. I love ham salad sarnies though but whereas I used to eat loads of chicken and turkey I love red meat, I can go to the butchers row and be in heaven cos of the smell. My iron count is really good too, although OH makes me have my steak cooked welllol x

That was me yesterday. Only I had to keep hitting the floor with a lightsabre to get DH's attention as he was downstairs on the sofa!
Carrie - hope you're feeling better soon. It's nice to have someone due the same dayI don't know anything about the platelets but I hope someone who comes along will. I usually try and stay away from google as anything I look up I end up worried by the results.
